South African foreign dollar debt is a whopping $40 billion, while Nigerian debt is a fantastic $7 billion we can pay off 5 times over and still have pocket change left for new weapons procurement

.

And so?

you are spending 20% of your money on your military and you barely spend more than we do.

Yet your are at war
We are at peace

Yet your army is 130-150 000
Ours is 79 000

We spend twice the money per man in peace time

Foreign reserves are not usually static and can go up or down slightly. Nigeria still has surplus by reserves minus debt, South Africa ends up in deficit as your debt swallows up all your reserves....bad economy is the legacy your corrupt and incompetent ANC will hand over to future generations
.

wtf is this guy talking about?

South African debt is carefully regulated and controlled, we wont just wake up one day in a deficit, you clown.

And we intentionally carry less than 35% of GDP in debt as that is mainly held in forex which we use to stop our trade deficit exploding

People who just throw out raw numbers in terms of debt%/GDP are normally complete idiots and have no idea what they are talking about

Everything about SANDF has now become likely all because SANDF is so broke, no soldier is sure of his job because of impending retrenchment while all weapon/equipment purchase has been suspended indefinitely.

.

hahahah

So the tenders we released for OPV and IPV are not acquisitions?

Every SANDF branch had its budget pumped up in the last round of budget allocations

No, Tende is NOT = Acquisition.

Acquisition = Purchase.

You don't have money, so you CANNOT purchase, except you pay with Rhino horns till there is no Rhino left in SADC region.

The other way is to steal OPVs that are built for other buyers and you end up in jail
.

That Damen is neither an OPV or IPV, at about 50m it is an MPV, I just said OPV loosely, I didn't intend to be specific, but yet a 47m Damen can go OPV mission at tines. You are wrong to call it an IPV, it's size is MPV mid-shore patrol vessel. You are also wrong to say they are for civilian fishing agency, nope, they are Nigerian navy's 5 units of the Dutch boats and will be the armed versions.

https://beegeagle./2014/05/22/nigerian-navy-expecting-five-dutch-built-ships-mystery-ships-believed-to-be-47-metre-damen-stan-4708-midshore-patrol-vessels/

Your limited source was talking about civilian catamarans, patrol catamarans, combat catamarans, all versions of catamarans and gave general information.

My source was focused on the topic of combat catamarans and talked about missiles on the catamarans and their stealth capabilities.

Your source did NOT mention missiles and stealth because it was general info for all versions. I did better research and got a better source directly relevant to the topic.

You were foolish enough to challenge me that's why you got yourself messed up, I warned you that the topic had been fully discussed and argued here last year among many people including South African military men, you should have been smart enough to avoid trying to prove me wrong on a topic I have fully researched into.

Don't misuse your google button next time, learn your lesson dude grin
.
Dude do you even know how the Stan Patrol 4708 looks like, and we have 3 of them, and all 3 are with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of South Africa, and the stan patrol 4708 only has a range of 2500nm, not enough to do proper Offshore duties.

As for you catamarans, the X-38 come in different variants, mostly civilian variants, thus it was never build with stealth in mind, the only difference is they made the combat version a bit more sleek and it thus has a slightly smaller or minimum radar footprint compard to the other classes.

And lastly this is an anonymous thread, there is no way that you could have known that you argued with SANDF members.

And a Gripen can take?

Pilot or Nvigator

All 18 of those men air airmen.

Now prove only 8 are pilots

Let's first look at the Czech republic. They also operate the Gripen C/D.

For a recent Nato exercise the Czech Airforce deployed.
The Czech Air Force has deployed five of its JAS-39 Gripen fighter aircraft and a total of 80 aircrew and ground personnel to Iceland for the last quarter of 2014.

http://aco.nato.int/czech-jas39-gripen-deploy-to-iceland-on-nato-mission.aspx

Let me reiterate

Czech Airforce

5 Gripen C/D jets
80 Aircrew and ground personnel members.

No money?

But tenders have just been releaced

Lol

Unlike Nigeria, we put allot of plannning into the aquisition of vessels

South-Africa signed the Gripen contract in 1999, that's 15 years ago.

SAAF has at-least 9 D models, the two seater model.

SAAF has only 18 Air crew members trained for 26 planes.

9 D models = 9 navigators
SAAF is now only left with 9 pilots for 26 planes.

Patches689, J115, Mikeczar, mzilakazi, 9 pilots for 26 planes, is this a good number?

We can now all agree SAAF only has 9 Gripen pilots.

That article proves nothing. It infact supports my argument that you lack Aviation fuel and Gripen Pilots.

8 Gripen pilots for 26 planes is absolutely nothing to be proud of. Neither is 14.

18 000 flight hours of 22 000 planned shows that we dont lack avaiation fuel - infact we have an exess

The fact that after i have challenged you many times, you still do not have a shred of evidence to support your claims of pilots

14 Gripen is what we need for our current force posture

NNS Aradu refit details 2005 was fully published. It's no big deal when you refit Valour frigate and the radars, missiles, guns, all remain the same....all SAN did was refit a new engine as your South African navy man Andrew Coetze posted here last year when he said the Valour frigate engines are dying fast because of patrol duties, German crap was sold to ANC government for bribes as usual....overpriced crappy Valour frigates with inferior missiles and defective combat suite....F-7 jet will sink your frigate like iceberg sank the Titanic.

Stealth Catamarans, you are still my dull student, so I have to teach you again, your source talks about patrol catamaran version, my source talks about combat catamaran version, reason why missiles were not mentioned in your inferior source.

Learn to post what you are asked, e.g when asked to write about army IFV don't post police APC....get it? Dullard, get it? Say yes sir....come on say it...
.

I love it how he keeps repeating the same stuff over and over - deapite it all being debunked

No one is convinced

And with regards to the Combat suite, if it is good enough for the flagship of the french fleet (a nuclear powered aircraft carrier) its good enough for us.

After falling to build one small OPV on project Biro for 17 years.

Lol, SAN will end up with a fishing trawler with machine gun mounted on it
.

Project Biro was stopped between 1998 and 2007, it was then activated again and the plan for a number of years was to aquire them in this financial year

Project Biro has met all its milestones since re-activation, such as the refurb of the naval station in durban, and the conversion of the warrior class

Tenders have just been released now, deal will be signed in June next year

Project biro has been in the pipeline for 17 years also, next year would be 18 years.

You cursing doesn't change this fact.

So what?

Both are being implimented as we speak

SANDF has hundreds of studies and projects underway, they are implimented as needed or shelved if they are not
