Nigerians never seize to amaze me. You want quality education, you gat to pay for it. There is no free lunch in freetown. However, we should learn to demand for the right things like financial aids, grants and educational loans that student can repay as soon as the got something doing after graduation. This will put our policy makers at their toes and further challenge the students to work harder since they cannot avoid paying the loan that took care of their educational need. |

I really hate those guys dat criticise this protest based on the financial cost. We are not dull and dumb m*therf*ckers like u guys who sort refuge in private certificate trading markets called university. We work 4 our results down here. U think all hands are equal huh? Some don't even have sponsors, they just struggle to go to school and u are here saying 60k is no big deal. Other oil producing countries has got almost zero cost fees for education. If u will not help the poor,, leave them alone to help themselves; don't discourage em. Aluta continu!!! 2 Likes |

is that 60k for a semester or a session? sincerely I do not think 60k is too much for a university education fee! But all fees should be accounted for and there should never be a double charge! If there are people who could offer scholarships and subsidise tuition fees, I think they should be encouraged, but 60k, I think is OK! |

Reference:Oga, seize noise! The German universities and others with free tuition, are they less better than Nigerian universities? Is not compulsory that cost must mean higher quality or vice versa. |

What is to blame is the Nigerian system that has turned University degree certificates to a matter of natural progression, and not based on need, eligibility and affordability. |

greggng: Don't generalize when you don't have clear info. Have u ever heard that any private university in Nigeria staged a protest over their fees? Unijos is a federal University and so the students' demands aren't out of place. If ASUU goes on strike from time to time to place financial demands on the government as regards Lecturers' salaries and infrastructural developments, I see no reason why students should still be taxed...... I must also add that NOTHING is being done with the said money as it affects development in the school. Get your facts right pls.... Thanks |
