Sir Peterichy, this is self over-assumption and expectation that has no basis especially seeing Diamond @ 2.50K, Stanbic @ 10.00K and UBA @ 1.98K. I believe you can do better though...

If GTB can go below #9:00k in 2009. then what makes you think STANBIC won't touch #10:00k again? Better forget that their abracatabra reconstruction in 2012.

If u own those stocks, will u be willing to sell at such wicked prices. Even when by mistake UBA gets to N1 will u still buy or shift the goal post?

Must ppl lose so much money in a particular stock before u buy.

Mind you in 1st Quarter 2012.

UBA traded below #1:70k,

Union Bank traded below #1:70k,

Diamond traded below #2:15k,

Fidelity traded below #1:15k

STANBIC has always been trading
below #10:00k before their Abracatabra reconstruction which took place around August 2012 and i believe history has a way of repeating itself.

At this point let me chip in, Business forum is where you see breeds of ideas and not a competitive platform as most people sees it coz nobody knows it all.

So It's now left for each individual to choose the strategy that works for them depending on their risk apetite because what works for you might not work for me.

Happy investing.

Sir, and you believe that we are in the same financial dilemma of 2008-2012 era as you mentioned? Well, this is not the time to be throwing a stone at a glass house. We are waiting but i can assured you that such self-prediction or self-exclamation of this targets price has no proved basis.

This my 10years in this ministry and I have had my good, bad and ugly experiences, Even now my fund is still trapped in BANKPHB shares since August 5th 2011,

Its not as if they must all hit those price target since I'm not GOD but as a veteran those are my benchmarks or working surface for now.

So nobody is witch-hunting anybody but like I said earlier we all need to stick to the strategy that works for us and turn our MESS into MESSAGE.

If FBNH (an indeed others) really believe their shares are selling well below book value, why can't they buy them back at ~N9 and sell back to the market (via rights/PO) after the allowable period?

We hardly hear anythng like share-buyback in Naija because even the listed coys don´t trust the NSE otherwise why won´t they buy back their shares if they believe the shares are greatly undervalued?

It is a broad daylight robbery for Oando to sell their right issue above the market price, which I know that no body is ready to buy, unless the company categorically tell the investors that, there will be 1-1 bonus after the right issue base on the stated date for qualification of right issue.

I think they already have investors that will buy up these rights. These guys don´t give a fvck about shareholders.

They had not adopted the Holdco structure and the successful 1:5 share reconstruction as @2009.

Exactly my point! They don't even believe in the businesses they are running. Otherwise, it is not rocket science or neurosurgery ... they would have bought back a lot of their shares at this depressed? valuations.

Also an indirect way of rewarding shareholders via an increase in EPS

deceiving shareholders since 1914
