They are not pretenders but incompete in critical reasoning due to mental laziness.

That's why they mismanaged the economy after the war.

I don't see mental laziness, I see parasites period.

It's just that am annoyed seeing an educated people belittling their exposure just because they want federal power at all cost

It sucks when people who attended university can't separate politics from economy

I am a pro-GEJ but if his economic policy is bad, I will criticize it.

There has never been subsidy. It is simply a scam used in stealing. We do not consume as much fuel as claimed by FG. Let a new government enter and all this truth will be revealed.

Why cant the refineries be built in Nigeria and subsidy payed in Naira to indegenous owners?

You are one of the pretenders. If there is no subsidy, then ask the government to get the hell out of the petrol business.

Calling yourself pro GEJ has nothing to do with your previous comment. How you went from petrol subsidies to Yoruba Nation, is very confusing to me.

Subsidy means you pay a fraction of the real cost.

Eg a car cost 100naira and I promise to pay 30naira for you. How much will you pay .? 70naira

Now if the price of the car reduces to 80naira, how much will I pay for you.? 10naira.

So in essense govt will spend less on subsidy

This is clear clueless coupled with voodoo economy. The FG already budgeted an amount for subsidy which remain constant and in the face of crash in price the masses u claimed to be serving should have the relieve effect not the government. There has never been any fresh air it's always a toxic breeze from the government. They are messing up the budget right now.

I will spare you the long details. Various operator companies are cutting their budgets and the one I work for would be cutting their budget by a whopping 40%!. Iwotago? I hope you understand why they are doing that? They can't make any profit at $65 per barrel. The break-even cost of oil as at today stands at between $70 - $80 per barrel. Oil companies simply can't make new investments. Forget the rubbish oil lifting and finding costs that are being bandied around, the averge break-even cost of the cheaper oil shale production still stands at around $67 per barrel! Though prices vary from region to region.

^^^^
Please don't spare me. I want the details.

I have posted on several threads on this so-called fuel subsidy on petroleum products in Nigeria. Nigerians are not being told the truth by the government. We want the truth!!

I want the Nigerian government to provide details of exactly how much it costs to produce and refine a litre of petrol here in Nigeria. I then want the government to provide details of exactly how much it costs to import a litre of refined petrol into Nigeria. The whole petroleum subsidy argument stands or falls on this information. How hard can it be to provide it?

I do not want production costs on a per barrel basis because you have not at any time told us how many litres of PMS, AGO or DPK can be extracted from a barrel of oil. I want an oranges to oranges comparison or an apples to apples comparison.

For the avoidance of doubt, let me ask again: How much does it cost to produce a litre of petrol (PMS) locally here in Nigeria? Is it 97 Naira? More than 97 Naira? Less than 97 Naira? That is the question Nigerians want an answer to. Surely this information should be in the public domain if there is nothing to hide. And while the government people are at it, Nigerians also want to know how much it costs to import a litre of refined PMS or DPK or AGO. We want to compare these import prices with the local equivalents.

We are waiting.

You can see none of them will answer your question because they don't know what answer to give.

We fought this whole subsidy/fuel price war on several other threads such as this one:

https://www.nairaland.com/1952575/fg-spend-n1-trillion-petrol

Some of the combatants on that thread are here now. But they won't answer the clear questions such as the ones you have asked. They prefer to dance around the issue.

We will all meet at the polling booth next year.

159 litres approx. NB: you can only get around 65 - 70 litres of refined petrol from a barrel of the Nigerian type of crude oil.

Yea. Fashola has the local logic correct. However there's an expected increase in fuel pump price due to the dollar-naira exchange rate disparity. Since the naira is losing weight against the dollars, the importers will have to pay more to import the product. Fashola logic would have worked only if we refine the crude here.
and whats making us not refine here? price of gas is so cheap in US now that it reminds me of Clinton era. $0.99/gallon

Fashola's logic is right. The cost of production of a barrel of oil is actually less than or about $10. The fuel pump price is fixed by marketers based on their arrangement and not because of economic realities. There is no benchmark information to compare anAlyssa price of anything in Nigeria, and unfortunately gogovernmen does not show sincerity to regulate the market. Fuel prices should drop because the price of crude is dropping, unfortunately the exchange rate is eequally rising with no intervention from the government. I really think we deserve more than what we are getting
