JUO: if you live in a dusty area, this season is going to be bad for you if you don't clean your solar panels. 5he heat and the dust is going to play negatively on your system |

Dear friends, I need 8pcs of 205Ah 12V Trojan J185P-AC Batteries. But I can only raise like 50% of the total cost immediately. My Proposal... I will pay 50% of the cost immediately and will spread the remaining 50% over a period of not more than 4 months at 10% interest (negotiable). My Collateral... Post dated cheques for the remaining cost spread equally across the 4 months and my good name Interested dealers can contact me through the forum or bodejohn2005atyahoo.com |

My 12v 200ah Saturn batteries are dying after just one year. Eight of them that initially carry and supply energy for approximately 15hrs hardly last about 4hrs. How can the I revive them, if possible. How can I get a battery life saver? |

RipVanWink: I don't have a solution. but kindly tell us how u have been using d batteries. I mean ur charging and discharging pattern. so that others can learn from it. But from my little experience. ..I think 2 years is not too small for luminous batts. |

that guy no funny! after using battery for 2 years, yet you want it revived. I have solution for you but it will cost you 100k for the 2 batteries |

My 3.5kva sukham and 16 pcs of trojans T105-RE batts. All batteries supplied by Richmond. I started using d batteries around june this year. No regrets. The only problem is the inability to charge to absorption by the sukham. .but my solar has been helpful since richmond advised me to revert to 3×3 configuration. Presently, only 9 out of 10 panels are used. I harvest 4500wh average daily. Thanks to richmond for his constant guidance.

A DIYistTrying to imitate a pro. About 3 or 4 months ago, a senior colleague contracted to me to procure an inverter for him. He wanted something unique. I contacted richmond and he recomended and supplied a 4kw prag and 4 pcs of J185P-AC trojans. He also provided me with technical support from a to z during installation. The client was impressed by the performance of the system. Few weeks ago he requested for additional batteries for upgrade. He also saw the need for a good stabiliser as the prag trips off as from 245V. So we need something to bring it down to 220V. Kiekie was kind enough to offer some flexible payback plan on personal recognition and supplied 4 extra trojans and a 10kva prag servo.

c0ogumo: I have a battery bank of 96 volts (8 of 12v/200ah VRLA battery connected in series, 12v x 8 = 96v). BLS-84/86-Multi is recommended for my system. Do you have one? Judging from the state of my batteries, I am thinking along the line of battery replacement. Sealed or maintenance free, which is the best for performance and durability? |

bodejohn:Highest I've recorded in a day was 6.1kwh. My array is 2.1kw. These days, na 5kwh+... I wanna upgrade my array to 3kw, and battery bank to 400+ Ah! |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by abunafiu(m): 7:32pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
Barezzi: where us ur location. I use approx 1.1kw in kwara and I harvest 4.5kwh average daily. I strongly fell u should harvest not less than 10kwh daily. fikfik uses 2.1kw and harvest 11kwh. or is ur installation in any not optimal. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by richmon74(m): 7:33pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
bodejohn: congrats what is the size of your solar panels again? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by richmon74(m): 8:00pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
Barezzi: Oga that's not too good. Just as abunafiu has said you should be getting more than 10kwh. One of your problems is that your panels are too close to the roof. that makes the panels over heat especially in this period because there is no proper air circulation. The second issue is the quality of ur solar panels. You have a pro inverter and charge controller so you should enjoy. I have a 9 255w (2295w) solarworld panels site that yields over 13kwh. I have also posted a 3060w solarworld panels site that yielded 17.4kwh. People should stop wasting their money on the so called cheap panels which are not cheap at the end of the day after all. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bodejohn(m): 8:27pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
Oga Richmon74, you should not jump to conclusions that because we get a yield that is lower than your expections the panels are therefore cheap and substandard. Like I said in my previous post, my CC switches to float around midday and since I hardly dip my batteries below 70% DOD I do not expect any better result. In my own case I know my battery bank is undersized, the more reason I am willing to increase by switching to Trojan batteries. I was able to cross the 10kW mark because I switched on my fridge and freezer a little earlier on the said day and my wife had a filled day using the washing machine and the water pump. |
