i could sense that...
First: Update ur microsoft.net framework to v 4.0 or latest v.4.5

to check ur current framework follow : C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework

If that doesn't work :

Roll back to later recovery. Some modems setup doesnt support WE8.1, most works with 8.0

I don't think d problem is from display settings. Someone told me to boot from safe mode. But I don't know how to activate safe mode on my laptop.

Hi,

I changed my laptop screen, it worked for a day. The next day, the light was dim. Then I switched it off for a long time (like a month) and switched it back on (the battery was removed all the while), the laptop screen is pure WHITE (like an innocent angel).

Please what is the problem and what could be the possible solution (do-at-home)

Regards,

Good day all,

I'm faced with a Blue Screen of death error on a friend's laptop. I have done the usual (system restore, last known good config, hard disk CHKDSK e.t.c) but still have BSOD (Stop:0x0000007e)on startup. I've asked him to tell me the last activity he made on the laptop but didn't get any reasonable response.

Please,help out.

Usually happens to PCs with boot sector virus. You need a virus removal tool first. Google TDSSKiller utility, download and use it on system first before trying to install antivirus.

There is an incompatibility in the system. In the BSOD look for a filename that will tell you what is causing it, maybe a driver or something that was installed.

Restart your system before the windows logo appears start pressing the F8 key.

In the BSOD, I didn't see any file name. Only thing is Stop:Stop:0x0000007e followed by a list of four other codes/parameters 0xC0000005,0x8daecef4,0x80786688 and 0x80786260.

OK, was the system OS recently upgraded? Also find out if a new driver was installed or if the hard disk is full or the bios might need updating. There are a number of causes and you need to eliminate them till you get what is wrong.

That's the problem.Owner of the laptop is not even giving me any info on previous activity before BSOD.Hard disk ain't full. I'm suspecting a new driver or the ventilator. Early this cold harmattan morning, I noticed the fan blowing forcefully (hot air) while my laptop which I left on overnight was even silent.
