govt....always promising, never delivering. I wish the minister would devote time to show us what benefits we derived from the existing space satellite venture we're into, instead of making meaningless promises. Alternatively, provide some details on the sophistication of the satellite to be designed and launched. High school kids in the US have been making mini satellites for a while, so this isn't nearly as ground-breaking as many of you think. |

And just to be clear before some Neanderthal attacks me, I'd rather such monies be used to beef up our universities. How many Universities in Nigeria offer courses in advanced astrophysics and rocket science? The whole nation must move forward technologically, not the one you'll pack some phD holders to the UK or China to work on a satellite design team and then start beating your chest. When final year students of OAU are able to make stuff like this and showcase it, then we've arrived. 3 Likes |

Any government that will spend so much to launch a satellite when more than 60% of its populace lives below the poverty line is foolish, and that is putting it politely. Yeye dey smell... 1 Like |

This news is so amusing. We purchased satellite from Chinese and the satellite disappeared on the orbit. The satellite was replaced (NigComsat1R) which is not functional and now our government is telling us that they are going to lunch a satellite in the orbit whereby they cannot manage the one we purchased from abroad... haba this is so amusing. 1 Like |

Common molue, dem never build, na spaceship dem go build. make una send experts go NASA and Russia if una serious about this one or else I take it as anoda Jonathan electioneering campaign tale. Even d ones e promise before dem re-elect am, e neva fulfil. These people lack focus jare ! |
