Gombs: Whichever way you choose to amplify the number of people that followed jesus, he was never fooled by the number. When he starts sharing bread and fish they gather, but when he starts speaking the word of life, only the twelve remain. John 6 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. Not everybody come to hear the truth, most come for bread and fish(prosperity, health, longevity) promised by charlatans. When you see few who speak the word of life, they are mostly isolated. 4 Likes |

Gombs: And at the end of the day, how many of the large crowd believed the message? How many remained with Jesus at his trial? How many were with him after the resurrection? How many were waiting for the spirit in the upper room? If crowd following is anything, Jesus would be termed a failure by your standards. In fact a terrible failure because some of the crowd who sang hosanna in the highest to herald him into Jerusalem were screaming "crucify him, crucify him" just a week later. Do we take it you'll betray oyaks soon like the crowd did to Jesus? Anyway, what mattered to Christ was doing his fathers work. What mattered to Paul was finishing his course and keeping the faith, not how many people he had getting thrills from hearing him. I keep telling you its not about the crowd. It shouldn't be about the crowd. Christ said "narrow is the way and few will find it" Say yours, I say mine. The important thing is readers seeing all the angles and arriving at the truth through the help of the spirit of God. 2 Likes |

Let's test those parameters properly. The Rhapsodies thread, https://www.nairaland.com/393253/rhapsody-realities-daily-devotional has 60,596 view and has been on since 5th February 2010 or 1661 days. The average reads per day is 37 The Midas Touch thread, https://www.nairaland.com/1957135/midas-touch-balanced-approach-biblical has 26,586 views since 19th October 2014 or 30 days ago. The average reads per day is 886 The Deception of Malachi thread https://www.nairaland.com/1472237/deception-malachi-3-10-11-devourer has 12,839 views since 10th October 2013 or 404 days ago. The average read is 31 And finally Bidam's New Testament Prophets... https://www.nairaland.com/1977834/new-testament-prophets-defined has 1,175 views since 2nd November or 16 days ago. The average reads per day is 73 SO clearly ROR is among the least impactful and besides, you post soft copies of Rhapsodies which I presume (correct me if am wrong) are not freely available. I wonder what would happen if you shared the entire book at once in its soft. Oyaks already has a sizeable following so you can't possibly claim impact on this basis. Real impact would be non CE members who read your thread ignoring the religious folks who click there for freebies There is no divorce brouhaha, nobody wished it on him and if they did I wonder why they succeeded. But somebody here wished me death by a car crash and my family narrowly escaped death through the same last weekend. SO may be these things work Emails are subjective, it is your word against anybody's not to mention the brand you carry; CE and probably how active you are on NL and for how long The point is none of those parameters are proper measure of impact and you would do well not to dwell on the trivial. The other day, your side was up in arms over 'likes' Gombs: |

vooks: Vooks, I think you are smarter than this. ROR thread is not a discussion thread, it is a devotional thread. All the ones you mentioned are discussions, some made front page. RoR has been on for long, the oldest (maybe I'm wrong) standing thread with daily updates. Buddy, I know those who get updates there for their whatsapp and facebook posts... in average, no less than 1, 500 is reached daily. Now, my joy is the word going out, lives changing, unlike some with the tear down, pull down syndrome. They type away, criticizing and castigating, but never making an impact themselves. 1 Like |

Re: The Midas Touch- A Balanced Approach To Biblical Prosperity - Kenneth Hagin by vooks: 8:04am On Nov 18, 2014 |
Well, it is a devotional you have zero part in. You are Oyaks foot soldier. Quite possible you don't even read whatever you post. Which is why I wonder if most of those who read it are not CE members already and if they could not access the information other way. Do you have members who don't use the devotional on a daily basis? Jehovah's Witnesses are meticulous record keepers of every Awake,Watchtower,New World Translation they gave, homes visited, members witnessed to. They had special forms even for clocking the hours they put. Ask paulgrundy. It is a WORKS system. Cults relish WORKS. It is the only way to keep members in check, reminding them of dire consequences. WORKS is the only thing that gives them relevance and a sense of entitlement. You won't find GRACE in cults because GRACE is liberating. Gombs: |

Gombs: Even Rev Sun Myung Moon in all his erraticity had millions of deluded followers No. God isn't against a multitude but the painful truth and reality is that a multitude will never embrace the truth in any generation. Of course if you add up all the "few" of the last 2000 years of Christianity, you'll get a "multitude" but compared to the sea of humanity that have lived within this period, that "multitude" pales into significant insignificance (for emphasis pls ). An effect of rushing for multitude is your branch pastor telling Jeff he contracted HIV because he didn't pay first fruits. Of course I trust you or oyaks don't believe that nonsense. Its better to get one person knowing the truth than building an empire of spiritual zombies feeding on junk. 3 Likes |

According to Christ Embassy theology, can somebody contract diseases because of not tithing or paying first-fruits? Candour: |

vooks: I was caught aback seeing you make a statement like this. 1) I will like to know your definition of works 2) your understanding of GRACE 3) when 'grace' was fully initiated by God. It is very much pertinent to understanding the tongue or unknown tongue issue, so sincere answers required. |

You mean there still is something to understand concerning the dichotomy between 'speaking in an unknown tongue' and 'speaking in tongues'? shdemidemi: |

vooks: You see, if you go into past tithe threads, you'll see their true beliefs on the issue. This tactical distancing from Malachi 3 is a recent development prompted by the realisation that folks are getting wiser about the lies. One even opened a thread standing on Malachi 3 to call non-tithers criminals. Thank God even Hagin has corrected them in his book. 2 Likes |

shdemidemi: Another one: John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 2:24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 2:25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. 2 Likes |

I read markMiwerds post to the effect that even Creflo Dollar has changed his stance on malachi. He recently taught that non-tithers are not cursed. He also mentioned other pro-tithers who are revising their position on this. Isn't it funny how they cling to these beliefs yet they are so embarrassed of sharing or admitting the same? Somebody is ASHAMED of the 'gospel' they peddle. Their consciences must be pricking them BIG Candour: |

vooks: But what we forget is that this is not the only incomefrom this pastors they go more now about sowing seed because that will bering the same money and that people buy their books, like I give you 10 books and you will sell it and the seller give 90% to the write of the book and 10% stay with the seller of the book. I got this information from a friend in America when I ask him she should help me with this book about the healing of this 10 people. |
