@ Joe980...when re-applying must the person use the same course he/she used b4 in the previous application to reapply? in a situation whereby a person changes to another course, what must the person rectify? And also do these VOs go back 2 ones previous application? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Joe980: 12:23pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
@Anugoson; CIC has all your info logged, when changing course you must show/state why you are switching, your knowledge/experience in the course. All these should be explained in your SOP and backed up with documents. |

mrnilobrawn:There's really no maximum cash to carry only that if you carry above $10,000, you have to declare it. There is no sense though in carrying that much cash in this era of cashless. You have several options: Open a dorm account here in naija with internet banking access (FCMB is great here), get to canada and open an account. You can move your funds via internet banking to your canada account.OR, let someone transfer the funds to you when you open your canada bank account say your folks.Thirdly, just fund your mastercard/visa card and use it here. |

akanni:By opening a dorm account u mean USD OR CAD, also can one transfer fund from NGN TO CAD account or it has to be USD TO USD, CAD TO CAD.? Is GTB & FIRSTBANK MASTER CARD working fine there, how is there charges? |

mrnilobrawn:I meant USD dom account, no bank in Nigeria operates CAD dom account. No,they won't convert NGN to USD for you unless it's PTA(personal travel allowance). You can send USD and it gets converted to CAD at the bank in Canada. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by redribs(m): 2:30pm On Dec 09, 2014 |
Ok, so guys, I couldn’t quite think of another way to lay this good news of mine than to brag about it being the first to open this thread. At least the first medical call sha. Might be inspiring to let you know that I drafted this post yesterday; b4 I got the medical call today. (As in I’m currently drafting this post right now with so much conviction that my medicals would land tomorrow). It’s called Faith. My guts have actually been so audacious since October because I had even booked a US ticket for late December as I have a valid US visa and I intend to connect to Canny from there… mad guts I tell u… but it was actually because it was a cheap offer at the time. No itinerary to Canada yet tho (I’m not that dauntless) but NY to Ottawa shouldn’t be hard I suppose. Anyway, so here’s my application story: This is my second application. My first was refused (obviously), because I couldn’t prove a reliable “means of financial support while studying in Canada”. This successful application had the same sponsor as the first but more money to show for. I even paid a large sum to my school account and attached telex copies of the payment to my application. I submitted my online application on the 10th of October, did biometrics on the 20th of October, and here I am, December 9th with the ultimate medical news. I don’t want to be the one to kill the trend of waiting till TRV is actually approved before listing out docs so I guess I’ll be back in less than 2 weeks to list them… I feel like I just won a grammy, maybe because I’ve been dying to quit my job and this has finally become a real and perfect reason. I love my job tho, but I need the break and I need the further education. Ok, I’m blabbing now… (I guess it’s easier to do that now that I haven’t actually received the medi-call. When I eventually get it, I’ll be too overwhelmed to say much so just know now that this whole verbiage was copy and paste. Besides it’s a new thread so what are we mising space for?) Meanwhile, shoutout to all the gurus that came through, can’t mention y’all, una too much #punintended. I really appreciate each and everyone actually, because I really can’t imagine how TRV applicants outside this NL forum pull thru the processing period without tearing their skin or pulling their hair out, lol. Even when I had nothing to say, I had something to read. And that list… oh that almighty list of hopefuls…CIC would be burnt that they dint get to be the ones to surprise me because the list already hinted me. A quick suggestion tho, rather than put date of application submission on the list, I think we should start putting date of biometrics submission. Wishing other hopefuls success in their applications *hands baton to next in line*. God bless you all as you also receive great news in days and weeks to follow. Cheers. And One love. P.S please, guys that have done medicals recently, is there still need to schedule an appointment with any of the panel physicians? Thanks for your prompt response 12 Likes |
