patches689: Yes SAAF is wrecked with ONLY 25 missiles shared by 26 Gripen jets, each jet is armed with 25/26 = 0.96 missiles each Each SAAF Grioen is armed with less than one missile each, world record disaster I have posted photos of NAF and PAF joint combat training again on this page, I hated doing it, it's been repeated on this forum till people complained about the repetition, we should stop asking people to repeat old stuff here, try to show us that you SA guys are not having fish level of memory |

patches689: mzilakazi: NAF air chief confirms : Our F-7NI fighter jets doing wonderfully in regular combat action till today. Our Beechcraft 350ER ISTAR power aircraft are in war zone action all the time needed. "Speaking further, the officer explained that but for the air attacks, “our troops would have suffered untold casualties, but that was prevented; instead, it was our troops that were killing those who resisted arrest, while most of them either fled or surrendered. There is the A-Jet and F-7 fighter aircraft for air cover and ground attacks. They also made use of the powerful M-24/35 attack helicopters for tactical and ground attacks. That was how we were able to rout them from their camps.” Speaking in the same vein, a very senior officer of the Nigerian Air Force attributed the victory recorded by the troops to the sophisticated Jet fighters that are being used in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations coupled with the patriotism, courage and the professionalism of the NAF officers. “We have a set of well-trained officers whose sense of patriotism and dedication to duty is never in doubt. Not only that, the Chief of Air Staff (Air Marshal Adesola Amosu) released all the needed fighter jets to us. “There are C-130H and G-222 for airlift of troops and logistics, DO-228 for medical evacuation and light transport. ATR 42 and Beach craft mounted with cameras for surveillance and reconnaissance. There is the A-Jet and F-7 fighter aircraft for air cover and ground attack. Finally, we have the dreaded M-24/35 attack helicopters for tactical and ground attack. All these are employed one time or the other as the need arises”. http://leadership.ng/news/386202/air-force-stopped-boko-haram-konduga NAF F-7 jet in photo below shows sign of regular heavy cannon fire against enemy targets, when last did SAAF fire anything against a real live enemy that has ZSU-23-4 deadly 7km max range anti-aircraft guns ? SAAF is a paper toy tiger ! NAF is the new k.iller 2014 ! Heroes of Konduga battle ! Ride on African masters with 1,148 combat sorties in just 2 months ! . .

agaugust: SAAF only bought a few as we are going to be using the A-darter which goes into production next year. So from next year we will have an unlimited supply of missiles. And 25 missiles is more than enough to shoot down every air-worthy jet in your airforce. And again, what training with Pakistan, when, where? Not just photos. And again, Pakistan have nothing to teach, their last major air operations was in the 1970's and only limited operations in the Kargil war |

Saab has successfully carried out an important stage in the A-Darter missile programme with the first test firing verifying the integration between the missile and the Gripen aircraft. The tests were held at the SAAF (South African Air Force) test area at Overberg, in South Africa. Gripen was chosen as the platform for these integration tests and has completed the them with outstanding result 1 Like

The new 96 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar power project in South Africa's Northern Cape province is now online and will help the country meet its critical electricity needs. The Jasper plant, near Kimberly, is the largest on the continent and can produce 180 000 megawatt-hours of energy a year for South African residents, enough to power up 80 000 homes. The project was completed two months ahead of schedule and is fully operational, SolarReserve, the developer, announced on 11 November. Jasper is located in a solar park near Kimberly that also includes the 75 MW Lesedi solar power project, which came online in May. Also on the cards is the even-bigger 100 MW Redstone concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) tower. SolarReserve, along with partner ACWA Power, is bidding for the planned Redstone CSP project, which will use of SolarReserve's CSP technology with integrated energy storage. As part of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), a percentage of total project revenues from the Jasper project will be set aside for Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development for the benefit of the local communities. 1 Like |
