As soon as the All Progressives Congress (APC) picked Pastor Yemi Osinbajo to be Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate for the 2015 election, the questions of religious character emerged.

Earlier today it transpired that the major opposition party chose Yemi Osinbajo, who is a pastor of the Redeemed Church, to be Buhari’s Vice.
Some alleged that the move was dictated by the idea that the pastor’s Christian congregants would vote for him in February.

Reacting to the development, Nigerian Bulletin published a piece in which the journalist stated that another famous and respected country cleric, Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s, General Overseer of the same church, would have to make a choice.

It would be recalled that Adeboye for years has been associated with President Goodluck Jonathan. The clergyman even attended the presidential private event: the wedding of Jonathan’s foster daughter Faith held earlier this year.

But what caused serious surprise among Nigerians was the last year’s incident when GEJ was pictured kneeling down in front of Adeboye at the church’s Redemption Camp.

It is not quite clear whose side the famous cleric will take and whether he will take any.

An endorsement from Papa Adeboye can translate into millions of votes of Nigeria’s Christians. Will the preacher prefer pastor Osinbajo and thus the APC, or will he remain Jonathan’s man?

Enoch adeboye has only one vote and is in no position to force his members into voting for any candidate. Don't forget we also have both APC and PDP members in Rccg.Besides Rccg's 5m population is only a fraction of the Nigerian christian population of over 70m
