It seems that the job of the presidency according to his supporters is just to attend functions and sign documents on behalf of Nigeria. According to them, the President is not responsible for anything. Should he go and fight insurgents in the forest? Is he the one that locked the National assembly gates? How was he to know that people were stealing subsidy money? The recruitment that killed Nigerians that wanted immigration jobs; he wasn't aware! Oduagate...he wasn't aware. He had no idea naira would fall. His opposition are criticizing him too much so he cant concentrate on his job. These people act as if he is some child that has to be led through his job and pampered by his adversaries. He is the effing commander in chief of my country. He campaigned for the job. He is campaigning again for it. It is a CEO job. You hire and fire. You build a team. you build teams. you set out a vision. You monitor progress. And most importantly you take credit when things go right and RESPONSIBILITY when it goes wrong. 30 Likes 5 Shares |

Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, the alleged mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blast is said to have been radicalised while studying at university in South Wales, a report published inDaily MailFriday revealed. Ogwuche who dubbed himself ‘The Lion of God’ threatened to cut the hands and feet of non-believers while he was living in Britain. The 29-year-old who was said to have escaped to Sudan was declared wanted by security authorities early in the week. But the terror kingpin was arrested by the Interpol in the Islamic country on suspicion of carrying out terror attacks in Nigeria which killed more than 90 people. |

The evidence against him may have been very weak. This is a country that finds it hard to capture data. We need to go back to the basics. Is this story true sef? 1 Like |

It is possible that he had nothing to do with the bombing. If so, good for him. The Security should have a water-tight case before going to court. Incompetence everywhere. I remember the presidential spokesmen were beating their chests over the quick nature of capture forgetting that they had to build a solid case against the accused first. 4 Likes |

atlwireles: Tell me which agency or government institution is working well in Nigeria. If you say it did not start with this government, fine... Now tell me which government agency or institution is undergoing semblance of any reform. We have been complaining about Nigeria police for so long. They have not done anything to change that organization. Nothing! Now the SSS that used to be more efficient is too busy pursuing political opponents to become anything like the FBI in USA or MI5 or the MOSSAD. You cant prosecute without evidence. 1 Like |

Am not surprised. If Mohammed yusuf could be freed from jail before those who jailed him later killed him. Why won't Aminu be freed too, beside Muslims are majority in Nigerian govt. |

The judiciary is an organ of government in charge of prosecution. Only f00ls will keep blaming the Executive arm of government for verdicts of the judiciary. I do not know why nairaland attracts so many illiterates. Matters of this nature are not subject to court of public opinion. The judicial system knows their job. |

When you hear, Nigerians commenting like this then you will understand why jungle judgments are rampant in the country (even among the so-called elites). Court of public opinion is not the same as the court of law. Judges are supposed to deliver judgments based on the facts and evident before them and not on sentiments and emotions, and if the prosecutors have not convincing evidence to nail the accused then it will be wrong for the Judge to convict him(the accused) for the mere fact that majority of the people think he is guilty. The onus of burden is on the accuser (prosecutor) to prove to the Judge that the accused is indeed guilty and in a situation where is prosecutor is unable to so, the Judge will have to throw out the case. The police and DSS need real training in intelligence gathering and settle down to do proper investigations on cases (of national interest) which is supposed to be their real duty instead of becoming political and thuggish. |
