Why should I provide the photo?

I'm not talking for him. You know you've provided no evidence of data links either. And you also know that we make aviation fuel while you import diesel and petrol. Remember your diesel Qs. You also know that you tent story is outdated and not even part of the discourse in SA anymore. Your mokopa story is laughable. I am laughing in Algerian right now.

I have provided evidence of Nigerian Military Data links. You haven't.

Your defence minister specifically said your troops lack tents in the DRC. I've only been quoting her.

Multiple sources have been provided to show that you lack aviation fuel. The last article was dated 10 October 2014.

Nothing old.

Continue laughing in algeria, it hasn't bought you any mokopa missiles, neither have any magically appeared.

Janes defence still reports your defence force as been too broke to afford them.

No, you provided a useless picture of hardware and personnel, like posting a picture of a phone and "proving" that it has bluetooth.

And the minister explained the circumstances, which circumstances don't exist anymore. The "outdatedness" has nothing to do with the date, but with the circumstances. Your multiple sources have not proved that we don't have aviation fuel today. But then we need no source to prove that you import diesel and other finished product, notwithstanding your crude. You have no beneficiation ability in Nigeria. Everything Denel produces is the SANDF's as and when needed, so yes, I laugh in Algerian.

The thing is, it would have dual purposes. We have a plan to launch our very own made in nigeria satellite by 2018 or so, from Nigeria. With the intense testing 3 sighted so far this week by @Chris, it means development is in top gear.

Anyway, until we get official confirmation, we may never know exactly.

You are right

Denel’s Mokopa PGM ready for market

Written by Leon Engelbrecht, Wednesday, 26 January 2011

"This is in line with comments made by SAAF chief Lieutenant General Carlo Gagiano on that subject, he saw only limited short-term opportunity for Mokopa with the land services. “Most armies won't use it optimally, he noted. Land-to-land targeting at 5.5km, as with Ingwe, is already a very long range for target acquisition. You cant's see much further in the dust and glare of the battlefield. With Mokopa you go over-the-horison and then your communications and command-and-control has to be very advanced. Many armies are not yet confident enough to use such a weapon. The Ingwe is still very much on the sweet spot for most applications,” he said. "

Say what Agububu.... go play with your toys Cobras, the Ratel is just advanced for you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratel_IFV

Small land mines only, bigger mines will tear your Ratel into pieces, Ratel is NOT an MRAP .

Nigerian Cobras too have protection against land mines.

Don't compare your ancient 1980s outdated Ratel with our year 2008 Cobra.

Your Ratel cannot even swim across a small river, SANDF is outdated and lacks all terrain armoured vehicles grin grin

civilian made rockets sometimes are fired in the vicinity of people, but hard core missiles, no way can be tested near where people lives.

That's no ordinary rocket, it is most likely a guided missile, it flew horizontally meaning it's controlled to a landing point.

If it is vertical (then returns down by parachute to same launch pad) or parabolic, I will say it could easily be unguided rocket.

Epe rocket project base has always been in a town with people, desire for secrecy is making the government move it to an Island, Epe is a coastal town

we speak the same love, the picture doesnt look like a missile, heavy missiles are bigger{longer},more volatile, and they do not emitt as much "dirty" gas{smoke} as the missile in the picture does, missiles also tend to generate rather violent explosions,so they arent sited in inhabited areas.so it is more likely that its a rocket{though it isnt civilian made}.but in the end,its proudly nigerian made, unlike your 90% white made military hardwares.

By writing this down you've proven your inability to read or understand what you're reading, you've once again elected yourself as the d*mbest person on this Thread. Since when does " won't use it optimally" mean "Useless".

Let me give you a bit of an English lesson.

Optimally is used as an Adverb and it means " in an optimal and most desirable way"

Optimal is an Adjective and means "Most favorable or desirable; optimum."

Optimum:

adjective
most conducive to a favorable outcome; best.

noun

the most favorable conditions or level for growth, reproduction, or success.

So when he said most countries won't be able to use it optimally he meant that they won't be able to use it to the best of its abilities because for obvious reasons they'd have to fully adapt the system into their army, that's why at the end he said "your command-and-control have to be very advance" he said nothing about it being useless, you're twisting his words to support your own extremely stup*d argument.

You're an insult to the people who taught you how to read.

We are not interested in ancient wars where 95% of those who fought are dead, retired, kicked out by ANC, or run away to Australia before Zulu revenge slices their throats.

Current war 2014, Nigeria is fighting alone with over 30,000 soldiers, batalions of tanks, APC, IFV, artillery, jet fighters, helicopter gunships, ISTAR aircraft, spy balloons, satellites, automatic grenade launchers, mortars, etc.

Show we where South African military is being tested to that level today 2014.

Your SANDF na photographic wash, your inexperienced HIV consumed army na wash! SANDF has 20 battalions of HIV battered and shattered half-dead soldiers, your military demo photos on Nairaland na wash, just trying to be posh, but SANDF na wash !

Strange then that with "30,000 soldiers, batalions of tanks, APC, IFV, artillery, jet fighters, helicopter gunships, ISTAR aircraft, spy balloons, satellites, automatic grenade launchers, mortars, etc."

All you have tasted is defeat- boko haram captures town after town.

You have failed your test.

And finally, we are talking about institutional experience here - knowledge passed on from soldier to soldier through training.

That is the difference between the NA and the SANDF - training

NA Cobra, VBL, BTR-3U are more modern than SANDF 1980s Ratels, 1990s Rooikats.

SANDF is a dry land only army 'standardized' to fight only at home on very dry and easy terrain
.

NA Cobra - not effective in conventional warfare as an offensive weapon and is a scout car
VBL - not effective in conventional warfare as an offensive weapon and is a scout car
BTR-3U - only have 47

MPLA and the Cubans had battalions of amphibious vehicals.... and yet our dry land only army out-maneuvered them and destroyed them in every battle

Mokopa missile is NOT in service with SAAF.

Mokopa has been rejected by SAAF because the 10km range is useless, too long for real battlefield realities according to your country's air force chief.

DENEL is a foolish weapons developer, I have always warned you South Africans that too long range is useless on real life battlefield practically, you won't see the enemy target.

Mokopa missile na wash, so your air force refused to buy the homemade wash !

Rooivalk helicopter has NO SINGLE guided weapon, it has ended it's career as a 1960s generation attack helicopter with world war II level of weaponry, Rooivalk too na wash !
.

Again.

Are you seriously saying that the Makopa can only engage targets that are exactly 10km away?

Not 8km? 9km? 4km?
