Fact: Aisha Jummai is the second woman to ever win a gubernatorial primary in Nigeria.
Congrats to her once again.

Taraba is traditionally a PDP state.Like Plateau state, who becomes the governor is determined by religion in which case Taraba people will always vote for a christian, whether he is a slowpoke is non of their business.

Secondly,Danjuma will play a major role in who becomes Taraba governor.

For your information Etiaba, former governor of Anambra state is Nigeria's first female governor. If you are in doubt, ask google.
she is not because the court nullified the impeachment that brought her in.It is calling ngige ex gov

Really? Can you shed some light please

Dame Virgy Etiaba was Peter Obi's deputy. She became governor when Obi was impeached and stepped aside when the court overturned the impeachment.

A lady won the Adamawa primaries?

I hope there will be, at least, a historic first elected female governor in Nigeria. Sen Anyanwu's chances in Imo are getting slimmer.
Taraba, not adamawa

Well we know what happened but don't talk about it.
Aisha Jummai won because she was in PDP then while Nyame was with the ACN following his falling out with Danbaba Suntai. Suntai helped and even won the election for his party woman. This time around her seat at the Senate will be taken over by Nyame and the governorship won by Darius Dickson Ishaku of the PDP. Nothing for Aisha.
We shall see.

Dame Virgy Etiaba isn't the 1st female Governor of Nigeria.
The court ruled that Gov. Peter Obi wasn't validly impeached and as such had remained Governor while he sought succour in the court. Obi promptly returned to Government house to resume his duties, while all actions taken by Virgy Etiaba became null and void since she was infact just a deputy Governor occupying the Governor's office.

As such, the title of 1st female Governor (either by election or elevation) is still up for grabs.

If Google says otherwise, then google is lying.
If the judgement did not specifically declare that her tenure was null and void, then you have a point. But if there was no such declaration, then she should still be referred to as the first female governor.
Remember that Ngige is still referred to as a former governor, despite a tribunal ruling that he wasn't the actual winner of the election.

Interesting results, patiently waiting for taraba.

Female Senator emerges APC governorship
Senator Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan has emerged the Taraba APC governorship candidate in Taraba State. She is a (current) Senator in the 7th National Assembly representing Taraba North (Senatorial District). She won the APC primaries with a landslide victory of 2425 votes with other candidates Ibrahim Tumba, Dr Julde S & Yusuf polling 18, 5, and 14 votes respectively.

They didn't use delegates o, umana came with thugs firing gunshot, everyone ran out of the stadium. Umana insisted that supporters should line up in front of their candidate, thats how he won.

I mean the delegates who voted today were elected in April........i am not talking of today's election or otherwise that happened in Akwa Ibom

The statutory delegates who voted today were elected as far back as April hence whosoever that had not join the party by then is only deceiving himself unless those who controls the delegates accepts to work for the new decampee like it happened in Sokoto for Tambuwal

I knew there was no way Umana Okon Umana can ever clinch the APC ticket unless Udoedeghe or Sam Ewang have an understanding not to contest with him

He joined APC way too late when delegates elections were held in April......people like Udoedeghe would have simply put their loyalists in all the available post state-wide
I don't like that Umana of a guy, he's no different from Godswill Akpabio

there is outside chance that a muslim (former acting governor) might win PDP primaries. but am not sure how powerful Danjuma is in the state
The powerful forces in Taraba are in PDP.Who becomes the flagbearer would be dtermined by these guys.Remember that the former acting governor Umar Garba who was recently sacked by the court wanted to contest the primaries against the wish of General TY Danjuma and others, hence, his removal.

With a landmass almost twice those of south east,Taraba is poor . Their IGR is next to nothing.90% of Taraba indigenes are farmers.Their literacy level is very low ,therefore, anybody with a big war chest can get their vote.

The difference is that Ngige actually has a tenure of about 3yrs that can't be wished away, despite being declared as the loser in the election erroneously awarded to him.
As such, Obi started on a clean slate with his own 4yr tenure.

Concerning Dame Virgy Etiaba, the court ruled that Obi was NEVER impeached. As such the time spent chasing a court declaration to that effect was considered as part of his 4yr tenure.
This means Dame Etiaba cannot even lay claim to a tenure, not even 1day tenure. She only occupied the Governor's office as a deputy Governor and all actions she took while occupying that office while a Governor actually existed, became nothing.

Ngige is referred to as Fmr Gov by the media but not in the eyes of the law. Virgy Etiaba aka Mother Christmas was kicked out of that seat by the SC, you can't call her "fmr gov", neither will you call Ngige and Uba such. The SC nullified the impeachment of Obi. Peter Obi was Gov 2006-2014. Btw there can be no two Govs at the same time.

Yeah she is very loyal to Atiku, there shouldn't be any problems, so long as Atiku remains in the apc after buhari wins the primaries.
atiku is a strong man in nigeria politics ,he knows the game in and out and he knows that apc will never win the presidency but maybe in 2200AD. He knows that he can only become the president of Nigeria if he is in pdp. Don't be surprised that atiku may be using apc platform to prepare for 2019 when he will most likely be among the 3 strongest northern politicians in nigeria . He will move back to pdp before 2019 and most likely clinch the party ticket.

Congratulations to APC for conducting a peaceful and violent free primaries across the country. This primaries have put a lie to PDP's propaganda that APC lacks internal democracy.

Special congratulations to Akinwunmi Ambode and indeed all Lagosians. It feels so good to know that a renowned professional Accountant will be piloting the affairs of the state for the next 4 years.

Indeed. He was endorsed by Tinubu to at least clean up the mess him and his boy has done on Lagos financial accounts.

The other three candidates MT Rumba, Dr Suleiman Julde and Barr Yusuf Akirikwen where never really serious contenders for the party ticket. Tumba although a well known figure and serial contestant and serial loser only entered the race few weeks back when his posters appeared. Barr Akiikwen's posters made an appearance for one week and disappeared even the wife confessed to a friend that much, while Dr Julde didn't have the money to challenge the large purse of Senator Aisha.
However, DDI will beat her come Feb 2015.

Truly Ngige is referred to as Fmr Gov by the media.
However, the tenure cannot be wished away. As for Etiaba, no tenure to lay claim to.

As u rightly said, Gov Obi's 2 tenures lasted from 2006 - 2014.

Etiaba's is no where to be found.
