It's always very fascinating, the scope of human psychology. Here you have two extreme views. Some saying how disappointed they were about Buhari on TV, because of the way he sounded in his northern accent but they love a graduate Mrs Jonathan's penchant to demolish the queens English. That English is not her first language, as if her degree was thought in Kalabari. That Buhari is incoherent, but at the same time in love with GEJ's muffling on CNN and rather attacked and blamed Isha Sesay for being tough on him with her questioning. Buhari has been around for donkeys, so why pretend now as if you are just seeing a new kid on the block you have heard about but disappointed on meeting him first time? It hilarious. Asking some of you southern bigots to fall in love with Buhari is like trying to convince a die hard Real Madrid supporter to accept that Lionel Messi is the best player in the world or the same for Ronaldo for Barcelona supporters. That's not going to happen. Your mind has already been made up. So, why pretend? Even if the guy is to dance naked at your Nkwo market at your request, it won't make a jot. It was like the killing of Mr Garner in New York last week, some white people blaming his death on him being so fat, hence him dying when choked rather than the police that killed him. I absolutely love the mind blowing results of what politics can do to the mindset of supposed decent human beings who troops to their gods forsaken churches, praying to some unknown gods. Very fascinating. 9 Likes |

Sincere9gerian:...Typical of you, always in a haste to counter opinions..where did I mention in my post that if GMB is elected, HE WOULD BUILD REFINERIES. The Dangote that is building his own, is he going to run it free for the govt You and I know that Dangote's among the cabal holding us down in these country..because of his financial war chest in OBJ's era of election campaigns, he made policies that favoured only Dangote..making him the sole distributor of household consumables and cement in Naija...why do you think persons are complaining of his monopoly in the market...If you say GMB is a fool for building refineries in order to make our crude oil cheap and readily available then..what would you make of GEJ who brags about building 'almajiri schools' in TAN advert as his own form revolutionising Education as if you would send your child or ward to such place or OBJ who had no direct link to GSM but was fortunate that it came to Nigeria in his tenure..but yet brags about it till date as his gift to Nigerians. Buhari/Idiagbon's govt was known to fight corruption and WAI..what is the Symbol of GEJ's govt.. Bokoharam and Stealing-isn't-corruption ...guy you have no case abeg! 6 Likes |

CFCfan: That is where the PIB comes in. Most of the oil magnets in Nigeria who happen to be northerners don't want this bill since it requires local content and expertise. They just have oil fields in their names which they give out on rent to foriegn oil companies. They know next to nothing in managing or setting up operations. This is why the main opposers of the PIB are northerners both in the senate and in the general public. The current administration did take steps to increase local participation by ensuring that crude marketing is done here locally by Nigerians. The Swiss and London brokers are not happy with this and that is one of several reasons the west seems to be antagonizing this current administration. There is more to everything these days that meets the eyes. 4 Likes |

BackDatAssUp:Completely agree. FAAN, NNPC and the others need to be privatised. Nigerians should press on the National Assembly members (Especially the A.bokis members up north who are against the bill for selfish reasons) pass the PIB bill. This bill is the answer needed to Sanitize the oil sector and make NNPC a profit private driving company like Petrobrass of Brazil. True Federalism is the only thing that will fix Nigeria permanently. 2 Likes |

majekdom2: If you want to debate in public back it up with facts and not sentiments. Nigeria leader in foriegn investment in Africa Nigeria High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E Nonye Rajis-Okpara has said that the country will continue to remain the leading destination for investment in Africa. She said that Nigeria was ranked first for two of the last three years and a top three destination last year in Africa, in terms of quantum of foreign direct investments (FDI). The High Commissioner made the remarks yesterday in her speech at the Singapore Management University(SMU). She observed that in the last three years, the nation has received a net FDI of over $21 billion. “The Wall Street Journal’s Frontier Market Sentiment Index which surveys blue chip companies in the US and EU regarding investment interest, ranked Nigeria as the number one country of interest globally”, she said. Okpara said the present administration is also focused on job creation and recalled that on September10, 2014, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, inaugurated the first ever Jobs Creation Board (JCB) to be chaired by the Vice President with the mandate to create 3 million jobs in 12 months. She said that in the last decade, there has been a shift in the dynamics of how Nigeria does business globally. Her words: “We have seen our nation move from a nation that primarily does business with the western world, to one which is more eastward-facing. “This is proven by the fact that Nigeria’s biggest trading partners presently are mostly Asian countries such as India and China”. Okpara said that in addition, the nation has maintained an unprecedented level of fiscal discipline. “We have maintained single digit inflation rates of 7.9% as at April 2014, a figure not seen in over 20 years in the country. In addition, we have maintained a debt to GDP ratio lower than 15%, with the ratio currently standing at 12.5%. “Our fiscal rating has been upgraded and our stock market index grew by 47% in 2013. Economic growth is being driven by trade, manufacturing and agricultural industries. “Currently, we have our strongest macroeconomic environment in decades”, he said. The High Commissioner observed that the nation is restructuring her economy by diversifying her sources of revenue. She said no nation has ever moved from poor to rich status without building a strong manufacturing sector. “For many decades, we relied on the export of crude oil and raw materials, but under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda, we are taking a new dimension. “Industry contributes 26% to our National GDP and manufacturing has grown in the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2014 at 10% and 9% respectively. This growth is fuelled by the formulation and implementation of the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP), a game changer in the advancement of industrialization in Nigeria. “The NIRP is a revolutionary programme to industrialize Nigeria. It is Nigeria’s first comprehensive, integrated, and strategic roadmap to industrialization. NIRP is focused on economic and revenue diversification on sectors where Nigeria has comparative advantages. The NIRP is underpinned by 7 key enablers for Industrialization”, she said. 3 Likes |

[I watched the Interview and I'd rate him 70% His Answers were Simple and he chose his words carefully since he knows Nigerians are watching keenly to twist his words against him! 1. Corruption: "Other Sectors will take time to contribute significantly to our GDP, hence we should prioritize Stabilizing Oil Prices and Plugging Wastage from top to bottom while waiting for other sectors to mature" #Strength: For christ sake, isn't that what prominent economists have been saying all the while?? Plug wastage, reduce cost of governance, diversify(while will not mature any time soon) and use our position in OPEC to stabilize Oil prices(which is fairly stable now)! His ability to summarize this is Simple terms earns him a 60% #Weakness; His Inability to use technical terms and quote figures cost him 40% 2: Security: "The Soldiers are complaining of not having enough Weaponry despite the huge disbursements from the FG" "Nigeria would have Initiated Chad, Cameroun and Niger earlier before now" #Strength: He won the Hearts of the Military by absolving them of blame( smart political move) and laid the blame indirectly on the Govt and Military Hqtrs for siphoning funds meant for combat! He Bolstered this assertion further by saying "Nigeria didn't borrow a Dime while fighting the Civil War, hence a $1Billion Loan is unjustifiable". This also exposes the corruption that is Sabotaging the War effort! I'll give him a 70% in this Regard #Weakness: The Government is already implementing some of his suggestions though late, thus requiring the need for brand new ideas which he lacked! He lost 30% there! 3. Flexibility: "I cannot work outside the Decision of my Party", "I signed the Undertaking..." #Strength: it shows he is willing to work as a team with others who may not share similar Ideals as his! That shows Team spirit and and ability to defer to the Decisions of the Party Hierarchy! For a Man who has been seen as an Autocrat! I think he has proven his skeptics wrong! I give him a 100% in this regard #Weakness: None! 4. Patriotic: "I do not regret truncating the Shagari Regime" I think that was his finest moment! Any Admission of regret would have automatically ended his political career! #Strength: 'Democracy is not an avenue to destroy institutions and watch unprecedented Stealing"! The events in Egypt, Thailand, Burkina Faso and soon Togo all vindicate him! He values State institutions much more than anything and would do anything necessary to protect it! (This is the reason why Sisi and Zida still enjoy 90% popularity in their countries despite toppling democratic regimes)! I score him an 60% in this regard! #Weakness: He should have used events in other countries and the antecedents of his era to back his assertion! He would have used the opportunity to brag about his achievements within his 18month rule as against the Shagari regime! It cost him 40% The Man looked kinda Frail though!] Wish him the Best! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This quite an objective analysis.Well done! 3 Likes |

jcgodfrey:No, you should think a thousand times mate. He arranged to kill himself, so that you will fall in love with him? That is the mindset and thinking faculty of one asking anyone to think twice? Blimey!! But since the northern elites have chosen to employ violence in order to make GEJ look incompetent, well, what can I say but shake my head when ppl say stuff like, "this govt has failed, they can't contain BH.". ..Yes my dear, that is what you should be doing, shaking your head and not talking as your talking make little sense. Every time I heard this lame excuses that someone making it impossible for Jonathan, I said yes! I should tell shareholders in my business that they have no dividend this year because one of our employees vowed to make our business unprofitable and they will feel sorry for me and the directors and go home quietly. 4 Likes |

CFCfan:That is what the PIB bill is all about. To open up both the upstream and downstream sectors of the petroleum sector. This bill has everything needed to provide a level playing feel for people like you and I to participate and make a living out of it. This in the long run will make the sector more competitive and profitable not only for the players and the government but to Nigerians at large, just like what they have in Brazil. Sadly the bill is laying on life support at the National Assembly. |

Those of you criticising Buhari as per his decision on his running mate...Answer this question ooo! In '99, was it OBJ himself dat chose Atiku (After coming back from detention and had ALMOST nothing to fall back on)? In 2007, was it Yar'Adua who chose GEJ? In 2011, was it still GEJ who chose Sambo himself? Who's the hypocrite now . It's a strategy from him! Imagine him voicing out a name yesterday, when their primaries is 3 days away, how would he be able to garner votes from a candidate who is nursing ambition to be his runner up! Besides, I have never seen were the issue of a runner up was in question before the party primaries..Even in 2008, Obama had to defeat Hillary clinton in primaries before we started to hear about joe biden! His response to the So-called Muslim/Muslim ticket propaganda..'My party would decide' is a further indication that he's NO religious bigot and that he can work with anybody...PDP====> Propaganda Development Party. 4 Likes |

signz: PENGASAN like ASUU and NLC national executives are corrupt and the strike has more political undertones to it. The PIB is an executive bill that originated from this administration. It's non passage is a legislative issue and not an FG policy wahala. They ought to picket the National Assembly if they are honest about the PIB passage and not strike. The APC hands are all over this to discredit this govt more with an industrial strike before the elections. 3 Likes |

China's growth and dominant economy today did not begin with Chinnese communist owned farms but by private investments from the west and by Chinnese entrepreneurs who now account for the second highest number of billionaires after Russia.
