I was in a public bus on Sunday, two girls was setting at the front seat and discussing the diabolic, busybody and bad altitude of mothers in laws.It got to a point when one of them said she don't want to meet her future mother in law alive and the other girl said amen. Immediately i said may your own daughter in law (when ever that may be )not meet you alive and 6 guys from the back chorused amen.Come see quarrel and shouts of back to sender from them!
See i know some mother in law got A1 in nagging,busybody and like meddling in a matter that concerns them not but that's not a criteria to judge all mothers in laws and even going as far as wishing they died before you step in. My two elder brothers are married,their wives and my mumsy are cool, very friendly, My only sister cannot stay a minute without talking good of her mother in law.
All in all i think it depends on the family your are coming from. If you are known for challenging and questioning your mum's authority you will surely have problem with your mother in law. PATIENT, LOVE and HUMILITY should be your amour and believe me with this three things,coupled with prayer you can conquer any evil mother in law(if at all she is ).

Though a Yoruba, I must admit this is common among the Yoruba people. Among the Yoruba, when a lady is delivered of a baby, it is her mother-in-law that visits, to take care of the baby. But among the Igbo, it is the mother of the lady that visits, to take care of the baby (omugwo). A lady can easily blend with her mother than her mother-in-law.

seriously, its all about been patience and when you learn how to ignore sum of d tins dey do or say, definitely they is going to be peace in that home, and u will always be seen as d best....But ehnn..is not an easy task at all o, some mother-inlaw can be so annoying, may God cont. to give d knowledge to be with dem!
