Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by duni04(m): 2:23pm On Nov 21, 2014 |
This thing is basic demand and supply. It could be that people are anxious of a rally next week and mopping up value stocks against next week hance the late day rally. Its not enough to just sit in the corner and wait for oando to fall to 17 naira or transcorp to fall to 3.1, and when it doesn't, you say there is manipulation. If u wan enter enter. If not sit down quietly. 6 Likes |

duni04: I still disagree with you. Yes, the NSE is driven by demand and supply but that doesnt stop the price from being manipulated. I stated it some minutes ago when i noticed some price manipulations in UBA. Definitely somebody wanted to peg the price at a cheaper amount to enable him buy. UBA was almost on full bid, then all of a sudden someone crashes the price then they quickly mop it all up. Same that happened in FBHN plc. Oando and Transcorp where lossing heavily and all of a sudden things changed (WHen 1459 has almost reached a sudden reversal happens and everything is being mopped up.) The only thing i can conclude for all the people doing JIJO is that no one can time the market. 1 Like |

is it now that u guys r noticing that nse stock prices r bin manipulated by some people tru those on the floor to suite themselves? u guys ought to have known better. havent u noticed that in some cases, a stock might just be on full bid now and b/4 u know it, 4 no reason it enters full offer. this is what u get wen a country is neck deep in corruption. every thing goes sour! |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by duni04(m): 2:47pm On Nov 21, 2014 |
Born2berich:Maybe you think its only people on NSEMPA that trade shares. I know it can be very annoying but the reality is not everybody has access to live feeds. Someone on another platform for instance may see a price at N2 at 12pm, not knowing that plenty of bargains would have been made between 12pm and 1pm, and then place an order at a ridiculous price by 1pm. There are plenty of other reasons for crazy prices apart from manipulation. I'm not saying manipulations don't happen, I don't even know. But this is my own theory of how crazy prices come up. 2 Likes |

When the directors of Nigerian companies decide that sitting in on board meetings constitutes the definition of a boring activity and they decide that it's much more fun to play JIJO with their stock holdings, who is to blame please? Allow them have some fun please. I understand that the NSE game annoys peeps, just like the casino-approximation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange annoys Emma Ewumi. We live in exciting times. 1 Like |

stokfrick: Sir, well said. Tell me which countries or continent in the world that doesn't practice or engaged in the bolded? Am not trying to encourage such but believe me it happened in Europe, America, Asia, etc. So just play your own card right. That is why it is called stock market...! 3 Likes |

duni04: Why would i think that it is only people on NSEMPA that trade share. However, If thats is the case, explain what happened when for example, a bidder is ready to buy a stock @N5 then someone who wants to sell instead of accepting the bid decides to sell his own share at N4.6? Why sell lower than the bid price offer that is waiting to be sold to? Then towards the end of the trading session it suddenly just rallies and evrything shoots upwards. |

For the umpteenth time, being a prophet or pessimist is not the evil itself, the evil is expressing probabilities with a high level of certainty and confidence. Whoever does that is not only evil, but also grossly ignorant. Whether you read 10 newspapers in a day or you work close to Oscar Onyeama, that should not give you the audacity to propound panic or recruit monkeys...even if you think you're helping your BnSitl. Pray, if anyone needs some acid to "shut their mouth", they really need to be pitied! @PW and Oga kotlass: your comments show you have good understanding. Kudos. 2 Likes |

Born2berich:Bro everyones objective is ultimately to make money. It may be true that people with heavy wallets deliberately up the bid prices with tashere change just so they can sell millions or bilions, and the other way round with offer prices. If I had thet kind of money me sef go do am. As long as its not illegal. |
