Whether or not the President was heckled or pelted with sachet water; he doesn't deserve it. He is the President for God's sake.

But I've always raised issues with the President's handlers. Who chose a university campus in the heart of opposition environment for a leader who's not popular to visit. Security has gone beyond harassing people with guns. These days the culture, antecedent and disposition of people are considered in details; including unresolved issues. The crowd who came to 'receive' him were not profiled. We thank God that he wasn't hurt, otherwise the university would be shut and some opposition politicians would be arrested and we would be on Nairaland debating the appropriateness of the action.

Today, i did my part, i made my stand. Happy joining OAU students to show President Jonathan his government and poverty-inducing capitalist policies are not welcomed. He expected a rousing welcome, instead he was confornted with a protest. Fayose got perhaps the biggest embarrassment of his life today. They looked dejected, their banners hanging around them. How could they start dancing as they planned with the hundreds of students chanting solidarity songs just beside them? At the end, as the helicopters lifted from the ground, i didn't see a single person waving the President goodbye. It was like good riddance. If my guess is right, someone might soon be fired for fixing OAU on the President's itinery Despite attempts by a wing of the union leadership to sell-out, great Ife students have demonstrated how oppressors and exploiters should be treated. I would do it again anytime, any day. Doing this isn't because we support the APC.
