I have been wondering recently if Bola Tinubu is setting up General Buhari in the ACP presidential primaries. Bear with me as I lay out the cause of my suspicion.
Right form the start of the moves to from the alliance between the opposition parties, it was always the open secret that the plan was to field General Buhari as the presidential candidate and Bola Tinubu would either be the vice presidential candidate or he would nominate the candidate.
With that being the case I’ve been asking myself this question. ‘If Tinubu really wants Buhari as the presidential candidate, why would he allow a formidable candidate like Atiku to join the ACP?’ Tinubu must have known that Atiku was joining the ACP with the sole aim of contesting for the Presidency, so why allow him a free hand. Tinubu could easily have pushed for a rules that would have prevented Atiku going for the presidential ticket. For example they could have implemented a rule that no ACP presidential candidate should have been a previous PDP presidential candidate or any presidential candidate must have been with the ACP for the start. The main point I am making here is that if Tinubu REALLY wanted to prevent Atiku from going for the Presidential ticket he could have done it. So the question is why did’nt he? Could Tinbu and Atiku be playing a complex game with Buhari? In this game Tinubu ‘supports’ Buhari in the primaries, knowing deep down that Atiku, will actually win the primaries with his deep pockets and experience of the kind of ‘back room deals’ needed to win a primary. Once Atiku wins, him and Tinubu then go to Buhari and say ‘Ah General it was a fair contest but now Atiku is the candidate we need you to support him and ask your supporters to vote him.’ Tinubu knows that Buhari brings 12 Million votes to the table, could it be that he wants those votes, but does not want the General? Time will tell.

Anyone that thinks he can control the Genera needs to have his head examined. I'm sure Tinubu entertains no such dreams because he knows who Buhari is. Buhari has been on the National Scene when Tinubu was still in primary school.

......Idiagbon controlling Buhari is another fiction of people's imagination. The fact was Buhari and Idigabon were of like minds and there was perfect synergy between them.

Idiagbon was more heard of because he had the unflinchingly support and trust of his boss.

Saying Buhari was under the control of Idiagbon really is very silly.

And then now, the same question is asked in reverse several years later; does Buhari really want Tinubu as president?
