Which one has he built in the east apart from warehouse for dumping of Dangote cemenet in the east for igbo money whilst the jobs are kept out of the east? I strongly believe that does opposed to Ibeto venture in ebonyi are his distributors with some having collected bribe to frustrate Ibeto. For how long can Ndiigbo continue to be used left, right and center, before we stand? The state has no business with industry investment apart from collecting tax and regulations law. Ibeto should be allowed to replicate this in Ebonyi and create jobs. 9 Likes

dontjealousme1: It is a sad day for umuigbo that we have both resources and entrepreneur with capital to revive Ebonyi cement industry and we turn him away becos he is from Anambra. I expected Ebonyi gov to place a condition on him to build the cement industry as big as the picture above built by dangote even if he has to get loan like dangote. Truily sad! 7 Likes |

Calculia: It is beyond tragic what shortsightedness and lack of seeing the big picture can do to condemn one into perpetual poverty and misery. Mind you, Nkalagu cement is the best limestone deposit in West Africa. In South Africa, many prosperous communities have sprung up from cement factories in their area. Such can be replicated in Ebonyi state with proper leadership and legislation.Dangote may truly be bribing those people to frustrate Ibeto just to maintain his monopoly in Eastern Cement business. Just imagine that all the billions of naira that Igbos at home and in diaspora spend to build houses in the East and elsewhere in Nigeria which is funneled into Dangote Cement, a company that has refused to invest a penny in the SE, but will come and dump their cement to siphon our money to build plants elsewhere. The SE is the ONLY region of Nigeria Dangote refused to invest. Dangote even imports and use Tanzanian coal to produce the cement he sells to us. The same Dangote is building a coal powered electricity plant there in Tanzania, when we have better quality coal in Enugu and we are one his biggest customers? http://constructionreviewonline.com/2014/11/10/dangote-seeks-license-build-coal-power-plant-tanzania/ http://africanenergyresources.com/media/articles/Recent/20141013-Dangote--039-s-surging-cement-activities-propel-Tanzanian-coal-investment-425/2014-10-06-Dangote-s-surging-cement-acitivities-propel-Tanzanian-coal-investment.pdf 4 Likes |

cjrane: Bath Nnaji quit his very well paid job to revolutionise the power sector in the east but one Emeka Offor is fustrating that venture on request of the Vice President Sambo. Soludo also comes to mind and even Ihejirika is fustrated by the failure T.A Orji who wants to force his candidate on Abians. Stella Odua also comes to mind though she will get the senate, which is good. The problem is Igbos have too many lions in the house and pussycats outside in face of other groups that make up Nigeria. Ibeto must be allowed to set sail, it is over-due. Just look at Uyo Akwa Ibom, very soon igbos will go there to fight for bread and they will repeat the Rivers Treatment of 1960s , wen will fail to take up and utilise our very rare opportunity. https://www.nairaland.com/1256550/uyo-city-peace-beauty-pictures/63 1 Like |

Dangote even imports and use Tanzanian coal, when we have better quality coal in Enugu? Oh! No wonder i keep crying for my igbo brothers, God never intended for Ndiigbo to suffer or be poor, he blessed us immensely. Wen u don't know your blessings then it will be taken away from you like esau did to Jacob. I see that happening everyday with certain groups taking away everything that belongs to ndiigbo. 1 Like |

Calculia: @ the bolded, Igbo are immensely blessed but our problems are 1. Individualism 2. Copycat ideas instead of strategic reasoning to generate own ideas. Individualism: Although the Igbos are hardworking like a donkey, they usually cannot work together to achieve a greater objective.Unlike many other groups in Nigeria, certain things can only be achieved by pulling together. Therefore, the Igboman continues to suffer from her inability to pull their massive presence and resources together. Copycatism: Perhaps due to the type of education we receive nowadays which puts emphasis on cramming. Recently, the typical Igboman is unable to think independently and break new grounds. This has robbed us of our natural ability to be great innovators and inventors. Today, every innovation must be COPIED from an originator, usually some white guy. The bad side of this is that if in a country like Nigeria, where there is a state conspiracy that nobody should develop our resources, then we suddenly have nothing to copy! Therefore we will simply sit there in poverty watching our God given resources waste without having any clue of what to do with them. Instead we run to set up oil servicing companies because we can copy what the whites are doing, whereas with half of the money, we could set up lucrative small factories using coal and other abundant resources that we have. This is why i believe we should encourage every state to document all the resources and minerals we have and hold seminars to enlighten our business people on how they can invest and become richer using the minerals, while creating jobs and paying taxes to the government. Imagine that SE Nigeria has one of the most abundant ceramic deposit in the world. Yet all the tiles used in building houses, making tile floors and bathrooms etc, is imported from China ? WHY?? The ceramic factory at Umuahia has not received investors to modernize and expand into economically viable lines of production. Why not set up a huge modern industry using our God given resources, instead of waiting for others to set it up for us to copy? Ceramics has many uses in the building industry and not just for making plates and old pots for water in the villages. I'm sure Oga Spyder would love to build a kitchen with this type of ceramic table-top design, Ceramic bathroom tiles and Ceramic floor tiles for our people. If we can set up the factory locally to start using our own God given resources. 1 Like

My brother i saw the card those Ebonyi lawmakers and their cohorts in state executive are playing and i puke, someone said Ibeto want to take the coy from backdoor and i shaked my damn head. The state that should be in forefront and ahead of other in seeking for investors in SE should be Ebonyi State no matter what. I will always tell who care to listen that there is nothing like bad investor, a bad investor with good investment is better than no investment atall. One thing i love about Chima Nnamani is this, despite that he looted public fund, all the investments were located in the city, providing services and jobs to many people. Now Nnamani have not being convicted, Rainbownet and Cosmos FM are no more, jobs lost services gone, businesses suffered directly and indirectly because during Rainbownet Revolution internet connectivity was sweet in SE. Not allowing Ibeto to invest in Nkalagu shouldnt be problem but the inability to attract another investor to take over the coy should be regarded as a capital offence. Many states are giving out lands freely to investors, some govts are being blinded by sentiments, any form of investor should be encouraged bc a faulty clock is correct twice a day. dontjealousme1: 3 Likes |

''You are all witnesses to the unwarranted attacks on me in the media and through other platforms orchestrated by some of my brothers but that will not change my ways. We have a fully refurbished and digitized ESBS (Enugu State Broadcasting Service) with radio and television arms with such a very wide reach but we will never use it against our people. cjrane: It is a big problem, becos though destiny is God given, u must fight to retain them. I see a situation where other tribes are taking our destiny becos of these in-house lions. Systematically, in-house lions should be tamed or caged and our culture/ cultural practice updated. It should be a silent cultural revolution. The suggestion you advocate below is invaluable, ndiigbo have lost so much time and will lose so much more with other dominant players in Nigeria against us. The time for action is now. cjrane: 2 Likes |

InyinyaAgbaOku: spyder880: @InyinyaAgbaOku exactly ibeto will buy his own land, possibly offer shares to people that own the land the limestone is found. A quota system can be used to allocate a higher share of employment to Ebonyi people and then to other southeast state. @spyder880 The whole southeast appears to have an emerging economic structure that have seen various state having dominance in various industry. i.e. Ebonyi resource processing industry, Anambra commerce/engineering, Abia manufacturing industry, Imo Agriculture, Rural tourism and Cultural centre, Enugu is a Knowledge based centre for information, media and communications. Other sectors are Technology and if we can create a system to pull together the states and make investment based on geo-economic spectrum, we will be on our way. It is vital that the provincial sectors are carried along. |

spyder880: Oga m Spyder, Where i have seen this, the entire unit is sold together as the Kitchen unit, with the kitchen sink, water forcet and wooden cabinet together as one unit. So once it is bought, the plumbers and the bricklayers will now install it in the kitchen unit by connecting the water pipes which run under the kitchen floor. The difference is that Kitchen table abroad sits in the center of the kitchen, a design which has not caught on with the Naija elite. But, if a few people try it out, it will begin to reign as our things always turn out. I don't know the processes involved in turning ceramic into hardened porcelain. I suspect it is the same way they make the plates. But it looks like they reinforce it with something, perhaps tiny steel wire gauze. The way builders when decking buildings reinforce the decking by using rods plated together like a mat, before pouring the concrete. Anyhow, all you need to learn is how to replicate the same magic using cement and concrete. If you know how to make Terrazzo floors, you can adapt the same process in making these beautiful concrete kitchen counter tops and toilet bowls. But you must polish it to make the final product of high quality and very desirable like a polished Terrazzo floor. Then partner with a carpenter (cabinet maker) that will make the kitchen cabinets which you will lay the counter top.The carpenter (Cabinet maker) may also help you with making exclusive designs for each kitchen. So that each house gets a custom designed counter top for their kitchen. I'm sure many luxury homes in Naija will pay for such kitchen counter tops than the regular wooden counter tops we use. You can adopt this method below to make the kitchen counter tops. Very importantly you can use (Cement) concrete to make that counter top just adding different colors of your choice. You can make it red, green, grey, brown or White like Terrazzo floors etc depending on the choice of the customer. Very importantly, like Terrazzo floors, they are polished until they shine. So it's hard to know they are concrete and not ceramic. The process is exactly like how we make red cement concrete floors.Adding a mesh of very tiny rods for reinforcement is wise, because many people will be in the habit of sitting on their kitchen counter tops. You can try it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNmJr7cQlkQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de7DoRhDYtQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Bisrho_22M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaYU2znsLb0 This is the industrial way of tiles making. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6UHfRXLwGI Hand made ceramic tiles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozk62FuD8jY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rawAPM_ksSQ You can also make ceramic vase for house interior decorations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpFCaHMjlhA Some Terrazzo counter tops below

Again, nobody is fraustrating anybody here but the right channel should be honored. It will really give hope to many looking for cheaper alternatives for building their homes. Concrete sinks and toilet bowl may be cheaper alternatives in low income houses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ctBTFRDoys

spyder880: I have always said that one single thing that makes America wealthy is that their first instinct is to make everything they use with local materials available within their country. For the Nigerian, his first instinct is to IMPORT. This makes everything we use in Nigeria expensive and affordable to the average Nigerian. China is similarly becoming great by fabricating every tool or amenity they use from local materials in China. Actually, one can easily make that plastic mold used in the video or even ask these fabricator welders to make the mold desired. Once one begins to make these high quality and durable sinks with concrete and even add your own trade mark to it,people will embrace it. |
