Boko Haram only exists on less than 0.1% of Nigerian land territory

.

Is good how you undermine and reduce them into Ragtag's, but that's not what the world sees with the way you handle them. They really give you a hike for your money.

Dont need to, hawks dont need the pods to target for PGM's

All they need is LinkZA

But here you go

Ok.

So you are saying that: despite having all the information you need to lock onto a target

You cannot

Because..... well... because you say so

Do you even know what ISTAR is?

I dont have to show you anything. You have to show us that data-link cannot be used to deploy weapons.

Nigerian ISTAR puts NAF 66 years ahead od SANDF-SAAF....I should be asking if your Soweto military Generals know what ISTAR is grin

Individual weapon/ordanance needs lock on to h.it target and launcher platform MUST be withing weapon-target range limits.

Sorry you still playing catch up. Sure your 2 MPAs can find targets but that is it. The gripen and hawk can both find and attack said targets. We all so have more tyes of ISRT sytems than you have aircrafts.

you must be a boko haram agent in diaspora,if not you will agree that these terrorists operate in coordinated units, and are spread out all over the north-east and cameroon,so its very easy for them to attack different places at the same time.who told you that the terrorist "withdraw from one town and capture another"?,most of them are usually killed during military raid, and the rest of them captured, only few escape.

How do you detect target without you too being detected and attacked ?

You have SANDF radar inside Nigerian side of the dividing frontline?

South Africa has NO Satellite, so forget GPS

Hawk jets have no targeting pod, so forget that too.

Best is Hawk may have FLIR with very short range and gets too close to target, gets shot down by Nigerian air defences

You cannot attack mobile target without a lock on radar or FLIR.

Data link is only for information telecoms NOT for locking on targets .

Show me where NATO said their jets used data links to lock on targets and attack

Dream on dreamer !
.

Talk about changing the subject.

Easy, by using passive systems.

They don't need to be behind the enemy line, our mobile radar can still cover hundreds KM behind enemy line while being behind our own.

All GPS is run by the USAF, no matter what country, even that garmin you bought uses USAF. By the point is Moot, we use INS to, in fact GPS is a bad idea since EW can effect it.

Actually the hawks do have targeting pods.

Sorry, they have far better systems than your 2 MPAs

Yes you can, SA hit many a moving target in the 1970s and 1980s with out radar, IR or any thing.

Data link is for sending data, including targeting data. Aka here is a target for you to shoot.

Why NATO?

Thank you for proving me right with the bolded part of your comment.....Data-link is a mere radio telecoms device, NOT a weapon for targeting and locking on enemy.

Data-link only communicates by radio of information to you, it's up to you to go locate that target, get withing firing range, acquire/track target, lock on target, fire on target when you are withing firing range.

You Soweto guys will soon say the tyres of your APCs are weapons because you can drive it over people's heads when they lie down grin grin

Tell me lies that Russia and China depend on America for satellite positioning.

Satellite is the only global means of identifying a targets accurate position, South Africa has NO satellite, Nigeria has 3 Satelites so our military is strategically more powerful than your blind bat SANDF that cannot see beyond it's nose.

Nigerian army can see Jacob Zuma undressed in his swimming pool grin

Satellite gives you the true and sustainable position tracking of a target.

No source to prove SAAF Hawks have the compatible targeting pods because not any pod can work on any aircraft.

Nigerian NAF ATR-42 can radar lock-on multiple dozens of targets 330 km away at the same time, SAAF cannot and CANNOT do that.

NAF Alpha jets have been targeting fast moving enemy vehicles since 20 years ago till today.

SAAF is asleep at home for the past 20 years with ZERO modern day combat experience

Targeting pod.

I see one Hawk, one Gripen, one thing that looks like a targeting pod....for the Gripen, unless you can prove SAAF imported Hawk compatible targeting pods because the ones for Gripen cannot work with the Hawk due to software incompatibility.

I need proof of Hawk targeting pod, what is the name of the Hawk targeting pod? Gripen uses Lightening targeting pod.

Name the pod for the Hawk and prove it was software and hardware integrated for compatibility.

SIPRI says the British who sold Hawk jet to you did NOT sell targeting pod for it, to SAAF grin grin

shows just how miss informed you are.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLONASS

Satlites are some of the worst means since they only spend a brief time over there target area. They useless in tactical needs.

Sure they can, if the satlite is over that area at that time of day meaning the rest of the area is not being watched and rember SA has satlite tracking stations. So we will know where the blind spots are.

And that information is useless, why do you think GPS is used against static targets, I will give you a hint, it the word static.

SAAF Hawks where integrated with the same pods used on the cheeta C.

Other than or range of mobil radars. Any case your ATRs have no means to prosecute targets and there comms can be jammed making them useless. They can see but that is all, And using that radar gives away there position to.

And your point is what? could any of those guys deploy weapons to shoot back at the alpha jets?

And NAF spends there days shooting at pic up trucks where SAAF spends there time training to fight a war vs a actual threat.
