Getting deported is not the end of the World. I have known a lots of people who have been deported to Nigeria from Chicago and some of them have dusted themselves up doing fairly well in Nigeria. Be positive and use your energy to create a bright future for yourself. Good luck to you.
you talks as I think ham!! We wey never travel before dey do nko? We no get nothing to worry about, we no even get passport talkless of visa, except you wan show you my national ID card because since my passport lost in 2007 after collected from ikoyi, I have never bothered to even get another one, we spend everyday, Bleep everyday, we even have our own house and live like a king in where some mumu called jungle nigeria, if nigeria is a jungle, who told them, they can't live like a king. I am loving life in Nigeria.

@ OP, since u I've been sent back home try cool down a bit afterwards give other country a shot such like USA Canada Australia and other small countries in Europe, when filling the form don't inform them that u have been to Britain just live that question blank like u made miss Kate!

If u don't have money now u can use the little u have to open small business like barbing saloon and dry cliner or car wash with special machines for it all this little thing ppl over look give money big time, our problem is that we want to hammer big time, hopefully this will help if u can mellow down a bit, good luck

i know is unrelated question, but please i need urgent help, I inadvertently washed my jeans with my passport in it yesterday. and now is the passport is a totally waste, i was planing on applying for the emergency travel certificate but form nigerian embassy UK website it seams that is meant for only stole or missing passport.

the reason i apply for it not renewal is that am planing coming back to Nigeria this weekend saturday to be presides, i still have a valid visa so my question are

1) can i apply for emergency travel certificate though my passport is damage not stolen or missing
2) if no should lie and get a police report that my passport is stolen
3)i have a police report, but a break in in our house, that is the police just mail me a letter stating that my case is still on going.

i really need to travel this weekend,

My brother after carefully reading your post, I am sorry to say this, but "Your travel credentials have been screwed up" esp to Schengen Zones, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, basically countries which share info with UK embassies, lets put it this way, English Speaking countries.
You are now limited to Asia (except Japan and South Korea), Russia, Kazakstan, Turkmenistan(I doubt if Turkey will issue their Visa to you under such circumstances, because Turkey really considers Visa's and travel document remarks from OECD countries) and African countries.... oh yeah and the middle east (Except Israel) sorry man, you should have followed the rules.
A Visa Cancellelation is the highest screwup you can offer your passport.
Just run your things in Nigeria.

Nothing do you. You no commit crime. My advice, keep urself busy, enroll in a sch asap so in future when u wan travel again, u have proof u have been busy bettering your life and not just hanging around.

Don't listen to the guy I quoted, I bet he never even travel before.

Sorry about this bro, God is your strength

I am assuring you that God is only trying to usher your footsteps toward where your destiny would be fulfilled.

Let me share little story about myself wt u so as to encourage u.

My NYSC ended in 1999 in Abuja, I was meant to go back to Lagos but I refused to go cos I was getting spoilt by my parents in terms of pocket money and all that. I got to tertiary institution to learn how guys were involved in so many fascinating things(killing neighbour chicken, chasing girls etc) while growing up which I didn't have access to and I hate my parents for that....................

However, i equally wanted to struggle like every other graduate out there; I wanted to do better than my dad, I wanted to be richer than anybody in my entire family from d first generation to my generation but without any help from my aunties, uncles, dad and my mum, my future in Abuja looked uncertain

I decided to lie to my parent that I have gotten a kind of intership with a particular company called Panabiz at "area 3" that would fetch me some money to survive on

I slept in uncompleted building somewhere before Lugbe federal housing and never allowed my parent to know what I was going through. I pretended as if everything was cool

I kept struggling, I ll pick up my CV every morning and walked from area 1 towards area Area 10 in search of any vacancy; yes, any vacancy

However, one day, I was standing at a bus stop around police commard in Garki 2 and I heard someone telling his friend on the phone how lucrative video renting business was and tapped into this

I put the little wealth of my parent aside and shame aside, started my video renting business with little capital outlay

I was moving from one federal ministry to another and I eventually became famous in most of these federal ministries and parastatals and couple with my handsomeness though grin grin grin grin grin(killed yourself haters-OTE)

I was stylishly dropping my CV while doing this business then I realised I was making a whole lot of money.

In a space of 6 months, I got a job with Ministry of police affair through this business, and before you know it again, I got another offer from Lacasera drink (northern region head office in central district area Abuja, close to NNPC towers).

Equally made about #200,000 as a fresh graduate within that 6mths in 1998/1999.

My destiny was becoming fulfilled when my parents called and insisted that I must come back home..........

But just imagine that I was able to continue like that in the same Nigeria, ........

The essence of my story is to let you know that there so many places where opportunities abounds in Nigeria and it is left 4 u to discover and exploit them......

Sir, judging him not, say your bible or quran! All he needs right now from u is encouragement. What you failed to realise is that load of Nigerian guys did exactl what you suggested at d second paragraph of your post but regretted their action of coming home to get married; most applications were rejected and they all ended up in Nigeria. All effort to go back to Uk proved abortive.

If you as a person finds life easy as a student, another person might find it tough and unbearable due to one thing or the other

my brother its well.....i have a different story to tell you and damn it was this bad for me back than.......i understand how you feel.....its like your life is shot down in front of you and you cant do shit...

i travelled to the UK summer 2007 on a six month multiple visiting visa had a swell time with lots of money.....i came back during the same summer and was planing with a group of my friends to go back....by january 2008 we all applied for a 2years visa.....i made my plans on how i will integrate into the society becos i loved it there...

i was planing to find love becos if it was for the paper i had one gal in dat my short stay ready to give me if i would allow her have a baby for me....but i said no becos the manner i met her was not a good one since she was my guys tou tou dat they all had thier way on for pills....

so janaury i and five of my friends applied for a two years visa.....all was given including me....but to my dismay when i opened it a 2 years visa was stamped on my passport but it had being cancelled with a pen... cry cry cry cry cry cry

and boldly written were the words CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE ..... angry angry angry angry

till date i am yet to come to terms with what that means.....i tried to apply again twice that same month making it the third time in janaury and finally the entry officer EO told me in a letter that i am sounding desperate becos truly i was.....all my friends left me here and are gone till date

i cant even chat them up anymore becos once you are outta of the UK people forget about you with time.... grin grin grin grin

i know how you feel......for me since 2008 i am still here and trying to be on my feet....i had it good but things with the global melt down and my low account made me know i must be busy here for the main time...

what does this mean to you.....only you can best describe it.....people will begin to ask questions.....wetin you do.....wetin happen....you no go go back.....eya na wa oh......see life.....all sort of pity party.....ur friends in da UK will not be helpful so dont expect much from them....if they still call you make you dey thank God..... grin grin grin grin grin grin sometimes i dey beg dem to even flash me.......most go enter nija i no go know till dem go back becos i am no longer important angry angry angry angry angry angry but these were niggas i was feeding back then angry angry angry angry angry

just get busy when money come you go know where you wan travel go again

@Deflover,

Interesting story.

What matters is that you're now doing something good with your life.

Most likely something big awaits you in 9ja there, keep looking for it.

As for friends in UK, the daily struggle is not easy. Many bills to pay.

I guess you know visting is quite different from making a living in UK. It takes a lot of effort.

People generally become more individualistic in the West, it's just the way it is.

However, genuine friends will still keep in touch. And genuine friends, you know, are few and far between.

When most people have nothing to benefit from you any more (at least if they think so), your friendship is hardly desirable.

Sad but true.

Dude, dont sweat. Where there's a will there's a way. If you really wanna get back to the UK you can. Few questions: Where you finger printed either by the immigration officer or at the airport ?, Did you pay for your own ticket back to naija ?, 3. Did you leave on your own accord abi dem Man gate say oya enter plan ? 4. How many months left before your passport officially expire ? 5. When does the student visa expire ? 6. Was your passport stamped with any annotation other than entry/exit stamp ? 6. Did you or your french woman confess to any shame marriage ?
Re: DEPORTED From The UK!! by Lanspower(m): 6:45am On Dec 12, 2014
@op. First of all you were not deported but removed from the UK and it may interest you that deportation doesn't mean the same thing as administrative removal. When you were placed in the detention centre did you purchase your flight ticket yourself or the a Home Office got it for you? You can apply for a UK visa after 1 year if you purchased your own flight ticket provided you meet the visa condition and I assure you that your case would be treated in its own merit. However if home office purchased your ticket you will have to wait for 5 years not 10 years. Regarding your chance of traveling elsewhere, your only problem is the Republic of Ireland. You should be fine with other countries coz your were not a criminal that got deported but an immigration offender that got removed

False.

Countries do not routinely share visa applicant details. You can apply for US, schengen or Irish visa but obviously you wont declare your deportation.

I personally know 2 people who have had UK home office wahala.

First guy was deported. Went to the high commission and applied for a UK visa with another name (before finger printing), collected 6 months, then 2 years and finally a 5 year visa. By the time the 5 year visa expired, the finger printing process had started so he has never bothered to reapply for a UK visa. Since then he has been to over 20 countries including the US and several Schengen countries. He has a house here he rents out so anytime he needs to come over, he flies to Ireland on his Irish visa and people wey sabi can fill in the rest.

2nd guy ran away from a police investigation and returned to naija. Kept coming in on his 2 year visa. When he reapplied, they pointed out the error of his ways in running from plod and They kukuma dash am 10yr ban. Since then he has obtained a student visa and studied in western Europe and has also applied for and obtained a 2yr US visa.
Bro I'm not talking about what is criminally posible which is what your story is all about, I'm talking about reality here, your second person experience narrative happened before finger printing was introduced so it's not applicable in this case.

I am aware of a lady who while in nigeria was banned for 10yrs from travelling to the uk
her boyfriend who was then in the UK had to relocate back to nigeria
they are now married, and she recently travelled to the US for a visit without any issues

my bad advice to you is for you to gradually and carefully test the waters
you probably were not deported in the real sense of the word, neither were you convicted
so, i see no reason why you should offer more information than neccessary
also, you are still legally married to that lady if i am not mistaken (i only read the 1st page of your thread)
try to confirm this from the authorities

you probably should try travelling to her country as a first step

You had student visa

You sponsored yourself, but ran out of cash and decide to stay or ....you actually secured the student visa with the sole aim of entering the UK, then got involved in a sham marriage with the sole aim of having residence permit....

My only advice is; you have no valid reason going abroad.

Note: its not because my visa had expired, ofcourse i had my valid student visas but not allowed work at all. Now i am in my fatherland thou not planning any travelling anytime soon, i want to find out from wise people on here if this situation has jeopardise any future travel plans anywhere in the world ofcourse except the UK.

Ikebesupa:
Yes it has been a tough one trust me its not easy however, it can't ever weigh me down or stop me. It can't ever stop the sun & the rain or even the world from spinning around. @zeezahbee, ofcourse its arranged one ! I ain't the first person to have done that and you got to do what you ought to do to survive but the choice that i have made didn't work out the way i thought it would. I thank you all for all your contributions, its really very nice of you guys. @classicalmusic, thanks a lot. That is real life experience broh. My current ppt got 12 weeks to expire. What do you reckon? share whatever you got on here. Cheers mate

@Ikebesupa
I am aware of a lady who while in nigeria was banned for 10yrs from travelling to the uk
her boyfriend who was then in the UK had to relocate back to nigeria
they are now married, and she recently travelled to the US for a visit without any issues
my bad advice to you is for you to gradually and carefully test the waters
you were not deported, neither were you convicted
so, i see no reason why you should offer more information than neccessary
also, you are still legally married to that lady if i am not mistaken (i only read the 1st page of your thread)
try to confirm this from the authorities
you probably should try travelling to her country as a first step

Read well before you give people wrong adverse, sham marriage is illegal and its a crime.

Interesting twist...did you travel as a work permit holder or student as you stated before?
