OAAC: You cant even read properly, i said SA has its own Channel O and its Own MTV Base, which are different from what you watch, hence you dont see lots of SA Music on your Channel O Africa, because it is dedicated for African Music, not SA Music. Same can be said about MTV Base, There is MTV Base Africa, which you watch, but its not watched in SA because they split the channels, SA has its own MTV Base focussing only on SA Music. You say in Nigeria, SA music is not played, so is Nigerian Music in SA, No body knows who Davido or D Banj is. Your Music gets played on TV together with the rest of African Music, but in SA, we hardly see African Music. Its only SA music thats get played on TV. Its called target market. If your music was so big, Nigeria would have dedicated Channel O and MTV Base, that only plays more of Nigerian Music only for Nigerians. Why do you think your artists are so desperately wanting to make a collabo or future with SA Artists, They want to crack the Rich SA market. Nigerian artists are not known in SA. And you talked about SADC, SA Music gets played from DRC, Angola, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Kenya, the fact that Nigerians dont find it appealing, Thats their own issue. Yes, i agree, there was a time that Nigerian music was at High, for now, SA Music has reclaimed its position as the leading Music capital of Africa. You cant continue fooling people by your fake music where you steal beats from SA House and sing on top of them, and stop Autotune, every song in Nigeria is autotuned, lack of talented singer, so people tend of change their vocal ability by Autotuning them for their voces to sound much better. T-Pain and Akon messed up all your artists. Every track, Autotuned, damn. |

Olalexy1:This is the 2nd time i am seeing someone acknowledging that pluto deserves an award, which makes me feel that Nigerians actually know good music when we hear one no matter where it is from. What i still don't understand is what the so called casper nyovest sang that gave him the award for best male.I also wonder why PSquare's personally did not win best dance award. This award is a scam and the winners had already been decided irrespective of the votes. 1 Like |

OAAC Desparate lies Africans are different... South Africans,Southern Cameroonians,S. Kenyans, S. Ugandans all the way to central and southern Africa are COUSINS are linguistically, culturally and genetically linked. Example a Kenyan Kikuyu or Baganda of Uganda might pick up words in a SA song sang in Zulu or Xhosa,Venda meaning theyr likely to listen to SA,Congolese,Angolan etc..music than Nigerian music. While west Africa is mixed hence its so UNTABLE and wars...

Msawawa am sure YOU WILL LAUGH FOR ONE HOUR. Food security for a mega population...and the Youth - Feedback from the Youth policy dialogue series, Nigeria 16 Apr 2014 by Samuel Kalu kalusam`s Blog Just few days after been nominated as the Local Representative for Young Professionals’ Platform for Agricultural Research for Development (YPARD) in Lagos, Nigeria. I was privileged to attend the Youth and Policy Dialogue Series on: Food Security for a Mega Population organized by HEDA resources, Lagos - Nigeria on 5th March, 2013. It was a very wonderful occasion involving individuals, farmers, scientists, government officials, youths and people from all walks of life coming together to discuss on a very important topic: Food! The programme began with Mr. Kenton Dashiell, the Deputy DG, IITA – Ibadan, Nigeria highlighting the MDG1 goal: Reducing poverty and hunger, he stated that he taught the definition of poverty should be someone who lives on less than say $20 - $50 a day, instead of the $1 a day. Youths in Nigeria do not want to be farmers due to what they consider as lack of profit in farming, He encouraged the youths to create a programme where they can service 10 customers(Farmers) per day at N300 (about $2) per customer. There are various opportunities for youths to help in Agriculture, they include: Providing access to credit facilities for the farmers. Youths should be available in the rural areas where there are more farmers. Due to the recent terrorist attacks in the Northern part of Nigeria and the high cost of transportation from there to the south which has sky-rocketed the price of basic food products especially in Lagos, there is a strong need to grow the following crops in commercial quantity in or near Lagos. They include: Tomato, Onions, Pepper, Vegetables, Okra. Crops like: Turmeric, garlic, cabbage, cucumber and carrot will also do well in and around Lagos. In order to make money from Agriculture, youths need to be as creative as possible. The value chains in Agriculture is very wide, young people need to choose areas in the value chain and make research on them know they challenges the farmers face in these areas and proffer solutions to them. Young people need to do a self evaluation in order to know what they have that others don’t and package themselves to help others meet that need. They need to support agriculture through Agricultural Entrepreneurship. There is a ready-made market for Agriculture. There is no alternative to job creation than agriculture. Some notable Quotes: ‘farm Loans are usually meant to be long term, however the banks want their money in short term’ ‘More than 64 million Nigerians go to bed hungry, everyday!’ ‘70% of foods eaten in Lagos are grown in other states and outside Nigeria’ ‘32% of young Americans are into farming’ ‘Bananas are imported into Lagos from Ivory Coast’ ‘Anywhere there is a problem, that is where the gold mine is’ ‘Agro chemicals are being abused in Nigeria’ ‘I think food & Agriculture are not the only important things in an economy, they are the most important’ ‘We need to understand the entire Agriculture value chain, and know the areas we can fit in then create innovations to meet that need. Farming is highly profitable, farming is the future.’ ‘Private sectors need to come in and assist farmers.’ ‘Start small, think big! – Youths need to start small rather than look for non-existent white collar jobs.’ The Programme came to a close with the Executive secretary of HEDA Resource center, Mr. Arigbabu Sulaimon moderating the general comments and the YPARD Local Representative in Lagos State, Mr. Kalu Samuel making the final Comments, encouraging the Youths to support Agriculture as a means of development: “If 64 Million Nigerian people go to bed hungry everyday then there is a great job for we the youths to feed them, let us all put the ideas we learnt from this programme into use so that together we can feed the hungry population!” If you missed the Programme, you can view the conversation by using the Hashtag: #WetinUThink. |

14 November 2014 TOP 10 STRONGEST ARMIES IN AFRICA, TANZANIA IN THE 6TH POSITION uptop | No comment 1. South Africa: South Africa (South Africa has the most powerful army in Africa; it has more harmful weapons than any other country in Africa; it is the only African country that was trying to create the Nuclear weapon but was stopped by the US. The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) this includes: South African Army, South African Navy, South African Air Force and South African Military Health Service. South Africa has recently lower their budge on army from $7.21 billion 2003 to nearly $4 billion 2011. Trained by Israeli, and British, Americans. South African solders are more armed and more trained than any other country's soldiers in Africa. 2. Egypt: According to recent study, Egypt is considered to be the second most powerful country in Africa. For many years Egypt has been the first strongest country in the continent of Africa. With number of troops exceed that of South Africa, and more suppliers from countries such as United States, Russia, France, China, Italy and United Kingdom, political instability has made an affect to Egyptian Armed Forces. This includes Egyptian Army, Egyptian Navy, Egyptian Air Force and Egyptian Air Defense Command. Egypt has increased their Armed Forces budget from $3.9 billion to $5.85 billion within the last five years. 3. Libya: 4. Morocco: 5. Nigeria: Nigeria has the second largest army by number of troops, but due to political instability and lack of equipment Nigeria has appear to be the 5th strongest country in Africa. It has been estimated that in year 2013-2018 Nigeria may get weaker. 6. Tanzania: Tanzania has the most powerful army in East Africa; The Tanzania Peoples' Defence Force (TPDF) (Swahili: Jeshi la Wananchi wa Tanzania (JWTZ) the one defeated Idi Amin of Uganda with big help form Muammar Al-Gaddafi of Libya and . The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) The Tanzania People' Defence Force includes Land Forces Command, Naval Command, Air Force Command, and Military Intelligence. Julius Kambarage Nyerere (The first Tanzania's President) prepared president Laurent Desire Kabila of DR Congo to take over the powerful Mobutu Sese Seko Nkuku Ngbendu WA Zabanga; also prepared his son Joseph Kabila. Tanzania has trained Congolese solders in Tabora and Kigoma region for Kabila to return in Congo and take over power. Both Kabilas father and son were schooled and lived most of their lives in Tanzania before returning to Congo. Tanzania Also prepared Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who also schooled and lived in Tanzania before the Tanzania and Uganda war that resulted in defeating Dictator Idi Amin. Most Uganda leader got help from Tanzania before becoming leaders. This includes: Tito Lutwa Okello, Yusuf Kironde Lule, and Bazilio Olara-Okello. Recently, Tanzania did not want to send his solders in Somalia but offer training to Somali solders who will soon return to protect their country. Tanzania sent 924 soldiers to lead the African Union Solders in Comoros's Island to take Colonel Mohamed Bacar of Anjouan off power. Tanzania has the 3rd largest army in number troops after Ethiopia, and Eritrea, and recently considered the second in equipment after Kenya, but with more well trained troops. The recent estimation shows that Tanzania is the country in East-Africa followed by Ethiopia. 7. Ethiopia: Ethiopia once was considered the strongest country in East Africa. After continues civil war Ethiopia has gotten weaker. Ethiopia is still has the largest army by number of troops followed by Eritrea and Tanzania, and the 3rd in equipment after Kenya and Tanzania. 2011 Estimation shows, Ethiopia is spending 2.4% of its GDP in military. This includes: Ethiopia Army and Ethiopia Air Force. 8. Ghana: 9. Kenya: Kenya is the second strongest Nation in East Africa Economically after Ethiopia; it is the first in East African Community followed by Tanzania and Uganda. In 1981 Kenya was consider to be the 4th strongest nation in East Africa after Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Somalia. In 1994 Kenya was considered the 3rd strongest country in East Africa after Somalia and Uganda having both economic and political instability caused by war and dictatorship. The estimation indicates that Kenya will get even stronger within next 5-10 years. Kenya has the higher army budget in East Africa followed by Ethiopia. 2012 estimation shows Kenya is using 5.3% of its GDP in military. This includes: Kenya Army, Kenya Navy and Kenya Air Force. 10. kwametut: Who came up with this funny ranking,...... Tanzania doesn't even rank above Uganda in east africa. You might have defeated Uganda long time ago, but these are new times, Uganda might have looks like a rebel group then, but now its a professional army a force to reckon with, Tanzania din't go to somalia for a simple reason...... Afraid of the backlash they are going to face from its own muslim population and from provoking alshabaab, which would then make Tanzania in the list of its targets. The correct ranking in Eastern-Africa goes like this..... 1.Ethiopia--- I myself dont even believe ethiopia to be that powerefull, the always look unprofesional to me, but the scientific analysis of military power index put ethiopia Amry and aiforce at tha position in Eastern Africa 2.Kenya 3.Uganda 4.Tanzania 5.Eriterea 5.Rwanda 6. Burundi 6.Burundi |
