This is the kind of information an ideal regulatory body like SEC, NSE and those in the likes of Bonniface Okezie should act in the favour of minority shareholders. WILL THEY?? If Lafarge can pay 37.48 for the same stock and now wants to pay only 24. Even in June the improved Q3 2014 result of Ashakacem was not yet out which should have even meant a better deal. THE ASPECT I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND IS, IF I DECLINE THE OFFER WHAT HAPPENS TO MY HOLDING SINCE THERE WILL BE NO ENTITY CALLED ASHAKACEM

You don't have to sell to lafarge...you can sell on the floor of the exchange or wait for when ashaka will be wound down and your 50k per share will be mailed to you by the registrar

For those that lost a lot of money, this is an opportunity to recover some of your money in the short term..I advise you quickly buy some fundamentally sound stocks that have been battered to a low price in preparation for an upward movement expected soon as cowboys want to enjoy their xmas holidays. Please do your due diligence and shine your eyes well well shocked shocked shocked shocked.

Can you kindly give two examples of stocks that are fundamentally sound?

I expect Oando and fbnh to gain slightly in d short term but based on the current economic climate, are those two fundamentally sound stocks?

Investing in ashaka has even turned to a wanton exposure to Boko Haram. The jihadists have stormed in and out of the factory at will of recent to take Hilux vehicles and other things they wanted.

What is really happening to FBN holdings? Everybody feels this stock is fundamentally undervalued, yet it keeps losing value by the day.

I need an answer!

I don't know why also because seems to me like the safest stock in Nigeria and the only one that I have made profits in the past and even minimized risk during the crisis time compare to UBA,UBN and some other banking stocks....

U will be held by this comment when the time comes. No one can time the market or economic crisis. All u could do is buy a stock u perceive is selling at great discount and has good track record and fundamental. Who would have known that Pz would recorver and be selling at it's present price after that disheartening plunge.

So why are they not announcing a share buy-back if they feel the stock is undervalued? Could it be that the coy itself is scared of the NSE? Perhaps, there are better things to do with funds than buying back their own shares.

From the little that I know about FBN shares, majority of the people holding their shares won't sell them and First Registrars knows that........They even complain in one of their articles......
