I like the last part.
They make the "church" as it were to be about razzmatazz and pizzazz without puting the focus on Jesus.
Someone on this thread is adversely canvassing for us to copy Abraham's example, rather than that of Jesus who is supposed to be the author and finisher of our faith only in the area of paying tithe. You point out why Abraham cannot be who you model your Christian fsith about and he starts telling you that no man is perfect. So why copy an imperfect example who no longer lives when we have a perfect living master who is above reproach?
Unfortunately these are the shallow minds that these men of themselves breed in abundance so as to continue with their scams. people who cannot be bothered to search through the scriptures and put things together to decipher what God says in his word. So many lazy souls who do not desire to knowvthe depth of God's word but rather depend on what these pastors say.
I could fill you with stories about RCCG and how they do their things. But let God be the judge.

Please you should write this stories because also such stories can open they eyes of the brainwashed followers of this Church.

It is our right that we show people what goes wrong in this churches.

Jesus said the pharisees were doing the right thing by tithing!
Matth 23v23
"woe unto you ,scribes and pharisees, hypcrites! For you pay tithe of cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgement, mercy, and faith : these ought ye to have done and not to leave the other undone"
"these ought ye to have done". done what? Pay tithe.

very correct. Jesus was actually referring to their keeping the law of thithe as it was then while He was on earth. This is so easily understood if you can get it. Why is it so difficult to see that Jesus came to take away the old so as to establish the new. You do not take new wine into an old bottle. Let those that would understand understand.

thank God a reasonable person is here, I'm not saying what the Church has done is right, I don't really know what happend, but we all should be mindful of what you say about Pastors. You didn't ordain them, God did. The bible say we should believe them, Christians beware o.
no i wouldnt believe all of them, remember the warnings. cool

abraham gave tithe to melchizedeck, was abraham operating under d law?
There is only one tithe and only one mentioned in d bible ( i stand to b corrected).
No kingdom can survive without resources, thts y all nations on earth impose tax on their citizens.
God's kingdom on earth imposes the tax on its citizens so tht God's work on earth can b accomplished.
Without enuff resources God's work suffers.
The reason for tithe in malaci is so that they mayb "meat in My (God's) House". In other words ,resources for kingdom work.
Besides, like I said, the tithe is God's. Not payng it makes you a robber and a thief.
Lastly, if in d old (inferior) testament, people gave ten percent, how much shud you gladly giv in the new covenant? More thn ten percent.

If you dont giv your tithe with gratitude and thankfully, God will still get His work done. He doesnt need you. And no man can hinder His work from getttng done.
He after all, gave you the money, strenght and breathe to get d money in the first place.

Abraham gave 10% from the "spoils of war" and returned 90% of the "spoils of war" to the King of Sodom..

Spoils of war wasn't Abraham's possession..

It was a never-again-to-be-duplicated event in the bible...

How does that event mean every today's christian must give his money, year after year, month after month and week after week..

If you can show me a similarity between Abraham's tithing to melchizedeck and christian tithing to men of God (not levities) .... I will show you the similarity between an Elephant and a Housefly. cheesy

@ bolded the spoils of war is owned by whoever wins the war. The only reason Abraham did not accept the spoils of war as his was stated there if you are well conversant with that scripture. The reason was "so the Kings or 'man' would not say they made Abraham rich. Cheers!

If you were conversant with that scripture as well, you'd realize that Abraham never tithed from his possession..

You failed to answer how a single event, suddenly became the weekly tithe that Christians are required to pay..

Also, if Jesus.. the son of God wasn't authorize to collect the tithes like Melchizedeck, Heb 7.. I see no reason why the Church will go against a clear command of whom God authorize ALONE to collect his tithes... - The Levite..

If you must tithe, it must be on the hands of a Levite and not a tele-evangelist.. Numbers 18...

Am not here for arguments on tithes or no tithes! Tithe It's a personal action or commitment between a believer in Christ and his God. Arguing over it won't change the fact that it's practiced freely world wide and it works for those who engage in it.
What I addresses was the bolded in your earlier post about the spoils, if my response was inaccurate do highlight what part you don't agree on and we could take it from there. wink

If you are not here for arguments on tithes , then what are you here for?

I hate it when people try to do something and claim not to be interested in doing what they crave...

Learn to take correction dude! Take a chill pill... I kinda get from your stance your anti tithe and what not! How does people paying their tithes affect you as an individual? Stop drinking panadol for someone else's headache. Gosh!
You said the spoils from the war wasn't Abraham's! I said that's not accurate because in war, the winner takes it all! I went further to explain to you the reason he didn't take the spoils as opposed to the normal practice of taking it, as "so that man would not say he made Abraham rich" which was clearly stated in that same chapter.
So what's the ranting and bickering all about?? Show or quote me where what I said in regards to the spoils is wrong or go back to your unprofitable argument. Peace cool
