A lot is still unknown about the incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Iqleel Amosun (FCA). Giving the governor's obsessiveness to lies, everything around him has been shrouded in utmost secrecy, including his real age, Professional qualification and most recently is his purported academic qualification of MA International Finance from the University of Westminster.

Shortly before he became governor, Sahara Reporters carried an exclusive report on Ibikunle Amosun alongside a non governmental organization, CEJUDE, see link to news article;

The investigation was conducted solely based on website information of the University which clearly shows that Governor Amosun's supposed course and qualification is not offered nor awarded at the university. CEJUDE presented it's case at the time to the ministry of education, the National Security Adviser and to the Presidency. However all these fell on deaf ears.

Ilese News Extra took this upon itself to investigate the matter even further when it was approached by an alumni of the University of Westminster, Mr Anthony Raul Fernandez, who himself had made several Freedom of Information applications to the University of Westminster directly for confirmation of Mr Amosun's award, a Masters of Arts in International Finance (see copy of certificate attached with graduation year circle with an arrow). Fernandez who finished in June 2000 argued that the Governor was not a member of his class, in fact he argued that there was no Nigerian in the Class of 2000 when Amosun claimed he graduated from the course.

Fernandez in his FOI applications made through the foremost UK website for Freedom of Information request ( www.whatdotheyk now.com) asked the university to clarify grey areas concerning the purported award the governor had written on his INEC registration forms in 2011 shortly before the election that brought him into power (see INEC forms attached with arrow pointing to the claim of award of MA International Finance).

In their reply to Fernandez, the University asked for more clarifications as it could not directly comment about a Third Party without their consent or on instruction from information Commissioners office. Fernandez told Ilese News Extra that he then resent his application asking the University to state if any African graduated in the year claimed by Governor Amosun, he went further to ask the University to say if any Nigerian male or female was on the list of graduates that year to which the University replied an emphatic NO. In it's response, the University stated that Zero (0) number of Nigerians finished in June 2000 and Zero (0) number were Male. So what nationality did Ibikunle Amosun claim if indeed he graduated from this university in June 2000?

Ilese News Extra is unable to publish this FOI messages between Fernandez and the University due to the strict laws prohibiting such. However, we have explained below how our readers can lay their hands on original copies of the messages between the two (See bottom of article for step by step guide on how to obtain a copy).

The truth is that Govenor Amosun did not attend the university. He has lived with this lie all through his life, even completing same on his INEC registration governorship application forms.
Ilese News Extra was also hinted of a parley of some journalists in 2011 where it was asked that news about Amosun's purported MA International Finance certificate be stood down in the Press in exchange for financial rewards.

Ilese News Extra were also handed a report from the Metropolitan Police (reference paragraph underlined and attached) which agreed that though an offence was committed, it could not prosecute the case any further because the Governor had not committed the offence in the United Kingdom but in Nigeria. Ilese News Extra is now in the process of employing several UK solicitors and barristers in challenging this decision since the forged document was that of a United Kingdom university.
Ilese News Extra is also working with several NGOs and security agencies with the documents in it's possession to ensure the governor is brought to justice once his immunity is lifted upon the expiration of tenure as governor.

Fernandez told Ilese News Extra over the phone that he had sent an email to the governor asking him to provide reasons why he forged a certificate to gain advantage in an election and paint a picture of what he was not, a certificate Fernandez himself said he struggled so hard to obtain. He asked Amosun in the email what his next line of action was in relation to this findings urging him to come clean to him secretly so that he would not need to use the information openly in the press, an olive branch the governor refused to accept. Fernandez went on to tell Ilese News Extra that governor Amosun refused to reply the email.

When asked why he chose such a time to release these damning evidence about the governor and if it was not for the political gains of the governor’s opponents, Fernandez was quoted as saying "I do not want the people of that South West Nigerian state to vote a certificate forger to power again, one is enough but twice will break my heart" he told Ilese News Extra.

With the damning report by the Metropolitan Police that the offence was committed within Nigeria (obviously because the certificate was not presented for use within the shores of the United Kingdom but to INEC in Nigeria), it becomes a travesty if Governor Amosun is not tried in Nigeria and jailed for forgery upon expiration of his tenure as governor. It is because of this that Ilese News Extra has taken the fight for justice to the relevant bodies in and outside of Nigeria.
There will be a Part II of this report which is even more damning but because of popular demand, we had to release this information but holding back more vital information in other not to jeopardise ongoing investigations.
