Dear VO, my hubby and i applied for a usa visa last year and we got two years. We travelled together and came back together. After few months, our marriage broke up and we got divorced. Both of us have good jobs. I head a dept in one of the ministries in lagos state(civil servany) and have 3 kids. I intend to visit the usa again with my children. Will it be easy getting them a visa, if not, i can leave them, visit and come back to my adorables.i also wish to change my status to divorced with the embassy. How possible is dat. |

Hi VO, Compliments of the season ! Could you please confirm if filling a form G-325A together with I-129F is a must? If yes, is g-325a to be completed separately by both the petitioner and the beneficiary ? Lastly , for someone who lives in Houston Texas where should you send your completed forms to? Thanks a lot for your time ... |

bree01: Well, the petition may be approved fairly quickly, but right now there is around a 13-year wait time for an F4 visa from the date of filing until it can be scheduled for an interview. I suppose it's possible that in the distant past the wait time was much shorter. Repeatedly checking the status does not make anything get processed faster. |

godfather007: Greetings, Yes, the G-325A should be completed for both the petitioner and the beneficiary and included with the I-129F. It doesn't matter who fills out the G-325As as long as the information is complete, but both parties must sign his or her own G-325A. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-129finstr.pdf has a list of all the documents you'll need to provide. The direct filing addresses for all I-129Fs are as follows: For U.S. Postal Service: USCIS P.O. Box 660151 Dallas, TX 75266 For Express mail and courier deliveries: USCIS Attn: I-129F 2501 South State Highway 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067 Hope this helps! |

Hello VO, Compliments of the season! My fiance and I received our NOA2 (case approval) two days ago. I am so excited because we are getting close to meeting you personally during the interview (hopefully) From all your posts, I deduce that you are an amazing person despite the façade we on the other side see. Have fun on your vacation (I believe that's what it is). Take lots of pictures too 1 Like |

Good evening VO, I applied for a USA conference Visa which was approved this Last Thursday, but when I got home I realised my passport photography was returned to me but my Int. Passport was collected. Does this mean that the passport photography isn't needed? Thanks in advance for your response. |

veecee29: I'd list the registry marriage, as that's the one that you have documentation for. (USCIS will want to see your marriage certificate.) Hope this helps! |

Hope you're enjoying your vacation mam? Please I'd like to confirm that is there any chances that someone whose K-1 case got approved this month @ USCIS would likely get January/February 2015 For interview? This is because I read some of ur response saying January and February interview has been slated already. Thanks ma |

Good day to you ma and compliments of the season ! My name is Oluwafemi. Myself and my two kids with the case numbers LGS2014572028, LGS2014625024 and LGS2014625026 respectively are currently scheduled for immigrant visa interview on December23,2014. Ma, the questions are: (a) In less than ten days to our interview date, is it possible to reschedule our interview date till sometime late next year? (b) Is the U.S Embassy guards will permit my wife, (USC) the petitioner to accompany us to the interview? |

stevewale: Greetings! It's been a great vacation but I am eager to get back home to Lagos. As soon as we receive your case from NVC, we'll contact the petitioner with instructions for making an appointment online. K visas are technically non-immigrant visas, so people can schedule their own. That means that if there are appointments available in January and February, you can go ahead and grab one -- and even if there isn't one available at the moment, someone will likely cancel at some point in the near future. Good luck! |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 6:44pm On Dec 14, 2014 |
takin35: My advice is to tell the truth in your interview, and if you qualify for a visa, you'll likely receive a visa. |
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 6:47pm On Dec 14, 2014 |
iamoluwafemi: Greetings! Yes, you can e-mail us at LagosIV@state.gov and ask us to reschedule your interviews for a later date. But make sure you don't let more than 12 months go by without contacting us, or we'll assume you're not interested in continuing with your cases. We generally do not allow petitioners to come to the interviews. Our waiting room is usually very full and noisy, and an additional 50 to 100 people simply wouldn't fit. However, if the officer seems unconvinced that your relationship is bona fide, please let us know that the petitioner is in Nigeria and available for an interview -- sometimes that is very helpful. Hope this helps! |

Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 8:03pm On Dec 14, 2014 |
takin35: Unless there's more to the story than you've written here, no one's going to arrest you for having used a false identity in the past. You'll have to be very credible to convince us that you're telling the truth in your next interview, but if you can convince the officer that you intend to use the visa correctly, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that you could receive a visa. |

VisaOfficer: Thank you so much ma for your quick response. What do I need to bring along to the interview to proof that our marriage is bona fide? The only evidence I have are hundreds of pictures taken (before and after our marriage) from the last 2 years, flight tickets, countless personal emails, Skype chat log, marriage certificate and if it comes to it there are definitely friends and family (from both families like some of my childhood friends, my children, sisters and my mother) ( from my wife's side like her friends, parents and her two sisters, even her niece) who will validate our marriage and relationship. She also include me and the kids on some life insurance at her working place. She is a Physician Assistant. I also have invoice of the items I bought in our US address and on our names. Can you please suggest what I should include? Because it is clearly a genuine relationship but we also don't want to give away more than necessary because if anything is needed we can bring it to our interview. Thank you ma. Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by VisaOfficer: 12:13am On Dec 15, 2014 |
iamoluwafemi: All of that is great -- except for affidavits from family and friends, which don't carry much weight with us because affidavits are secondary evidence, not primary evidence. I'd say give USCIS copies of items like photos and e-mails, but have the originals handy to show at the interview. We try to return all originals when the interview is over (feel free to remind us if we forget). The invoices from the U.S. sound good, too. The most important part of the interview, even more than any document, will be what you and the kids have to tell us, though. |

Hello VO, My cousin invited me for her graduation ceremony in the US. I have a letter from her university addressed to the embassy. My worry is that I'm not married and my only ties to this country is my job. I have a sister that lives in the US and I will stay with her during my 14 day break. I have another cousin who is studying in havard university. I have never been refused a visa before. I have traveled to the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UAE. I don't know if I should go ahead and apply for the US visit visa this time for fear of rejection. It would be lovely to know my chances. I would rather not apply if I'm not in good standing. I look forward to hearing from you. |

takin35: That happens to a lot of people, unfortunately. The best course of action is to be completely candid and honest about what happened. If you qualify for a visa now, as long as you don't try to hide what happened in the past, the officer will likely be inclined to listen sympathetically. |
