Babymama1:Of course I have been reasonable and there is no laid down rule that stipulated that changes can no longer be made at the dying minute for a noble cause. There would always be room to make changes if we decide to make one and not excuses, after all nobody will die if you make it that way. |

Truckpusher: Nigerians appear to be, by nature, very lawless people. The rules were posted weeks in advance on two separate threads. Everyone had a chance to debate them... where were you then? Secondly, this is a private endeavour. Those who set the rules have the right to make the criteria that they deem fit. If you dont like it, feel free to set up your own competition. Do you also have problems with oil companies who set up scholarships strictly for university undergrads? 2 Likes |

Jasi7: I'm sorry but if a way is made for you then same should be done to everyone. The longer i live in the US the more i realize why things don't work in Nigeria/Africa in general. Everyone wants rules bent for them. The rules are the rules, if you dont have the necessary documents required for the competition then too bad. try again next year. 3 Likes |

MissMeiya: If this is the case then why was truckpusher not accepted? I mean if we simply bend rules willynilly then why dont we just have everyone eligible? Why even have rules in the first place? 1 Like |

MissMeiya:The rules are funny and nothing to write home about. I doubt if you guys can get the best writers here. I do prefer to keep mum at this time. What are the judges qualification first of all? Do they really have knowledge for this? I need a feedback. |

babyosisi:by midnight 14 Dec do you mean the midnight of 14th or midnight 15th? As in does this end 11:59pm of 13th or 11:59pm of 14th? |
Re: babyosisi Christmas Essay Contest by Classicalmusic: 7:36am On Dec 14, 2014 |
davidylan:I've just asked an honest question and I'm expecting a good response. If anyone is hurt, there's nothing I could do about it. Competition is all about talents and so, we must have talented and qualified judges. This is purely ethical and not unethical. Good luck to those taking part anyway. |
Re: babyosisi Christmas Essay Contest by Nobody: 7:42am On Dec 14, 2014 |
Classicalmusic: this above is the very definition of word salad. A lot of words strung together but without really making much sense. 1. You're expecting a "good response" based on? Did you contribute to the gift and thus feel a need to have a stake in the competition? 2. Competition is all about talent? Depends on who is setting the rules no? 3. We must have talented and qualified judges... and who defines what "talent" and "qualifications" are required and what the criteria should be? You? 4. This is purely ethical and not unethical - i have no idea what this even means. See, this is the typical nigerian phd syndrome. Everyone feels the need to criticize something... somehow i think it is the only way we feel we can boost our flagging self esteem. 1 Like |
