Glocal1: I think it's too late for fall 2015. Most schools have deadlines in december/January. Could be wrong though. But before you write gre, get your recs, transcripts, wes report the deadline could be over. Depends on the school though. Don't know much about the mail thing. Others could be of help. |

ebdib:Truly, its almost late, but I still plan to write d GRE, as I'm studying n extensively searching for schools with funding, the search has been taking much time. I hope if I write d exam n send d scores to d schools, will d scores be considered for subsequent admission term/session. It has not been easy preparing for d GRE n TOEFL as I'm working. Does it imply I should be preparing for 2016 fall or somewhere in-between. Pls advise |

Glocal1: What's your field? Are you hoping on funding strictly? Or your sponsors are willing to pay? Important questions |

ebdib:Pharmacy, I only hope to get funding, no sponsor, I'll only sponsor myself. |

Hey guys , we make one mistake by not posting the cost of tution for the university we want to attend, u dont rely on interview scripts alone when trying to help others, we should also help post cost of tuition, school location, etc.but ur names u may not expose onhere and other personal details for safety/security reasons. u ll ask why? Tell if two people aply to different universities on different locations, lets say mr A applied to the university of Texas and got admission and was granted visa at the embassy seeing the tuition is about $40,000 and texas happens to be a dangerous place for people/ visitors. natural disaster where visitors/people avoid. but mR A was granted visa Now mr B applies to the University of Newyork where u have good weather , no or less natural disasters likely to occur in that area but with less tuition of about $7,000 , now the embassy here refuses to grant mr B visa A and B did not apply to red flag schools and both have good documentation i may not have used a good exaple here but i m saying to you guys to provide more evidence here so that we can make good /right judgement based on evidence provided so as to help others planing on going there to study. its unfair to spend much moneyand some long process and at the end of the day they deny people visa 2 Likes |

kwenu: Exactly the same reason why you should do research yourself and not be spoon fed. You don't apply to mr a university because some group of people are doing so. Everybody is different and we all have our different career goals n research interests. 4 Likes |

I realize many people don't know what graduate education is all about. @kwenu Well let me elaborate If you're going to graduate school just to escape Nigeria (valid) then you can choose any school even if it's not what you want to study. But to waste your parents precious money to choose a school that's not worth it just because someone on nairaland went to the school. seriously Do you know what's called research fit?? That means the research carried out in that school interests you and this is VERY INVIDUALISTIC. Mr A might be interested in spatial and virtual models or relativity and Mr B might be interested in acoustics and harmonics. So because mr A said he's studying physics at Harvard you too want to apply to study physics at Harvard because he typed his transcript on nairaland? Is the research the same? Are your backgrounds the same? Do you have similar research experiences? Did you guys email the same professors? Do your own research based on your own PREFERENCES, RESEARCH INTERESTS, FUNDING AVAILABILITY, FAMILY MEMBERS PTOXIMITY etc , the internet is wild and free. On a final note, the information provided on this website is more than sufficient to get you a visa. You don't need any body's suggestion for schools location, school name etc. I'm not saying people can't suggest but suggesting schools just makes people seem unserious. Or maybe they're just trying to get the hell out naija so anything goes. Which is understandable though. Okbye 5 Likes |

Hello everyone, I am currently on f2 visa in US and got admission for spring so I need to change to f1 to be able to enrol for classes. I applied online for the change of visa status but the wait time till approval is like 2.5 month which will put me at the middle of february and classes starts January 12. I am thinking, should I travel back to naija to change my visa status to f1? what are my chances of approval if I come to naija for the visa interview since I already applied via the online elis uscis? should I just wait in the state for the visa approval since some people get their f1 approval even before its 2.5 month? PLS I NEED YOUR ADVICE |

edbid, thank you. I was waiting for someone to reply him. he is obviously one of those asking people to give them names of school and can not take time to search. one man food is another man poison, people choose their school of choice according to their pocket, location and all other factor. There are thousands of schools in USA and you have the right to chose. if he needs to know the price and location, he should use google |
