First thing. Start by questioning the husband closely. Then check her phone, facebook, whatsapp and Internet or sms history. I'm very sure something will come up.

R.i.p to the dead!
Re: Photo: Mother Of 4 Murdered In Her Home In Lagos by Nobody: 5:30pm On Dec 07, 2014
If it was an outsider someone who came into the house to kill her, someone must've spotted this/these person[s] enter and/or leave around that time. It was definitely someone she knew, but it's questionable how this/these person[s] got into the house. Was the door unlocked? Was it someone she was expecting and she opened the door for him/her/them herself? "Them" because it could've been more than one person. Depending on how it was done, it is possible that no one heard her scream. Yes, it's likely they were interested in one particular thing. Although the article says nothing was stolen, even if no material thing was stolen, the person/s obviously met their objective in taking her life. Another possibility is killing her for ritual purposes. Too many unanswered questions.

If the husband's story is true, then he didn't do it. I hope the police won't just blame him without doing a thorough investigation. The husband wasn't home at the time and couldn't have done it physically... unless he hired someone to do it, but why would he do that? The thing is: if he really wanted her dead, he would've done it outside their home to avoid suspicion. Like I said, it was definitely someone she knew/has met before/was familiar with. I feel for the kids, coming home and seeing their murdered mother's body in a pool of blood. I hope their Father can get them a good Therapist to help them cope. If possible, he should move them out of that house. How tragic. RIP to her.

coolA familiar person she must have known murdered her.The person gained access inside freely that was why there was no scream to attract neighbours.

hmmmm!!!! Am just dumbstruck!...... This is a delibrate cold blooded killing. If only Nigeria has a DNA database the killer would ve being caught in notime..... May her soul Rest In Peace. Amen.........

that is why they are doing the national ID card with all 10 finger prints and moreover forensic science is already a course in major universities like I saw in LASU and so on also the masters degree in NOUN...finger print is enough for DNA acquisition.. okay, thanks, bye!

The deceased woman's husband should be the first suspect. Police should see if his alibi checks out. I wonder why he felt the need to explain where he was at a particular time.

About 3 years ago, my immediate younger sister brought home her fiancee for introduction. When i was told he was from the East, i just knew i had to come to Nigeria for security reasons.

So i saw him, young and a smooth talker. I called him to one side and had a man to man talk with him(IF MY SISTER DIE IN ANY SUSPICIOUS WAY TWO OF US WILL TALK/ IF MY SISTER COMOT FOR HOUSE AND NO COME BACK TWO OF US GO TALK/IF THEM KIDNAP MY SISTER AND NA ME FOR AMERICA THEM DEY CALL FOR RANSOM MONEY WE GO TALK/IF MY SISTER BEGIN CRAZE FOR NO REASON AT ALL AND YOUR MONEY DEY FLOW LEFT AND RIGHT THEN WE NEED TO TALK/IF ANYTHING DO MY SISTER WE GO TALK)

You cannot make this up. I actually told him this and he did not find it funny. I was born and bred in Lagos(I am not Yoruba) and around where i grew up, strange things kept happening to this IBO Wive's and that was why i was puzzled my sister brought one home. The guy looked for one excuse or the other not to commit to the wedding and he left with some other girl for Malaysia, and i breathed a sigh of relief.

Today my sister is married to somebody not from where our INDUSTRIOUS brothers come from. So why do i bring this story up? this woman's husband in this story should be asked very well what happened to his wife. Especially when it happened around when it is approaching CHRISTMAS. This is the season where ROBBERY,RITUALS,KIDNAP start rearing its head because our INDUSTRIOUS brothers have to go show off in the EAST.

Lastly, NONE of our FAMILY MEMBERS shall become a VICTIM of anything BAD in Nigeria this December period in JESUS NAME.

In criminal justice administration there is something called alibi. The huzband could have set up a strong alibi. Just saying

He can have provide an alibi[s] because he didn't do it and wants to prove his innocence or because he did and wants to maintain his [false] innocence. If he is innocent, his [strong] abili[s] will do him justice. In criminal investigations, a lot more goes into proving one's innocence besides having an alibi. If he is guilty, no matter how strong of an alibi he has, it can still be dissolved with the use of proper cross-examination and his alibi witness/es will squirm when questioned. Lie detectors aside, there're different techniques that can be utilized in knowing whether someone is telling the truth or not, but I doubt the Nigerian Police is well-equipped. Unfortunately, in a country like Nigeria, security cameras (important for finding out whether he really went to the laboratory or not and checking that his timing in and out are consistent with what he has stated) are non-existent, so are DNA testing and lie detectors, hence, they will have to use other means to get to the bottom of things. It's typical of Nigerians to start blaming the spouse when something like this happens. It's easy and convenient to blame to start pointing fingers at the spouse but that's foul. He has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. They need to investigate a number of people, not just the husband and then narrow down their list. I just hope the mediocre police in Nigeria will take their time in doing their job and not lock an innocent man up up for the purpose of saying they have found the perpetrator and calling it a day, or worse not being able to find the actual killer and dismissing/forgetting about the case.

Let me tell you how it works. The man claims he has gone to work so he is not at home and could not have done it. He deliberately went to the diagnostic centre and even had a colleague bring him home, just to fortify his alibi. Now what the police should do is to investigate all the people and places where he claimed to have been. Review all his calls sometime before the incident and also check up the people he has been calling. Some bit of intelligence work will do
