Obiagelli: Dame Virgy Etiaba was Peter Obi's deputy. She became governor when Obi was impeached and stepped aside when the court overturned the impeachment. |

Re: APC Governorship Primaries: States & Lists Of Winners by Nobody: 9:47pm On Dec 04, 2014 |
StOla:If the judgement did not specifically declare that her tenure was null and void, then you have a point. But if there was no such declaration, then she should still be referred to as the first female governor. Remember that Ngige is still referred to as a former governor, despite a tribunal ruling that he wasn't the actual winner of the election. |

Obiagelli: Female Senator emerges APC governorship Senator Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan has emerged the Taraba APC governorship candidate in Taraba State. She is a (current) Senator in the 7th National Assembly representing Taraba North (Senatorial District). She won the APC primaries with a landslide victory of 2425 votes with other candidates Ibrahim Tumba, Dr Julde S & Yusuf polling 18, 5, and 14 votes respectively. |

Obiagelli: I mean the delegates who voted today were elected in April........i am not talking of today's election or otherwise that happened in Akwa Ibom The statutory delegates who voted today were elected as far back as April hence whosoever that had not join the party by then is only deceiving himself unless those who controls the delegates accepts to work for the new decampee like it happened in Sokoto for Tambuwal |

CFCfan: Are you sure? Is your HISTORY of gubernatorial primaries in our country so COMPLETE for you to make such an assertion Perhaps Obiagelli who shared your post knows all our gubernatorial primaries history as well as to agree with you. At times like this is when you appreciate naptu2's masterful contributions here. 2 Likes 1 Share |

abbakacici:The powerful forces in Taraba are in PDP.Who becomes the flagbearer would be dtermined by these guys.Remember that the former acting governor Umar Garba who was recently sacked by the court wanted to contest the primaries against the wish of General TY Danjuma and others, hence, his removal. With a landmass almost twice those of south east,Taraba is poor . Their IGR is next to nothing.90% of Taraba indigenes are farmers.Their literacy level is very low ,therefore, anybody with a big war chest can get their vote. |
Re: APC Governorship Primaries: States & Lists Of Winners by StOla: 10:00pm On Dec 04, 2014 |
CFCfan: The difference is that Ngige actually has a tenure of about 3yrs that can't be wished away, despite being declared as the loser in the election erroneously awarded to him. As such, Obi started on a clean slate with his own 4yr tenure. Concerning Dame Virgy Etiaba, the court ruled that Obi was NEVER impeached. As such the time spent chasing a court declaration to that effect was considered as part of his 4yr tenure. This means Dame Etiaba cannot even lay claim to a tenure, not even 1day tenure. She only occupied the Governor's office as a deputy Governor and all actions she took while occupying that office while a Governor actually existed, became nothing. 2 Likes |

CFCfan:Ngige is referred to as Fmr Gov by the media but not in the eyes of the law. Virgy Etiaba aka Mother Christmas was kicked out of that seat by the SC, you can't call her "fmr gov", neither will you call Ngige and Uba such. The SC nullified the impeachment of Obi. Peter Obi was Gov 2006-2014. Btw there can be no two Govs at the same time. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Obiagelli:atiku is a strong man in nigeria politics ,he knows the game in and out and he knows that apc will never win the presidency but maybe in 2200AD. He knows that he can only become the president of Nigeria if he is in pdp. Don't be surprised that atiku may be using apc platform to prepare for 2019 when he will most likely be among the 3 strongest northern politicians in nigeria . He will move back to pdp before 2019 and most likely clinch the party ticket. 1 Like |

Re: APC Governorship Primaries: States & Lists Of Winners by Nobody: 10:08pm On Dec 04, 2014 |
BashirAhmad1:The other three candidates MT Rumba, Dr Suleiman Julde and Barr Yusuf Akirikwen where never really serious contenders for the party ticket. Tumba although a well known figure and serial contestant and serial loser only entered the race few weeks back when his posters appeared. Barr Akiikwen's posters made an appearance for one week and disappeared even the wife confessed to a friend that much, while Dr Julde didn't have the money to challenge the large purse of Senator Aisha. However, DDI will beat her come Feb 2015. |

barcanista: I concur! Truly Ngige is referred to as Fmr Gov by the media. However, the tenure cannot be wished away. As for Etiaba, no tenure to lay claim to. As u rightly said, Gov Obi's 2 tenures lasted from 2006 - 2014. Etiaba's is no where to be found. |
