Breaking News...Nigerian Army Enters Sambisa Forest On Rescue Mission. by benuejosh: 7:40am On Nov 18, 2014
As part of the steps to rescue the abducted 219
Chibok girls, the Defence Headquarters has
confirmed that troops are already in Sambisa Forest
where the girls are purportedly being held hostage.
The DHQ was however silent on the next line of
action claiming only that the military has a “major
plan” in the offing. It said that contrary to
insinuations, Nigerian soldiers are trained for
counter-terrorism. The Director of Defence
Information, Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade made the
disclosure at a session with Editors and Defence
Correspondents, which was organized by Nigerian
Initiative, a non-governmental organization active in
the redefinition of Nigerians’ perception of their
country. He said: “What makes it difficult to get to
Sambisa Forest? All of it is strategic, gentlemen. We
are not even completely out of Sambisa Forest as I
am talking to you. We are in Sambisa Forest and we
are in places contiguous to it. “But we have a major
plan in mind which I should not be disclosing now.
We are not weak, we have the capacity.”
Meanwhile fears were yesterday raised that Boko
Haram terrorists may have relocated the over 200
abducted girls of Government Secondary School,
Chibok and other abducted victims from Sambisa
forest to their new haven in Balmo Forest, which
borders Borno and Bauchi states.

Wait oo, who/what are they going to rescue?? Wildlife??

Shouldn't they be sweeping the ragheads out of our towns and captured territories??

I really don't get their drift.

Boko haram has strong logistics backup hence infiltration tactics highly essential to cut off their supply line and render them incapable of replenishment.

I am just tired of all this "egg" wey una dey "breaking breaking" every day. This breaking of news without source or atleast picture, something concrete.
Okay, even the wording. You say you are going to rescue what? Is it the missing plane? Wildlife? 200 Girls? That one you say is secret.
If you are a parent, friend or relation of this little girls and everyday they keep giving/dashing you/your hope of seeing them the stroke that would have fired you by now would have been heard in Osun groove.
Pls, stop breaking this news to us and START SHOWING THESE GIRLS TO US. God will bless you as you do this.

That's the job of the media. Direct your statements to Olukolade! I am surprised he hasn't been sacked by now, Back in September the same man raise the false alarm that the adopted girls are freed but later retract his statement. BBC and Aljazeera break the news. Would you blame them?

Almost three states have been lost to boko haram and our army all of a sudden now has a grand plan to attack sambisa forest. The same sambisa forest that they have refused to attack in the last three years. So, who are they deceiving? They should start by reclaiming the lost territories before talking of attacking sambisa forest.

Where are the real Nigerian Soldiers of old,the pride of our Nation ,the Defenders of Africa ? The present crop of pot-bellied and highly corrupt Generals have brought more shame than glory to the country. Who is talking about Sambisa forest again when Nigeria territories are being lost on a daily basis to some rag-tag militia. Reclaim the lost territories ,bring back the Chibok Girls and restore your own pride as a foremost Army in Africa.

Nigeria is not a weak Nation, pls stop portraying us as such.

We are simply tired of stories !

they should just nuke the forest and put it to rest.

infact, they should just nuke the whole north so that we can progress in this country. They are the clog in our wheel of progress.

I don't understand this military's way of announcing their every move. It seems they can't make any strategic move without announcing it to the media even before they do it. Wars aren't necessarily fought in the media. I feel the military should have refrained until they have taken over sambisa forest before announcing to the public. If the soldiers are driving from one point to another the army spokesman will announce it. No wonder the boko haram insurgents are adept at laying ambush for our soldiers. God help us.
