Yawns

I know everyone (ok maybe not everyone) is happy it is less than 20days to Christmas.I am too. Sighs. It's just that that Christmas "feeling" is missing (for now)

Is it just me or the "intensity" of the celebration has declined over the years. Most people getting tired of the whole christmas cloth-christmas chicken-christmas rice thing? Tired of doing the same thing over and over again? Does it have anything to do with finance? What do you think? How long do you think it is going to be before christmas is no more? It's jesus' birthday and people do not get tired of celebrating birthdays, right?

(*Talks to self: "It's just you mickey! It can't be just me"wink

It's not if you understand the true essence of Christmas.

Watch this Please

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWF2JBb1bvM

I have watched numerous Christmas Ads in my life time but this one stands out. This Ad to me portrays the true meaning of Christmas, it's not just about the gifts, the foods, the decorations, the religious angle to it, but it's about reaching out to people, getting together with love ones, family, friends, strangers and even sometimes enemies, people you might not get to meet or see all through the year or life time. It's about being caring and sharing with those we love and those that might be less fortunate in the society.

If all these can be done during Christmas, why can't we consciously keep doing them all through the year? I'm sure this world would be a better place if we all in our little ways imbibe this spirit of Christmas in our daily lives.

Meanwhile this Ad was based on true life story. Yes! it did happen during WW1 in 1914, see link here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_truce

I wish you all Merry Christmas!!!

Serious o.. I enjoyed it then when we were kids and dad will always take us to amusement park and villa, but now? I don't feel the groove anymore. I wait for 25th to come and when its past, i already feel the new year.

Xmas is no more interesting as it used to be years ago. Me think the economy and political weather of Naija is major factor in this dramatic change in Xmas celebration... angry
