I have a word for them. If they believe in child witchcraft then every adult is a witch or wizard. Only witches know themselves. If any adult in the state denies my assertion then they should stop debasing those children.

Eya, I weep for my Country Nigeria. In this situation, I think ignorance is not only the problem of the parents but also in exposure also. One thing i know for certain, it takes a witch to recognize a witch. From another dimension, what witchcraft practice is worse than killing your offspring/ward claiming he is possessed. I think parents who believes such needs a fiercer deliverance.

with all due respect Sir. You have NEVER experienced it that's why you feel so. I know of a family that was doing fine but when they brougt a girl from the village to come stay with them, things turned upside down for them. Until the days she confessed.

Note that no one accussed her of witchcraft prior to that scene. However, I can remember vividly that whenever we gather around to pray, we close our eyes and the moment we open our eyes, she(the witch) wont be in our midst. This happened like 3 times.

Again, one of my bros would call her a witch. He didn't even know she was a witch. He would kick her and ask her to get out of his sight. Anytime she saw him, she would run far away.

All these happened until the day she confessed. But sadly, that family never rised above that level.

d two states r known 4 development,hospitality, great culture,good food,peace and harmony not witchcraftcy.

I do not often contribute on Nland these days , however I would like to recommend that those of us who are literate (all of us here I guess) should try some research . Belief in withcraft was pervasive in primitive (socially ) human communities . As humans develop socially they tend to rely less on superstition but more on their brain and reasoning abilities to solve life problems .
I have both Cross River and Akwa Ibom ancestry . This are was ravaged by the slave trade and this contributed a great deal to the development of accusations of witchcraft to deal with enemies and rivals .

May be you need to educate us on the real definition of witchcraft. Because what happens with the girl is a clear case of someone possesed by spirits. Does it mean that any physical vehicle occupied more than 1 soul is called Witch ?
