Hello Nairalanders,

Happy Weekend,

Lets explore this topic to help ourselves get better prepared for any e-commerce job interview.

QUESTION: How much does JUMIA, KAYMU and OTHER e-commerce sites pay as salary packages, allowances e.t.c to their MERCHANT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST or MARKETER, other Positions.

N.B- Please do your research first; let your comments be truthful and very current. Lets help one another to be better informed whist going for their interviews, and as regards the question "what is your salary expectation?"

Thanks for commenting.

I know about Kaymu, I got a job back then which I didn't accept for the position of Marchant Acquisition Specialist, Port Harcourt, the basic pay was 50K plus commission, so the more you get clients to link their products and services with Kaymu your commission pay would increase.

Was there any transport allowance?, were you given gadgets, like ipad or laptop to work with? was there any training about the job?

I have been in the ecommerce industry for up to three years and I can at least give some insights into any of your enquiries.

If it is about career growth and prospects in ecommerce you can ask me here: www.nairaland.com/1992375/recruitment-processes-career-insights

However, if it is about this merchant acquisition job you can ask me on this thread by victor101

It depends but I believe the salary is across all board.
I know dealdey pays full time marketers 80k for a start and 120k after three months.
You will be under insurance (health and the rest) plus pension.

The best ecommerce that pays marketers well is www.buyam.com.ng
100k for a start plus marketing vehicle and very minimal targets.

Check their site.
I think its careers@morpheusltd.com or send to support@buyam.com.ng They are both their emails.

I however believe that major recruitments is currently on hold there.

Nairamode gooday, from my research someone told me their monthly pay is 55k + commission.
5k weekly transport allowance, how true is this, my source is from kaymu P.H

in your above post you mentioned : 700 naira Smart phone with postpaid 4k and 700mb . is that how cheap the smart phone is? 700naira. is the phone subscription monthly?

You are funny.
700 naira smart phone? Where did I mention that?.
I said commission on every seller brought is like 700 naira there about.
It's a lovely smart phone they will give you.

PH might enjoy 55k and 5k transport because of how expensive the city is. But only PH enjoys that.
Phone subscription is monthly and laptop subscription is monthly.

It's not a bad job at all if you have the flair for marketing.
Understand however, that it is not marketing per say as you are helping these businesses you will be bringing to the platform make more money.
In short, you are simply helping them.
The targets also is achievable and KAYMU is lenient.

Increment, well I dont know but I know all companies reward diligence and performance. No tax no deduction. What is specified is what you will get.
