Was discussing with a friend today and we talked on graduate with first class. I will like to know your opinion and your say on reasons why a first class graduate might not get employed

There's no reason whatsoever why such a graduate shouldn't get a job except if s/he is the type whose only aim was just the qualification and his/her mind isn't exposed.

the application of knowledge is better than knowledge itself.

Haven't u heard of qualification without competence?
Our institutions today are not breeding competent graduates ,yet students get rejected at the only avenue to get experience/training,some lucky ones might not be rejected rather the will spend their 1yr /6mths industrial training period as errand boys/girls.

I must say it takes extra work to apply what u learnt in class to what u face in ur everyday life or @ work place .
So you can qualify even when you r not competent and that's when u get disqualified from every job u try to get.
Make yourself relevant/competent in your field!

I don't know o, me I didn't graduate with a first class. But I know someone who did. Will ask him. Brb

The only reason I fEel a first class student won't get a job is, if He/She while in school didn't for once, read, in order to broaden his/her scope of knowledge. He/She might be going with the believe that once he cram it and pour it, his/her distinction is very accertained. Buh lemme make a fact known to you, the case of a first class student cramming and pouring it is very rare. First class students don't read like that. If you're this type that cram and pour, you're only going to make good 2.1 points. 4.3, 4.2, and 4.1.

Only two reasons..

1. He bought the certificate ..thus it becomes impossible to defend it.. When you take all these oil and gas exam like shell and chevron, u ll understand better

2. Dem don nail the photocopy of him certificate for one big iroko tree inside evil forest..

Like seriously?....well given another person's certificate to another may caused that....or iya ile okan

Someone who worked tirelessly, had many sleepless nights, broke many protocols and after all these came out with fly color, tell me why he won't get a well paid job. God no dey do partial now and besides, I am fed up with this same story jare. If you believe first class graduate won't get job easily, then 2.2 is up for grab

Is a waste for a first class graduate to work, he supposed to teach. Learn without taught is a labour lost..

Every first class graduate is an automatic employee of his university of graduation as a lecturer assistant while he pursues his Ph.d. Except he chooses to go get work elsewhere. So there is no he won't get a job. Infact having a first class has nullified all the local juju powers. Again except the guy does not wanna start from somewhere.
