I graduated with a 2:2 from Obafemi Awolowo University, B.A (History and International Relations) with gpa (2.64). I wish to further either PGD, MBA etc. Please which is advisable?

I do not have any work experience after grad from uni, finished nysc june this year and been busy with my fashion retail business. Please need your advice on which PGD course i can read in Unilag. Thanks!

Okay. thanks a lot. Was saying PGD because i was thinking my cgpa is low to be admitted for a masters program. I plan to either do an MBA or MPA. Would have loved Msc marketing tho, but a degree in marketing is required (unilag requirements). Thanks for your response.

If u really want to do msc marketing, u'll av to do pgd in marketing first before u can be allowed to do msc marketing. U also have to weigh ur options properly, decide on the course u really want to study for advancement in career n not jst for studyn sake to get a msc certificate. U'll av to wait till next year if u thinking about unilag because the entrance exam for 2014/2015 admission was don late last month/early this month. Pgd is mostly for people who want to do an msc course that's not related to the course they studied during their first degree. There are some uni that allow people with 2:2 to apply for masters. Take ur time doing the digging.

Yeah, i know admission for this year @unilag is closed and i intend applying next year, that is why i am asking for advice/opinions. Will also take my time and enquire more before admission for next session starts. Thanks a lot.

Not really! I was at Philosophy Department last Monday and i was unable to get any info. Nothing on there board and the Sec. was busy.

I read on this thread that some people were called for interview which means we are still on a long thing. I don't have info on what is going on. You can follow Timothy on 'Unilagadmissionguide'. The guy answers questions unlike Mr Kalan.

With 2.2, u can do MSc directly in any course and school in Nigeria.

In fact, with third class in some courses of top Nigeria schools, u can do MSc directly.

In Unilag, with third class, u can do directly MSc Cell biology, MSc Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management, Master of Environmental Management, MIT, MSc Parasitology, MILR, to mention just a few.

If not d situation of d country, 2.2 is a gud grade.

Click application form, then click on continue application. Input either your ref number or application number.

Ofcourse. Apparently, they wouldn't accept it for such competitive course to cut number of applicants. That doesn't mean other departments won't accept it.

Let me give u a sympathetic scenerio...

Take for instance someone studied accounting and graduated wt a "lower" feeling very bad nd depressd. Then wants to go for masters in same course in UI, only to be rejected cos of the "lower" class of degree...

How do you think this person would feel taking up a PGD in his own course?
