They can say whatever they like. After all, the U.S military assistance was all media and no substance. Just like everything with the Americans.

We would defeat this insurgency, that is a fact, we only need to tailor the media to report the news primarily from our point of view, propaganda or not, it is imperative that we do so.

Yeah, training a whole battalion to be ranges, sending advisors and intel not to mention a brigade or so's worth of vehicals is totally something to scoff at

Even the abrams; av read true events of high kenetic RPG partially knocking out or disabling the abrams !
www.janes.com/article/39550/iraqi-abrams-losses-revealed

Those are not top of the line Abrams

those are old ones without the DU layer and armor upgrades modern ones have

No modern Abrams has ever been penetrated by an RPG or ATGM

Chief, The BTR-3U Nigeria has now, are not able to engage Boko Haram 23mm cannon Toyotas, they will tear our BTR-3U into pieces.

BMP-2 IFV has 3km max range 30mm cannon, Nigeria will now have firepower equal to Boko Haram's 23mm and 14.5mm guns.

Balance of power will change if Nigerian army buys 200 units of cheap BMP-2 IFVs cheap second hand from Russia that has thousands in storage reserves. Price for upgraded/modernized second hand should be around $1.5 million per unit.

BTR-3U has tyres/wheels and will get stuck like Cobra in the muddy areas close to Sambisa forest, BMP-2 will use tracks to navigate the heavy muddy terrain.

Worse for Boko Haram is if Nigerian BMP-2 all come upgraded with night vision equipment and anti-tank missiles, they will change the balance of power in this war, even if NAF is not working. T-84 Oplot-M or T-90SM main battle tanks will be the expensive high tech weapons to wipe out Boko Haram from Nigeria

.

Tracks mean a loss of mobility

BMP-2 will not be as mobile or have the range as boko in their wheeled vehicals

Wheels are better than tracks in COIN

Training for 3weeks the Nigerian government paid $550k for, you think it's free?

What intel? .......The same intel they've been hoarding, and have not shared, of what use is that?

"So 8 military trucks and a couple technicals now count for brigade worth vehicles?".

Don't be delusional guy.

The Augusta LUH has to be the world's most useless helicopter. To think this helicopter sold many units is all the more shocking.

Generally, LUH's have lost their relevance in the military. They are an utter waste of resources.

Nope.

The LUH is simply costly to operate, but a small, fast helo is essential for CASAVAC, CSAR, SAR, Trooping, EW, Recon, CnC etc

The fact that it has sold many units is proof of this.

Gazelle is better though

LUH have lost there relevance in the military, not like they were ever relevant for the military.

The gazelle is better because it is a light attack helicopter, more like an armed flying LAV, not an LUH.

Nice to know...30mm supressive fire and ATGM capability in one package with a beautiful ribbon(capacity to carry 7fully armed troops) on the box!..But surplus stocks mean trouble; basic level armour and no upgrades..just shipped from warehouses...If its Ukranian, its crap..If its Russisan, it been upgraded at least once...The question now is, how well will it be utilized? The most significant advantage over BH technicals is Night fighting capability..Night attcks with BMP-2s leading will rout entire BH convoys from 3km away..As for our BTR-3us, one word, clumsy.

Experience in Afghanistan showed that the BMP design is not suited to COIN or convoy work

You are funny dude ,then if u r in ur so-called ratel or badger where u r being hit u hust stay in right there and so it wouldn't hit fuel or ammo do u think ur fucken enemy don't know ur week point on ur ratel, when RPG knocks out abram u r talking of Ratel, who d hell knows ratel !
And secondly don't u try and face any fucken AFV/IFV with a rifle grenade luncher. Its only a mad man would try and do that ! I would rather prefer an anti-material/particle beam riffle from a well and camouflaged distance !
And last but not the least never compare a ratel with a (2000) BMP-2, its only an armature would do dat !

RPG-27 is the only RPG variant to penetrate a modern battle tank, and it did so by hitting the underside (least armoured part) of a Chally 2 that was going over a mound, and even then, the driver only lost a toe and drove home.

Polish Rosomak IFV took multiple RPG hits in Afghanistan and drove home.

RPG-7 was designed 50 years ago, and is wholly outdated now for anything other than infantry support

I'll rather stick to my bmp-2 with an armor plate ;33mm(1.3in) with a little compactment than a ratel badger with armor plate;20mm(0.79) .
When an RPG-7 hits u ; d second hit is going to roast you, because its an anti-tank self propelled rocket, they never said anti-infantry fighting vechicle, so bro in d realty u jump out for cover with ur rifflej bmp-2 or ur badger ratel can't withstand more than 1 hit !
But I'll rather go for a bmp-2 than a ratel !.... Its not about d size its the protection and firepower bro, even the U.S.A army now produces its own rpg(Airtronic) variant cos they understand its dangerous, effective proven, easy to maintain, cheap and light to carry for foot soldier to carry about.I rest my case !

see my post above about penetration.

Americans re-introduced the Carl Gustav for infantry support purposes, not AT

the gazelle is described as a light, scout attack helicopter. It seats 5 people.

It is a LUH.

But can be fitted to carry out roles such as AT, reccon and surveillance.

Its true

MBT's are of limited use in COIN

They can provide over-watch and direct fire in the infantry support role, and they have defensive applications

But look at the war in Syria or Chechnya, a tank in a COIN warzone (especially ones that tend to explode like the '72) are not very usefull.

Furthermore, the T-72 in such a war doesnt offer much more than a T-55/52 or Vickers

Basically, you have introduced a low mobility asset into a high mobility war.

More BTR-3's would be the ideal asset

even MBT with strong body armour are also not left out,it all depends on or tactics and the ground infantry support .like d picture u posted u can see d infantrymen r given a 360 eye support from surrounding enemy with antitank and RPG weapons. an RPG will send a btr on flames tough d men inside may b lucky

Guys, this is a photos only thread.

A question or two is fine, but continually giving long comments (epistle's) defeats the purpose of this thread. How are we supposed to enjoy the photos?

Read that article you'll spot many contradictions.

KDF promotion exam -Before any promotion, soldiers undergo a physical test, theoretical test. oral test - field test where souldiers are hypothetically given command of of soldiers and are made to explain how they would occupy and control an area if he was in charge of launcing an attach and stuff like that. Some become become generals others captains , colonels... .
