patches689: NATO and Russian AWACS connot operate in contested air space too, they need escorts like ATR-42 will be escorted. However, with 330km super long range radar, NAF ATR-42 will be operating 230km deep inside Nigerian territory and yet it will be spying 100km deep into South African side of the frontline and relay data of your weapons positions to Nigerian army. F-7 jets will protect the ATR-42, simple common sense. |

patches689: You know, Nigeria has austerity now, with the oil price going crazy. If you thought the Nigerian military wasn't training and wasn't flying training hours, man you ain't seen nothin yet. **** http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=92305 The Federal Government’s recent announcement of new austerity measures aimed at reducing government expenditure while looking in other directions to shore up its revenue base as a result of the dwindling oil revenue sent shivers down the spines of Nigerians. The newly rolled out austerity measures put to rest months of consistent denial by the Federal Government that the country was not broke. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, while announcing the measures aimed at tightening the noose on the economy, insisted that it was on top of the situation and as such, there was no need to panic. Okonjo-Iweala also announced that government was revisiting the $78 per barrel price provided for in the Medium Term Economic Framework (MTEF) as proposed for 2015 budget. The figure, she said, would now be revised and that a new figure of $73 per barrel was being proposed to the National Assembly. In the meantime, she said government would take money from the excess crude account to absorb some immediate shocks, noting that government was not considering printing extra currencies to check the development. 3 Likes |

EVarn: That's what you are making proved by world bank and many sources. What you make from oil has to be shared by all stake holders which the government is also part of the stake holder. |

lezz: You see why Nigeria is messed up. Money goes in the hands of the few, while in SA it goes to companies. MTN alone has more billions which will surpass the sum of all the Nigerian billionaires. MTN asserts are worth more than $450 billion. However, MTN is owned by the SA public, majority of which are black. I also have shares in MTN. 2 Likes 1 Share |

patches689:The R-Darter can be integrated on most aircraft including the Gripen. The only problem is that it is out production. So what's needed is to restart production. But that's unnecessary as the development of the Marlin BVRAAM is underway. |

agaugust:There's no such. That means you don't know how many hours each pilot has flown? How many hours does it take to consider a Nigerian pilot combat ready? Estimations? Are airframes being overworked and poorly maintained as their flying hours aren't know? Nigerian pilots have no carrier after leaving the air force, cause they don't know their flying hours? Cause they'll be less competitive. And can go even further. |
