has it always been like that or is it getting worse. If it's getting worse, that might mean ure taking substances that are causing exogenous stains on ur teeth. So u can do teeth whitening called bleaching, done by use of hydrogen peroxide or use of composite in cases where the stain is mild and involves a few teeth.

yh, u can do it by urself. But due to the technicalities involved, it's better for it to be done for u professionally by a dentist.

Thanks 4 ur write up on mouth oduor. I hv a very chronic mouth odour. I grow up to see if I talk people turn their mouth away. I hv use al sort of mouth wash, no way. Is really embarassing. I hv seen about two doctor dou not dentist bt al dey can say is I should try some mouth wash which is not working. Pls any suggestion. NB. I hv a very white teeth. No colouring, hole or bleeding.

the best bet is for u to come over and let's carry out proper investigations and treatment. It's cheaper in the longer run compared to first aid treatment nd would advice u to come as soon as possible. U can buy ibuprofen and take it 400mg 8 hourly for 5 days.

I maintain a fairly good oral hygiene (brushing twice), nd i use oral B toothbrush nd paste buh I hav noticed blood spottings wen I brush...hw can dis be remedied? Do I need 2 b alarmed?

Yes, it can be remedied nd dere is no cause for alarm. The major cause of bleeding gums or gingivitis is due to plaque accumulation. What u need to do is come to the clinic, nd professional cleaning of your teeth known as scaling and polishing will be done for u, which will remove this plaque and calculus, cos dey can't be removed by brushing.

Thank you for following. The tooth is probably carious I. E there is a hole in your tooth, its infected and that is what is causing u pain. If the pain comes after u've eaten, u would just have to do an amalgam filling, but if the pain comes on its own, u would have to do a root canal treatment. U could come over to LUTH to get treatment done, nd if u come over, call me on 08063730309.

Please I have a slight tender swelling at the lower side of my left cheek just a bit lower than my ear. I don't know if it has to do with oral or dental health.
I will give you a brief history of my oral and dental health.
I am ashamed to say I have never been to a dentist even thought I have had off and on bleeding gum since childhood. In fact it persisted till I was introduced to sensodyne. In fact it usually comes back if I should off it, before then, I am usually very careful when brushing cos the pain is usually excruciating whenever the brush mistakenly touch that end of molars and gum. Even chewing on that side of the cheek is painful till I started forcing myself to chew gum with side to exercise it.
Please I need your advice on the right doctor to consult.
And is there any test I can undergo that will not have any adverse effect on the baby as I'm pregnant. I'm so concerned cos it seems the swelling has worsened with the pregnancy.
