I fought a demon for 6 years,a demon that almost killed me,a demon that almost brought me to going around begging food,a demon that made me almost take my own life,I was in bondage all the while

Now I finally got delivered after 6 years of battle,I was placed on daily fasting and midnight prayers,I've been excited all these days while waiting for the day I'll quit the fast and the midnight prayers(which is the most difficult)

But sadness took over me this evening that my pastor informed me that the midnight prayers has to be part of me forever, this is a bigger bondage, sleep that I couldn't trade for any other thing in this world

Is this actually a deliverance or just an exchange of sleep to demonic torment?
whoever will believe your story. If only you were honest.

Matthew 11: 28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” my brother you will admit that really, it is an easier alternative to do midnight prayers and fasting than to be a mule to be ridden on by demons and powers of darkness. Please don't consider fasting and midnight prayers as a burden, what I will advice you to do(which I am currently doing because I have some spiritual challenges as of my own) is that I fast till at least 12 pm everyday and at times till 6 pm. And I start my prayers at around 11:30 to 12 am and pray for one hour. That will take me till12:30am to 1 am depending on when iI start. After that you can try to get some sleep.try it that way first. Fast till 12.pm and pray from 11:30 till 12:30. God bless and strengthens you in Jesus name

It's your choice to or not to follow instructions. But be weary, so that you don't give that spirit the legal grounds to return. I wish you the very best in your decisions.

OP Just incase you are being honest, fasting and night vigil for the rest of your life doesn't mean you must do it every single day.I understand it to mean you have to regularly do it at intervals.Choose the most convenient days of the week to fast or do night vigil. You can skip vigils on the day you fast & vice versa. If you fast or do vigil today, you can rest the next day.

Lastchild, about evening fasting, it is something I do on my own since I started seeking God. I've nt heard anybody suggest or talk about it because it is a personal invention of mine....as effective as the regular kind of fasting.

What I do is to make sure I take breakfast, light lunch (very important. It must be light), nd skip meal 4 d rest of the day. In the early morning hours, when I rise to pray, my senses, my spirit become very focused to engage in the prayer of seeking God. My flesh is tamed nd subdued. It is then that I can really pray wit my spirit. This is why we engage in fasting, to give the spirit man control, to make it receptive to the things of God.

It is difficult at first bt u will get used to it in no time.

I also engage in regular fasting. Both are very important but have different purposes. Everything depends on you.

Hello, LastChild. I am an avid follower of your threads, and to be candid with you, I want a permanent solution in your life just as you crave for it too. But I must say at this point, your pastor is right. I just noticed something in you; each time you try to prove it to others that you know it all and that the counsel of your pastor doesn't go well for you, you keep shooting yourself in the foot. Though, you may have been delivered of the spirit of anger, but the *echo* of the anger still resides in you, and if you are not careful that spirit of anger may re-visit. Now, I say this coz, you always use the words "BIG FOOL" on others when you're being advised ( especially when the advice doesn't go down well with you). A child of God knows how to control his/her anger and as well minds the kind of words he/she utters. A child of God doesn't utter vulgar words; you should know that. Uttering such words (vulgar) is an open invitation for spirits of wickedness in high places to come into you and dwell.
Now, this is the reason your pastor wants you to continue your prayer and fasting. He wants your spirit to be FORTIFIED with God's power, and when your spirit is greatly fortified with God's power there will be no room for reckless anger. It is evident that you are still growing in the things of the Lord. You have to keep on growing, and it will get to stage that you would stop asking too much questions about how long you should fast and pray rather, the Holy Ghost will be your counsellor, and things will be easy for you.

Remember, when one dies, the wordly things are no more relevant (vanity), what then counts is your spiritual welfare. This is the more reason you also need to SACRIFICE any wordly pleasures of life that distracts or will take you away from the things of God. Your spiritual life needs NOURISHMENT, just as mine and other children of God needs nourishment.

Wordly pleasures of life (TEMPORARY) or Godly virtues/attribues (ETERNAL) ? Think about it, Friend.

Your last paragraph wasn't needed!
This guy wants deliverance, not eternal life!
I mean, you don't have to pray every night to gain eternal life.

And let's be honest, praying every midnight can be burdensome to many physically!

I used to do that and always felt sick in the morning.
My advice is that the more you grow in Christianity, you will know the right way to handle your prayer life.
So, it doesn't mean you have to be burdened to pray every night for the rest of your life. The more you grow, the more understanding you get.
Just keep praying at night while still developing yourself for now!
