Lols, no biting yet Jennimma:just a little pinch to let him/her know that i am not happy with what s/he did. Kids should know that waiting that long for them to finish breastfeeding before we could go back to our thing is not easy at all.Haba. 1 Like |

dont you need teeth to bite? at least post a photo of a baby with teeth? Or use another thread title? Unless this is in the realm of fiction? |

sucking is different from biting. you need teeth to bite. perhaps you're referring to squeezing. well, i stand to be corrected if wrong, but in any case, the baby in that picture cant bite yet unless it has teeth. ** posts are about breastfeeding plz** |
Re: Mums, what Would You Do? by Godmystrength: 5:37pm On Nov 25, 2014 |
tpia5:bite (bt) v. bit (bt), bit·ten (btn) or bit, bit·ing, bites v.tr. 1. To cut, grip, or tear with or as if with the teeth. 2. a. To pierce the skin of with the teeth, fangs, or mouthparts. v.intr. 1. To grip, cut into, or injure something with or as if with the teeth. i stand to be corrected if wrong but when a baby uses his upper and lower gums to hold tight to your nipple and applies lot of pressure while also trying to pull at it, what name will you give that? definitely not a squeeze IMO Most times, they do that when they are teething and need something to massage their gum.. That is why they have teethers for them to bite on when they need to....and i am sure they don't suck on them teethers.. They bite into them with their gum until their teeth start coming out and they continue biting 3 Likes 1 Share |

If you feel the baby is biting with its gums then chances are its not properly latched on and you need to reposition the baby or the breast. Teething aids are to relieve aching when teeth are coming out, biting is when the baby uses its teeth to bite. but do you think the baby in that picture can bite? |

Ma'am, that baby may not be able to talk but that doesnt mean you must misrepresent it. besides, are these things rocket science? |

tpia5:I agree with the bolded but it still won't make me change what i am saying that they bite with their gum sometimes even intentionally... The gum starts aching even before the teeth are out and they always want to bite on things even their fingers when they need to and if the aching happens to occur while they are feeding, nothing stops them from using your nipple to sooth the aching....... tpia5:and that why i asked this question Godmystrength: I tire for this English lessons jare. All i sha know is that babies bite(with or without teeth) and sometimes do it intentionally, hence the reason for some of them smiling after the deed.... |

Re: Mums, what Would You Do? by Godmystrength: 12:56pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
pickabeau1: @bolded, very true. they even bite for no reason when they just want to be naughty... those kind of bites are often accompanied with a smile or a knowing look on their face.... I refuse to be confused jare... |
Re: Mums,what Would You Do? by smartmom(f): 1:57pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
Babies as young as 5 months can have teeth and they still breastfeed and can bite Toothless ones can use your breast to ease the itch of teething gums. What to do? frown and gently remove your bosom to register your displeasure. They learn very earlier...they are quite smart |
