Sources told SaharaReporters that despite getting earlier assurances from the candidates to step down, several of them pulled out from the agreement and stubbornly decided they will proceed to the convention ground to run against the retired general.

The side meetings had led to a prolonged delay of the kickoff of the convention.

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano said on twitter that he is still in the race.  Publisher of Leadership newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah, also insisted he would run.  Prince Emeka Madumere, who acts as the campaign Director for Governor Rochas Okorocha’s presidential campaign, also told Saharareporters by phone that his principal will contest the primary.

I am thinking that this is a scheme to confuse all of us. They could have instructed their supporting delegates to vote for Buhari

Step down now.. .... Step aside again.. ... Step up soon

Please don't be quick to throw stones. Do you think this thing is easy? This is a very crucial point for the party now. Tonight will determine the future of the party.
APC chieftains are at the moment depriving themselves of sleep to make sure they put their very best foot forward. They need to be sure that whoever comes forward can take GEJ. That's not an easy task as they have to strategize and restrategize.

the truth is if they step down....the delegates supporting them cannot vote for buhari becos they either hate him due to prejudice or they have been offered the foreign war chestø
so either way....buhari will gain little....so they have to be in the game to split turakis vote

APC I HAIL THEE
Re: New Twist: Okorocha, Nda-Isaiah Refuse to Step Down for Buhari - SaharaReporters by Nobody: 9:51pm On Dec 10, 2014
