I'm a third class graduate of medical laboratory science. I would like to know if I could be accepted for a masters degree on any affiliated courses in a Nigerian university, without necessarily possessing a post graduate degree.

What kind of graduate are you? If you have attended university at all you where not suppose to come here and be asking, you are expected to have known this right from your first year in the university, or if don't your fellow students knew and should have ask them, though I doubt if you were university student in the first instance.

Somebody with third class Degree would go through Post Graduate Deploma which last for just one year before you can enrol for M.Sc

I think at graduate level there some schools that consider work experience. Especially the experience in the same filed of study.
Re: . by Nobody: 8:17am On Dec 07, 2014
I think ICRM is good. it's just 3 months and you can use that to proceed to ur masters in any Nigerian Federal university.

Absolute rubbish! What if I told you he can actually run his masters program in Nigeria without necessarily going for PGD.

Op try Borno or Nassarawa State University. I'm pretty sure those two schools admit third class graduate directly into their masters program

Where i graduated from (Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma) , there is no way a third class Degree holder can enrol for M.Sc without going through PGD.

May be where you think you can enrolle is one of those Universities that are NOT (NUC) accredited

Well, thanks for all your suggestions and advice, as well as the castigations, perhaps pgd is the way forward.

Dont mind them bro. it is gud u asked. In Unilag, u can do directly MSc Cell biology, MSc Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management, Master of Environmental Management, MIT, MSc Parasitology, MILR, to mention just a few.

So dont waste your money doing PGD.

Just ask first about the criteria of d course. Geosciences and Engineering in Unilag require PGD though.

I must say at first instance your predicament seemed laughable (Indeed I laughed) but really, its good you asked. Believe it or not several people are in need of similar infos, we learn everyday and I always thought Pgd was needed but apparently not.

So, y'all keep the advise coming...

The ironic thing is, most of these asswipes talking down on the OP are probably of barely average intelligence. Na una type go cheat for school finish com out com dey form 2.1 holder, ask them to write a simple essay and you'll be flabbergasted. Your class of degree is neither a career death sentence nor a guarantee for success.. rise above all limitations!!!
