it was not based on performance - if it was performance, ashley young deserves the armband. it's seniority. rooney was the most senior member in the squad & that was why he got it.

Without selling Rooney, they should have spent. One would expect the spending to be up to 43 million to make any sense.

That spending was not enough to win them the title. Blackburn was spending heavily for three years (more than Man United) before they could win the title from Man united.

Without Di Maria, Blind, Shaw, Rojo, Herrera, our first three matches under Gaal were more horrible to watch than what Moyes served us last season.
