My Pregnant Wife Was On Phone With Me When She Was Killed – Slain Corps Member’s by chamber2(m): 10:59am On May 14, 2011 |
Sitting dejected, gazing at the casket bearing the remains of his beautiful wife lying-in-state at the Government House, Awka recently, Mr. Peter Ezennaedozie was every inch a devastated man. He was still in shock and confusion, as he could not comprehend why his four months old marriage should come to a tragic end just because his wife, Mrs. Agnes Ezennaedozie (nee Anyanwu) went to serve her fatherland in Bauchi State. The late Agnes, who was a Business Administration and Management graduate of Ebonyi State Polytechnic, was slain in Bauchi State during the post-presidential election crisis in the North, as she was burnt with her six weeks old pregnancy in a police station. Telling the tales of his misfortune, the Achina, Aguata Local Government Area born Ezennaedozie, told Saturday Sun, in agony, that he was even speaking with his wife, who was reporting to him her helpless situation, before her assailants descended on her. Describing his pregnant wife’s death as a great loss, Ezennaedozie urged the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, do something about the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, noting that the northerners, having made it clear, with the killings, that they do not want southerners in their states, for the programme, it would only be fair for southerners to serve in the South, while northerners serve in the North henceforth. He said: “It is callous killing innocent people because of politics. It is too bad for someone serving his country freely, armless to be killed by somebody, from nowhere. So I pray that the Federal Government should do something and stop this barbaric act. “Again, I want the country to do something about this service of a thing. People from the north should serve in the North; then southerners should serve in the South because I see no reason somebody will freely go to the North to serve his nation and would be killed, for no just cause. After all, the northern corps members are in the South and nothing happens to them. We did election here; we did it in the North: there was nothing like riot here. It is only in the North, where they killed people. Talking about his marriage, he said: “We just wedded in February. Now I lost her. She was pregnant, about six weeks pregnant. I lost everything. I lost her. I lost the baby.” Narrating further his last discussion with the wife, on the fateful day, Peter said: “She called me on that day, telling me that there was trouble in the place; that they were rioting in the area. I then asked her, where she was. She said they had been taken to the police station. I asked her if the police station was safe. She said yes, adding that the police assured them that nothing would happen to them. I was reassured. “But 10 minutes later, she called again and started telling me that the people are approaching the police station. I told her to leave the police station and run for her life. She said the attacker had already surrounded the police station and the police could not do anything to help them. “They poured fuel on the police station building and put fire and when my wife was trying to run out, I was still communicating with her. So, at a time I lost contact with her, but I heard a scream, after that I did not hear anything again. I kept on calling the line but nobody picked it until after two hours; one man picked the call and I asked him if I could speak with the owner of the phone. He said the owner of the phone was seriously injured. I asked if I could speak with her, that she was my wife; the man now said there was no how I could speak with her, that she was unconscious, that they were trying to rush her to the hospital. “So they rushed her to the hospital. After three hours, she spoke to me in pains and said that all her body was burnt. I even have some of her pictures in my phone. She received about 58 to 60 degree burnt.” http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/living/2011/may/14/living-14-05-2011-001.htm |

It unwise for any southerner to want to stay in that part of Nigeria at the moment. It is the same as living in Afghanistan or Somalia. Not even a million is worth it,unless you are there to fight. 1 Like |

All your Anti-GMB propaganda will not work..where were you when our graduates were hung in the sun to dry like smokedfish for hours and later killed by a stampede? Only for your useless Abba Moro to say they died because "they were not patient enough" Where were you when countless youths were gunned down by the NPF? Where were you when Festus Iyayi was killed by a Governors's convoy? Where were you when pro-GEJ Asari was threatning war if GEJ lost? Did you create threads when this happened? Nonsense thread..Useless TANite OP. |

The blood of all those killed in the aftermat of 2011 election will never allow Buhari (whose unguarded uterances led to their death) to rule this country either in this life or the next. The name buhari has an echo of death. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Beync:I definitely do not support these senseless killings in the north. it only gives me a bad image and puts me at risk. and for my level of education, I could never engage in any ethno religious crisis. however, having established that going on rampage and killing innocent people is very evil, as cannot dispel the fact that curbing the cause is more important than condemning or mourning the outcome. the rigging of elections is a key cause where the number of votes exceed the no of voters. I remember vividly one of my lecturers said at his polling unit in 2011, they were just 300 but when the result waz announced, over 2000 votes were recorded for them. how do u expect such people to react? the way we post things online without recourse to its implication in real life is also a cause for concern. this post is indeed inciting southerners against northerners by using the pains of the bereaved. just read the comments, southerners accusing and insulting norgherners. do you think the northerners will be happy with this? dont you think that such will further exercabate the situation in case another crisis breaks out? things like this only put people at risk and those singing war song may not be there to help bury the dead. may God help us all. |

Osinbajo just ends up beign the ultimate joker card that nails the 2015 election to the apc. He is a professor whose qualification and intellect exceeds that of gej and sambo together. He would complement gmb in vibracy and articulation. He is from the west, knowing politics is a game of numbers you have to seal your block to the best of your advantage, now that we know the stand of the north to gmb, it became imperative that the v.P be from west as the zone enjoys apc support but to further see their advantage even to ondo, ekiti, a westerner is best now the west knows where it stands. Giving the vp to rochas wouldn't have made the west sealed, with the igbos and their hatred for gmb it would have been a diaster to try and please them while they would still go with gej, that would have left the west hanging in balance. Osinbajo is a christian, and for the first time in history a pastor as v.P, this has killed the rumor of an islamic idea pdp strongest point over gmb, osibanjo is not just a pastor but a pastor in one of the biggest christian body. Now he holds a greater advantage naturally even to gej that is a church attendant, osibanjo preaches the gospel itself and lives for it. This would pull back the sympatheizers of jonathan only because he is christian. Osibanjo has associate relationship with adeboye, infact he is a leading piooner of the church we know adeboye influence on the christian comminity. Osibanjo is a fresher who has had good strides in the lagos led fashola govtment. His achievements speaks for a man many undecided votes have asked for fresh change of old politicians, these undecided can see osibanjo for his attributes. Osibanjo can pull the christian community across the east and south that are only supporting gej becos of religion and not performance. Osibanjo is an astute lawyer at his peak and exudes the motto of CHANGE which apc preaches. Osibanjo is coming from the university setting which many youths can associate with becos of lecturers student relationship. Osibanjo does not have the dirty past that any one can use against him. While amaechi and oshomhole would have failed to even secure a typical akwa ibom, calabar, delta, bayelsa that is gej stronghold. Any as v.P would not have been capable to fully convice the east and would have also given loop holes to the west under its control. Their would have been series of cases that would be dug up to rubbish amaechi and oshomole that would utimately make mokery of gmb corruption stand. The game of politics is sealing control of your block first. Osibanjo is the best to seal the west, reach undecided voters, and christians who predominatly occupy the east and south. |

Okay. Talk about the general who incited the illiterate youths to carry out the blood bath and not how thhe already injured southerners insults the north. There is no justification for this, whatever happened, its creul. san316: |

Northerners are the worst people to dwell with. When they go mad, they can NEVER EVER remember the good you did for them and straight, they will draw their knife on you. Better they allow Northerners to serve in the North and allow Southerners serve in the south. They can go ahead and kill their own since they do not have conscience. 1 Like |

Beync:that is where you all are being unjust to the poor man GMB. in what way did he incite the people? was it before or after he lost the election? all I remember is that before the elections, he told people to protect their votes. that is by staying during counting, escorting the votes to collation centers and making sure there is no rigging. I am sure you never heard where he said people should lynch christians but just judging based on what you may have heard from lobbyists. election violence did not start with buhari losing elections. so it is unfair to say that he incited people. and mind you, im not justifying any form of violence. it is evil. I m only trying to vindicate the person being wrongly accused of causing it. I assure you, GMB has not made the so called incisive comment but the wag things are going, there might be a repeat of 2011. |
