Good day @ mamatobenna I want to apply for the visa but confused on what type of visa I should go for since am pregnant 7 month already should I apply for a tourist visa or medical visa ?another question is what if I go for the medical visa and I didn't travel for birthing can I still use it for ordinary trip? or the tourist and if they ask I tell if am preggy I tell them yes i don't know am so confused to make a decision. please any one can still answer the question. N/b am planning to travel alone so am showing just my statement and other document like my company introduction letter, my cooperative statement that's up to 1.5m on it, my Nigeria doctors letter about my preggy,my husband letter that his aware that am travelling. What else do you think I should put in place? am thinking of using doctor resparati that's elpaso although I have not made up my mind if am giving birth dere or not just to boost my chances should I contact them and get a letter from them too. just need help plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss |

J utcheylee: Hi utcheylee, Lol. Try to relax a little. Take a deep breathe and then let it out. Now, read what I'm about to say carefully. You have good chances, if you apply alone, considering that you're on a tight budget. Your husband and kids will serve as your strong tie to your home country, so the likelihood of an issuance is quite high for you. You can apply for the general B1/B2 visa. Don't apply for just the B2. The B1/B2 is not as limiting as the B2. If your budget for your trip is N1.5m all-inclusive, you are good to go. Tailor your mind to giving birth in the US, and let that be your purpose for applying, because it would be rather difficult to convince a V.O that you do not intend to give birth in the US, when you are obviously heavily pregnant. In fact, you might end up getting an annotation on your visa, if you stick to this vacation story. So, at this point, I refer you to Phema's infamous burden of proof. It consists of a list of documents you will need for your visa application, in addition to the ones you already have. I cannot remember the exact page Phema's post on the burden of proof is, but you can just do a quick breeze-through to locate the page. About El Paso, now that they have a doctor's appointment and signature attached to their letter of medical responsibility, I think you can go ahead and use them. Check with other recent El Paso mamas like Lindapurple, Virtuousdiva and mumdearest to get good guidance, since they are using the hospital you intend using. If you have further questions after contacting them privately, feel free to ask here. Those with the answers will give it to you. By the way, you don't have much time on your hands, being 7 months pregnant. So get on with your visa application immediately and try to apply to Abuja, for higher chances of issuance. All the best, dear one. 2 Likes |

Hello All, I want to update my ds-160 application form and i understand that a new confirmation number will be generated which will now be different from that on my appointment letter. With this new mail the US embassy sent out recently that the ds 160 confirmation number must match that on the appointment letter. How can I go about updating my profile with the new confirmation number. I have sent mails to their support desk but their instructions are not clear. Please advice |

utcheylee:Dear, i hope you understand that doctors fees are quite different from the hospital fees. In US the billing fees for obs is quite different from what we have at home here in Nigeria. You get a different bill from the doctor and another from the hospital in most cases. Well the gurus will help you out. God's best!! |

Finally our Visa was approved today, with no question. I received a mail yesterday by 4pm to come to Embassy any Tuesday or Thursday of the week by 1:30pm. We got there, with no further question, the Lady (VO) collected our Passport & Application, and said your Visas are approved. A big thank you to Almighty GOD, who gave Nairalanders the grace to pour out enormous knowledge on the procedure for child birth in US. GOD bless you all... U all are my great friend & family... I love u All. Ezemistic: 4 Likes |

Good evening all, First I want to thank you all for your immense contributions to this thread. My family and I have benefitted so much as we have been granted visas today. Our visa interview was scheduled for 8:30am. All was well until Satan decided he was going to his office today. The traffic was just crazy. We got there around 9am only for me to realize I didn't fill DS160 for my wife and daughter (my bad, forgive me). In the midst of my confusion, I went back to the car and sat down to strategize. I called a friend and gave him my daughter's DS160 number and he proceeded to fill the form while I did my wife's own on my mobile phone. As God would have it, their server was down and there was serious back log. So we got the print out and proceeded straight into premises. By this tome it was well past 10am. I didn't bother joining any queue outside, we went straight to the gate and told the security man we were for 8:30am. He let us in. While we were waiting for our turn, I couldn't help but listen in on what I thought was a joke of an interview between a lady VO and one woman who said her husband works in chevron at escravos as an executive director. According to her (in misplaced tenses) her husband was asked to buy a speed boat.... yes speed boat in America so she has decided to go with him so that they can share ideas. She went on and on contradicting herself. Yes Christi, the lady VO just packaged the woman's passport and told her sorry. Blah blah blah ......it was our turn.. VO: what are you going to do in the US? Wife: vacation VO: do u know anyone in the US? Wife: no VO: where will u be going to in the US? Me: Orlando VO: have u traveled as a family before? Me: yes, UK. VO: what for? Wife: summer vacation VO: where do you work? Me: blah blah VO: so what do you do there? Me: I do blah blah blah VO: where do u work madam? Wife: blah blah VO: What do you do there? Wife: I do blah blah blah VO: do you intend to carryout business while in the US? Both of us: NO VO: your visa has been approved, kindly pick it up at one of this locations on Monday. (hands us a paper) No document was asked for. The whole session lasted about 4mins ******sorry for the long story. 11 Likes |

@Utcheylee: Please like someone has side, increase your budget. We don't pray at times for anything to go wrong but you should have a little budget for that anyway. That's Doctorsparati budget of $5410. However, every time you visit paediatrician you are likely to pay $65. Even at that $5410, you should increase it to $6000 1 Like |

SisiOlu:my sister in law had the same problem and after she sent the embassy an email, they said she should cancel the appointment and reschedule and still she can not edit the ds 160. let me know if you are able to resolve it. because you have a limit to which you can cancel and reschedule. |

Welcome back tvegas. Am so happy to hear your wife"s succesful poe story. You really did your homework well, well done sir! That's how to go about it! And thanks for taking time out to type it so others can learn too. God bless you. I wish your wife a very safe and smoooth delivery. We are waiting to pop groundnut. Lol @Ezemistic - congrats o. Shebi I told you it will end in praise, congrats and all the best! @Raii, sorry dear. Those VOs are just too unpredictable. Whateva you decide to do now, just remember that God is with you and He will cause all things to work together for your good. We shall be waiting for your gooooodnews of safe delivery and we will pop one big bottle of groundnut for you too dear. @Flowers - only 2 labs in lagos do GC/Chlam and they have to send the samples to SA for screening that's why its so expensive and it takes nearly one month for the result to come out . Its better and cheaper for you to go do it in america. VDRL is screening for syphillis not GC/Chlam. GC/Chlam, Rubella, Group B Strep, Antibody screening are some of the routine tests they do in america during antenatal, here in naija the doctors don't bother. Lol. So incase your doctor in america is insisting you do those tests, just say you'll come and do them over there and don't stress yourself here in naija. Meanwhile, it appears that people have generally fashied mihs since their price review. Lol. Naija no dey carry last. People don port finish! Cheers 2 Likes |

Naija no dey carry last at all. My Friend told me there is only one naija momma left in crossland before now they were up to 24. Whether na El paso , houston , Atlanta or MIHS may God bless our hustle is all I can say. |
