I was watching a programme on TVC and a topic was been discussed about grandmums breastfeeding their grandchildren especially when the mother of the babies are not around.

Mothers,can you allow your mother breastfeed your baby in your absence?

I don't think its hygienic. The grand mum has not breast fed for several years, the nipples will definitely be carrying hidden dirt particles.

but she baths everyday and washes her nipples. I don't think the reason for grandmums not to breast their grandchildren is due to hygiene. She can always clean the nipples if she wants to breastfeed.

I wanna know how possible it is for breastmilk to flow despite not breastfeeding for a long time.

When the mother is still alive? If the baby's mother is dead, that was the only condition I have heard a grandmother breastfed her grandchild.

He he he he. I remembered the day my MIL said she wanted to wash her breast and breastfeed my daughter. I smiled sinisterly. I told her son when he got back from work that he should warn his mother not to try it o. Which kain thing be that! What do you expect?

From her past behaviour and attitude, it is as if I don't exist as the mother of the child. She wants to be the one to cut her first hair, do the naming ceremony, etc. So as soon as she made that suggestion, I drummed it into her son's ears that he should tell his mother not to try it.

Seriously? I don't think so. I think granny's breastmilk is also rich in nutrients. You know,the older the richer.

sometimes,strangers are allowed to especially in hospitals. If the woman is certifed disease free,why not?

I also watch it this morning, that girl called Jumoke was just feeling irritating to the matter, the look on her face was like "no matter what I can't just allow that to happen"
