I would like to continue from zyzxx suggestions, could you please remove the battery and
pop it back in. Follow zyzxx previous advice and immediately keep pressing f8 continuously
until you see advance boot option, please follow zyzxx previous advice. When did the laptop stopped working ? If no joy, could I ask you to restart the machine and keep pressing F10 for bios and run me an hard drive short test. I choose a short test because of lack of electricity in some places (My view). If you have a constant electricity, please run me a long test. please let us know the result of the test. furthermore, could you check to make sure no cd dvd is inside the laptop and no peripherals attached such as usb stick or any removable devices.

f8 won't enter safe mode on window 8 bro.

My laptop (HP 650) was working perfectly before i travelled. But since I came back, the A, L and capslock keys aren't working anymore... It didn't fall, I used it a night before I travelled and it worked fine.

I tried restoring to 1:30pm today..........it didn't work......should I choose another date
Note- I installed nba 2k14 on my system yesterday and it didn't work.....it just displays a blank screen for about 2 seconds like it wants to open, then it closes on its own.......it was after this I discovered that copy aand paste is not workin....

tanks for ur suggestipn,will try it once there is light..actually I installed virtual machine to load an application dat needs to restart d system..at d point of restarting Dats wen it started coming up with the blinking cursor..Infact I tried re installing another windows 7..but to my surprise after d whole installation process and preparing system for first time stuff..d system restarted and continued wit the blinking cursor again oo!!!
