He needs a Consultant to give a definitive diagnosis following where LUTH stopped and needs a few hundreds of thousands of naira to do this...IN ADDITION, if a liver transplantation is required, this costs on average 20-25 lakhs in India, which equates to over N6m in Nigerian money.

Sticky thread on front page or bin it. Your call cool

Didn't somebody earlier specifically advised that he see the consultants at LUTH? I don't understand why he is now taken to some unnamed private hospital. Why the secrecy? Why not let LUTH continue from where they stopped? He is being funded publicly and we should know everything except the fine details of his medical and personal records. I have the feeling that our funds and time invested by you and others would be wasted on tests to nowhere or the same tests being repeated at different institutions.
Re: I Need Help by Nobody: 3:24pm On Nov 10, 2014
Busybody2:

This depends on the diagnosis the the Consultant is homing in on.

I wouldn't know what sorta tests/scans is done in Nigeria, but because of the "M" used before the "A" word which is used when one is talking about the big "C", further investigative scan (which might not require a liver biopsy) up is needed to arrive at a definitive diagnosis to find out the cause of the suspected CLD, the extent of liver cells inflammation or damage, correct patient management which might involve referring or transferring the patient to an hospital within or outside Nigerian.

I repeat, only by a biopsy with result read under a microscope can one arrive at a definitive diagnosis
This is how how medicine is practiced stop telling me what you read off a book
Scans are diagnostic tests just like radiographs and blood work
They are not definitive.
Definitive diagnosis can only be made by histopathology

Any update thus far?

I took some time to google the abeokuta clinic, not as bad as painted on this thread. The man is a certified medical practitioner, whether he will be able to handle the OP is what I can't say.

Not as bad as it's painted, people. . .

Op, You are in my prayers. It is well

No way!that Seun owns the site does not mean he has the last and final say.So many peepz have been duped on this forum?Did he verify before pushing there post to front page?Even with all the evidence of scam,he still did not ban some users. Please tell me the duties of a CEO since the 27th?

A trusted member duped a lady 1million+ before the data loss saga and nothing was done; the dude must have acquired a plot of land as I type this. I can list 7 fresh scam issues on Nairaland (some didn't even touch the front page); and almost everyone kept mentioning Seun. I (personally) cannot bare the insults he receives daily.

I'm not saying OP's issue is false. I believe the story 100%. I strongly support the actions going on here (infact, I believe he needs much more than he has gotten so far).

but

should I force my belief on Seun?? We've got different experiences bro..

When Fashola banned Okada in Lagos, many insulted him, but I know a man who applauded the action because he lost a leg in a 'head-on collision' with an Okada man.

Different experiences,different reactions.

Acidosis:
This isn't the right time to ask but I would love to know the history behind the illness; so others can learn.

I sincerely wish the OP a safe & quick recovery.

While some might see a reason to judge Mr Seun; people who understand the situation in Nigeria and the corporate world would know the reasons behind the delay.

Take for instance; you just cannot walk into any organisation (say a BANK) and ask people to give you money. There are rules and guildelines behind every organisation.

Some of you work in organisations where relatives and girlfriends aren't allowed entry during work hours.

Even in reputable charity organisations, it takes time, processes and scrutiny before any help is suggested/rendered.

Lets not shift blames on Mr Seun. He has done so much for Nigerians and Nigeria.

Overall, I strongly believe OP will come out strong regardless of his health history; I'm patiently waiting for a feedback.

Most likely he has cirrhosis of the liver, going by what the LUTH doctor gave as differential diagnosis
Cirrhosis is a chronic condition where normal liver cells are replaced by scar tissue due to destruction of normal cells
The liver performs hundreds of functions and they become compromised
The two main causes or cirrhosis are chronic hepatitis B and chronic alcoholism
There are other causes too
But for a young man like him hepatitis B may be the culprit.( just guessing)
It takes a very long time to get to this stage it's a gradual process that gets worse over time
By the time you see a patient with the swollen tummy and other classic signs like swollen feet, jaundice etc it has reached a state of no return
The liver is completely damaged irreversibly and as time goes by other complications ensue especially kidney failure which is a big killer for the patients
Toxins build up in the body ,travel to the brain, patient gets encephalopathy which starts as confusion and progresses to coma and death
Many patients with cirrhosis end up with liver cancer too
The only treatment that can save him is a liver transplant if he is a candidate.

I am very afraid for him

You've made THREE replies to his questions on this page alone, and in none of them have you provided anything like a reasonable answer.

Asking a busy person to read through 40 pages to get an answer you likely already have is just plain silly. There's a man's life at stake here, and Nairaland has an immense reach. Provide him with the answer and stop acting the oaf here.

Thank you. Chaircover is a pretty well respected, long-time nairalander. If she says it's cool, I'll go with that. I'll see what I can do.

Please those of you spending your precious time to answer SEUN should please stop. All i can see from all his questions are pride and arrogance. Where war he since 25th of October that the Op made his appeal, just because some good spirited Nairalanders has taken up the case, he is now pretending to show concern. Yah, he is the owner of Nairaland but we make things happen here. How many topic has SEUN posted here that generated traffics, How many educative information has SEUN shared here, how many enpowerment scheme topic has he shared? He should learn how to show appreciations to people than been arrogant. I'm not afraid of BAN which i know will be his next action, good a thing it doesn't stop me from making my Dollars from the "FX MARKET". PEACE!!!.
baba I agree with u totally.I for like ur post only say I dey fear make seun no ban me till 2090...when I first saw d post I had to check my calendar and I felt sad..I totally applaud the op fighting spirit not giving up even wen it looked like all hope was lost!u can imagine how e felt wen pple where reporting that they cudnt locate him in luth,me self was already doubting his claim but he kept on pleading wit d moderators haaa op GOD BLESS U AGAIN!!

Re: I Need Help by Nobody: 3:55pm On Nov 10, 2014
Read about the hospital and the doctor.
He seems to practice rural medicine or community medicine so I doubt he is the specialist the OP needs but toh:

Nigeria, along with many other countries, faces the challenge of providing quality surgical care in rural areas. Dr Awojobi Oluyombo talks to Les Olson about his innovative approach to working as a rural surgeon in south-western Nigeria.

Dr Awojobi Oluyombo obtained his medical degree from the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, in 1975 where he earned the Adeola Odutola prize for the best final-year medical student. He worked as a surgeon at the District Hospital Eruwa for three years before setting up his own rural clinic in Eruwa in 1986.

Other awards he has received include the Oyo State Merit Award for rural medical practice, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Prize and the College of Medicine Award from the University of Ibadan for his contribution to the Ibarapa Community Health Project. In 2000, the King of Eruwa offered him the chieftaincy title of Baasegun of Eruwa

Inasmuch. As people receive healing in church.. There are also a number of people that are Sent home from prayer camps to die .. Back then I had a problem.. And I was hoping on God.. From this place to that place.. Till the situation became unbearable. In the Long run I still went for a surgery and am alive today.. At least the experience has shape the way I see things and I thank God for that.

You did not believe! It's as simple as ABC
I am sure when they were taking you from place to place you were just looking at them and saying within you that instead of this people to take me to hospital they're jumping from one place to another

I applaud the efforts of everyone
Inasmuch as we hope for perfect and permanent restoration, I hope the people in charge have put into consideration that in medicine it is always 50/50 chance, not saying/insinuating anything
I hope the most extreme case and the most plausible case have been considered
Let's say he is eventually flown abroad and after all diagnoses and prognosis he needs a transplant of an organ that is not readily available, I'm assuming the cost of staying in an ICU and the equipments/machines have been considered.

To whom who asked the question
Church or hospital?(paraphrased)

I would choose church, why? Because I just need:
1. Faith, just a little faith
2. Seek out the audience of reputable/genuine man of God
3. Half/quarter of a million, since you can't go to an elder emptyhanded, talkless of God.
And I'll get to the root of everything and I'll get healed or I'll be told what to do to get healed; a healing I'm sure of!
But I'll need to stay true to Christ!!!
++ other benefits.

Shikena!!!

IMO!

You are making a right request but in a wrong way. If someone asks you for help and calls you heartless at the same time will you be moved to help the person? You didn't need to call Seun names. To me that's taking it too far. You can still put your / our request in a nice manner
