Is it that these stup1d people have access to large data's containing people's number or they just text any number hoping somebody must fall mugu. I have received more than 4 different text from Politicians in ma state campaigning and I also wonder how they come across people's number. angry

MTN @ work.
I think the politicians would give them the text, then they would forward it to everyone from their database...same way they forward those useless messages of theirs.

This's how Nigerians should think. You're really smart, probably smarter than the scammer. With all the news of yahoo yahoo all over Nigeria I still find it hard to believe Nigerians do fall for a scam no matter how sophisticated.
It shall be well with you and your mom. Have a nice day.

The one that happened to me recently was my friends acct on facebook was hacked and d guy asked I should send 1500 or 3k recharge card.. I had started sourcing for 1500 card when it dawned on me that its fraud..

My question now is...
Are scammers now so broke that its 400-1500 crdt they are looking for

My mum received a call this morning while lying on her sick bed, it was someone who claimed to be an FRSC official. He claimed that there was someone involved in a ghastly motor accident whom she (my mum) knew and that she should call back...i was already all set for work so i decided to call the number. When i did, the "FRSC" man asked where i was and i told him i was in Abuja. He then said that there was a ghastly motor accident which occurred along the Lokoja/Abuja road and a woman whom we supposedly know was involved.

He said he got my mum's number from the woman's phone and that though she is alive, she is in a very critical condition. According to him, the 3 people sitting down beside her died on the spot and the woman needed urgent medical attention. He further inquired if i knew any Red Cross number and i said no. I told him to simply use the woman's number to call me so that i would be able to ascertain her identity by tallying it with the contacts on my mum's phone or mine so we could know if she was a close relative but he responded by saying that there was no credit in the woman's phone and that he tried the "Call Me Back" method which did not work. He finally broke the camel's back by saying i should send MTN Recharge Card of about N400 to him so he could load the phone and call me back with it. I told him that i would send him just N100 but he insisted it must be N400 or at least N200. That was when it dawned on me. I was so upset cos my mum is a High BP and Diabetic patient which culminated to a stroke months back and was still recovering in my house only for them to spring this up on her. I managed to calm both her and my younger sister down by telling them it was a prank call from a scammer and related my reasons to them.

If you are reading this and got a similar call, please share your experience and for those who have not, be wary...IT IS A CHEAP SCAM!

This's how Nigerian's should think. You're really smart, possibly smarter than the scammer. With all the news of yahoo yahoo all over the place in Nigeria, I still find it hard to believe Nigerians do fall for a scam no matter how sophisticated.
It shall be well with you and your mom. Have a nice day.

mine is kinda similar though.
I got a message from a 4digit customised number.
And the message reads "congratulations 8182****55. You've won the sum of #650,000. They sent me a 4digit pin, and their phone number...

I called the number and I was asked to hang on, their manager is busy on the other call.

5minutes later, the manager received my call and ask me to deposit 50k, which will serve as clearance fee..

That was when I used my France brain.
I told the man that I've got only 10k.
Surprisingly he asked me to send it like that. No problem.

Chai! Naija man wan open office for french man head....

Na that time I begin call the eediot different names..
U again ds nite?

The commonest of thr trick is telling someone dt thr family abroad wants to send dem something nd dey needed to clear it with certain amount. I now asked d mumu, which of my family, he couldn't talk. 'Av u 4goten me?' He answered. Den I laffed nd told him better luck elsewhere cos av got no family abroad o.

Hehehehehe (in phyno's voice, 15 seconds into his song #Alobam) They'll surely get what's coming to them. Idieets!!!

Someone dubious called one of my cells today while I was in the studio. I frooze my DAW and answered the call in the deepest, darkest, creepiest military voice one could imagine...I still don't know why I spoke like that...the caller quickly apologised that he meant to call my wife...when did young me get married? LMAO...the scammer must've been scared to death.

Mine happened some three years ago.A guy called me up to say he was 'agbomola' I think it means an herbalist or something.

He said someone brought my name to them that I offended her and that he checked me out and knew I was a good.

To cut the long story short,he asked where I was and I told him Ogbomoso of which I was in Lagos,he then said I should send him 5k,i told him it was past banking hours, he then said I should send him recharge card.I was so frightened that I told my late dad 'baba rere'.He called the guy and gave him the warning of his life

Even at this moment I am yet to reconcile the mystery. It happened thus:

Some few night ago I received a call from some female claiming she is crazy about me, that I have affected her life in such ways that she is glad I am in her life. I was surprised and I asked her for her name, then she said I should call her back, then she will disclose her name to me. I did not return her call, few minutes later she called me asking me to gues who she was, so I mentioned a couple of names of my female friends which she said was not correct.

She ended the call, sent an sms and a mms which was a picture of her supposed self, I could not remember ever seeing her before.

Three days gone bye and i called the same mobile which had been switched-off till this present moment, also not registered on whatsapp.
